Montroll ran for re-election to the 7th District Seat (Chittenden District) in 2010. He ran against Virginia Lyons (D), Hinda Miller (D), Philip Baruth (D), Sally Fox (D), Frank Geier (D) and Timothy Ashe (D) in the primary. He was defeated by Virginia Lyons (D), Sally Fox (D), Philip Baruth (D), Timothy Ashe (D), Hinda Miller (D) and Diane Snelling (R) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[1]
