Bergeron earned an undergraduate degree from Centre College, a master's degree from the University of Louisville, and a J.D. from the University of Louisville Law School. His professional experience includes work as a prosecutor for the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office and as the county attorney's representative to the Veteran’s Treatment Court.[3]

The judges of the Kentucky District Courts are elected in nonpartisan elections. They serve four-year terms and must run for re-election if they wish to serve again.[4][5]

Qualifications
To serve on this court, a judge must be:[4]

  • a U.S. citizen;
  • a resident of the represented district for at least two years; and
  • licensed to practice law for at least two years.
