Oklahoma Workmen's Compensation, State Question 304 (1942)

The Oklahoma Workmen's Compensation Amendment, also known as State Question 304, was on the November 3, 1942 ballot in Oklahoma as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was defeated. The measure would have removed restrictions in the recovery of workmen's compensation benefit recovery in the case of death due to injury on the job.[1]

Although the measure gathered more "yes" votes than "no" votes, Oklahoma requires that the majority of all voters vote "yes" in order to pass an amendment. In 1942, a vote of 189,391 was needed to pass the measure.
