I've had this album for a while and I still haven't explored even half of it. There's so much here, hidden in subtle details and intricate arrangements. Every listen is rewarding because every listen reveals something new. You can't say that about most music released at any point in human history.

Angelic vocals, phenomenal and varied instrumentation, and well considered lyrics make this an essential folk record.

I think it's the incredibly intricate orchestral arrangements on this record that keeps me coming back to it. The instruments are layered so well, and with such density -- you'll not find another record like this

This is undoubtedly my single favorite album of all time. It feels like such a perfect culmination of all the themes and ideas Fleet Foxes has been working with since 2008. It answers many of the questions found on both Helplessness Blues and Crack-Up, and represents an incredible maturation and growth in Robin Pecknold's perspective. Their other albums are certainly masterpieces, but this, in my opinion, is their magnum opus. I doubt it will be recognized as such in its time.
