Charlotte Anne Perretta was a justice on the Massachusetts Appeals Court, the intermediate appellate court for the state of Massachusetts. She was appointed to this position by Governor Dukakis and took office on December 21, 1978.[1] She stepped down from the court in October 2009.[2]

Education

Judge Perretta was born in 1942 in Hartford, Connecticut. She received her A.B. degree from The College of St. Elizabeth in 1964 and her J.D. degree from Suffolk University Law School in 1967. She now lives in Boston.[1]

Career

Judge Perretta began her legal career working with the Massachusetts Defenders Committee on post-conviction matters. She joined the law firm Crane, Inker & Oteri in 1969. In 1975, she became a partner in the firm Keating, Perretta & Pierce. She later practiced with Ronald Wysocki until 1978, when she was appointed to the Court of Appeals.[1]
