B. Waugh Crigler
B. Waugh Crigler was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia. He was appointed to this position in 1981.[1] Crigler retired at the end of his term on September 30, 2013.[2] As planned, on September 30, 2013, Crigler stepped down after serving 32 years on the bench.[3]
Education
Judge Crigler received his B.A. degree from Washington and Lee University in 1970 and his J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee in 1974.[1]
Career
Judge Crigler began his career in 1973 as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Robert L. Taylor of the Eastern District of Tennessee. The following year, he became a private practice lawyer. He worked in this capacity until his judicial appointment in 1981. He also teaches at the University of Virginia School of Law.[1]
