Matched Hearts

Summary:

Izuku Midoriya is just another fan of the world’s greatest hero, All Might. But when he joins an All Might-themed fan chatroom, he has no idea his life is about to change. There, he meets BlastyKing—a loud, opinionated user who isn’t afraid to challenge him on every debate. Despite their constant bickering, they quickly become online friends... until Izuku suggests they match their profile pictures, and BlastyKing agrees.

But when their online personas collide with their real-life identities, things get a whole lot more complicated. It turns out, BlastyKing isn’t just any random user—he’s none other than Katsuki Bakugo, the hot-headed childhood rival Izuku has spent years trying to avoid.

Thrown into a whirlwind of confusion, denial, and feelings neither of them expected, Izuku and Katsuki must figure out how to balance their newfound connection with their old rivalry. Can their growing bond survive the truth, or will it fall apart in the face of old wounds?

Work Text:

Izuku’s fingers trembled with excitement as he finished setting up his profile on All Might’s Mightiest, the biggest fan app dedicated to the Number One Hero. He had spent the last hour scrolling through posts, reading hero analysis threads, and admiring the sheer dedication of the community. But what really caught his eye was the Ultimate All Might Fan Group, an open chatroom with 3,000+ members active at any given time.

He hesitated before clicking on the chat. The messages moved at a ridiculous speed, notifications flooding in as different users discussed everything from All Might’s greatest fights to his best catchphrases.

Taking a deep breath, Izuku typed his first message.

AllMight4Life  11/26/2024 8:34 PM

Hi, everyone! I just joined! This place is amazing!

SymbolOfPeace93 11/26/2024 8:34 PM

Welcome! Another disciple of the Almighty Might!

AllMightFanatic 11/26/2024 8:35 PM

Hey hey, new people! What’s your favorite All Might fight?

Izuku’s eyes lit up. Finally, people who would appreciate a real discussion about All Might’s battles. He barely hesitated before typing.

AllMight4Life 11/26/2024 8:36 PM

Oh, definitely Kamino Ward! That fight was legendary. Even in his weakened state, All Might still stood tall and defeated All For One. He proved that a true hero never gives up, even when he’s at his limit.

A few people responded with emojis and agreement, but then a new message popped up.

BlastyKing 11/26/2024 8:38 PM

Tch. Typical casual answer.

Izuku blinked. He had seen BlastyKing’s name a few times while lurking. They were very active in the chat and had a bit of a reputation for being blunt, opinionated, and always ready to argue. Some people liked them, some found them annoying, but no one could deny they knew their stuff.

Still, Izuku couldn’t just let that comment slide.

AllMight4Life 11/26/2024 8:39 PM

What do you mean by that?

BlastyKing 11/26/2024 8:40 PM

I mean, Kamino wasn’t his peak. That was him barely scraping by. If you wanna see All Might at his strongest, look at his battle against Toxic Chainsaw back in his prime.

HeroModeActivated  11/26/2024 8:40 PM

Ooooh, here we go. Debate incoming.

SmashEnthusiast 11/26/2024 8:41 PM

Get your popcorn, folks.

Izuku huffed, rolling up his metaphorical sleeves.

AllMight4Life 11/26/2024 8:42 PM

Sure, that was a great fight, but it didn’t test his limits the way Kamino did. It’s not just about raw power—it’s about perseverance! The fact that he still won, despite being at his weakest, makes it one of the most inspiring moments in hero history.

BlastyKing 11/26/2024 8:43 PM

Ugh, why do people keep glorifying struggle? Heroes should be dominant Unbreakable. Kamino was him losing, just slowly.

AllMight4Life 11/26/2024 8:44 PM

It’s not about losing or winning easily—it’s about proving what a hero really is. He didn’t have to fight. He was already at his limit. But he still did it, for the people watching.

QuirklessWonder 11/26/2024 8:45 PM

Gotta admit, Kamino’s speech to the world still gives me chills.

SymbolOfPeace93 11/26/2024 8:45 PM

"A hero should smile, no matter what!"

AllMightFanatic 11/26/2024 8:46 PM

Okay, but you gotta respect Deika City as a top-tier battle. All Might versus three high-level villains at once? Insane.

Izuku’s eyes widened. That… was actually a good point.

AllMight4Life 11/26/2024 8:47 PM

Oh, Deika City was incredible! He was forced to use strategy instead of brute strength. But it’s still different from Kamino. That was a test of endurance. He had to be smart.

BlastyKing 11/26/2024 8:48 PM

NOW you’re talking sense. That’s the kind of fight that shows what a true Number One hero should be like. Complete domination. Tactical. No weaknesses.

Izuku smirked.

AllMight4Life 11/26/2024 8:49 PM

Ohhh, so you like All Might when he’s invincible? That’s kinda boring.

BlastyKing 11/26/2024 8:49 PM

EXCUSE ME?

HeroModeActivated 11/26/2024 8:49 PM

LMAO new guy is poking the bear.

SmashEnthusiast 11/26/2024 8:50 PM

Blasty’s about to go feral.

Izuku grinned, watching BlastyKing furiously type.

BlastyKing 11/26/2024 8:51 PM

Heroes should be strong. They should make villains tremble the second they show up. That’s the whole point of All Might’s presence. He’s a symbol—the second he steps in, the fight’s already over.

AllMight4Life 11/26/2024 8:52 PM

That’s true, but if a hero wins too easily, where’s the meaning? The best fights are when they struggle and still come out on top.

BlastyKing 11/26/2024 8:52 PM

Tch. You’re lucky your takes aren’t completely trash.

AllMight4Life 11/26/2024 8:53 PM

Wow. High praise from you, huh?

HeroModeActivated 11/26/2024 8:53 PM

This is lowkey entertaining. Someone make a poll: Best All Might fight.

SymbolOfPeace93 11/26/2024 8:54 PM

Already on it!

As the chat continued, Izuku found himself genuinely enjoying the back-and-forth with BlastyKing. Despite their initial argument, they were actually… kind of fun to talk to? Sure, they were blunt and aggressive, but it wasn’t mean-spirited. They were just passionate.

The debate continued for another hour, messages flooding in as others joined in to defend their favorite All Might fights. But somehow, BlastyKingn and AllMight4Life kept responding to each other the most.

Eventually, the chat started slowing down as people logged off for the night.

Izuku sat back, staring at his screen. He had joined this app to connect with fellow All Might fans, but he hadn’t expected to find this—someone who could challenge him, keep up with his excitement, and actually make the conversation fun.

He smiled to himself.

Maybe this place wasn’t just for fans.

Maybe it was where real friendships started, too.

☆☆☆

The Ultimate All Might Fan Group chat was as chaotic as ever, messages flying at breakneck speed. People were debating fights, ranking All Might’s best catchphrases, and posting old magazine scans of his interviews.

Izuku, now a regular, found himself checking in almost every night. And every time he did, his eyes immediately sought out one name.

BlastyKing.

It wasn’t like he was waiting for them or anything. No way. But their debates had become a highlight of his time in the chat. BlastyKing was rude, sure, but they were knowledgeable, passionate, and—Izuku hated to admit it—kind of fun to talk to.

Tonight was no different.

AllMightFanatic 11/29/2024 3:37 PM

Okay, hear me out. We should all change our profile pics to All Might in honor of him.

QuirklessWonder 11/29/2024 3:37 PM

Like… all of us?

HeroModeActivated 11/29/2024 3:37 PM

Lmao that’d be kinda hilarious.

AllMight4Life 11/29/2024 3:38 PM

Wait, we should do it! Like, a matching All Might PFP event!

BlastyKing  11/29/2024 3:38 PM

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.

AllMight4Life 11/29/2024 3:38 PM

Oh come on, where’s your team spirit? It’d be fun!

BlastyKing  11/29/2024 3:38 PM

No.

AllMight4Life 11/29/2024 3:39 PM

What if we all pick different versions of All Might? Then you don’t have to match exactly, but we’d still be coordinated!

BlastyKing 11/29/2024 3:39 PM

Still no.

AllMightFanatic 11/29/2024 3:40 PM

Pfft, I bet if someone picked a badass All Might image, Blasty would cave.

HeroModeActivated 11/29/2024 3:40 PM

He acts all tough, but deep down, he’s a total fanboy.

BlastyKing 11/29/2024 3:40 PM

I will literally block all of you.

AllMight4Life 11/29/2024 3:41 PM

…So you’re saying there’s a chance?

BlastyKing 11/29/2024 3:41 PM

NO.

Izuku laughed, fingers flying over his keyboard as he scrolled through images of All Might. He had to find the perfect one. Something powerful, dynamic, undeniably cool.

A few minutes later, he found it—a shot of All Might mid-punch, the force of his Detroit Smash splitting the air, his grin unwavering.

Izuku quickly set it as his profile picture and dropped it into the chat.

AllMight4Life 11/29/2024 3:43 PM

How about this one?

There was a pause.

BlastyKing 11/29/2024 3:44 PM

…Tch. Fine. But ONLY because that’s a decent pic.

The chat erupted.

HeroModeActivated 11/29/2024 3:44 PM

OH MY GOD, HE FOLDED.

SmashEnthusiast 11/29/2024 3:44 PM

WITNESS HISTORY. BLASTYKING AGREED TO SOMETHING.

QuirklessWonder 11/29/2024 3:44 PM

This is the most wholesome peer pressure I’ve ever seen.

Izuku grinned, watching as BlastyKing changed their profile picture to the exact same All Might image.

Now, side by side, their icons matched

☆☆☆

Most of the group chat had logged off, the chaos dying down as people went to bed. Izuku was about to do the same when a private message notification popped up.

BlastyKing 11/29/2024 10:12 PM

You’re way too persistent, nerd.

Izuku blinked, then grinned. Their first-ever private message.

AllMight4Life 11/29/2024 10:13 PM

What can I say? I like winning.

BlastyKing 11/29/2024 10:13 PM

Enjoy it while it lasts. I’ll destroy you in the next debate.

AllMight4Life 11/29/2024 10:13 PM

You say that every time, and yet…

BlastyKing 11/29/2024 10:14 PM

Tch. Shut up.

Izuku chuckled, lying back on his bed. He hadn’t expected this when he joined the app. But somehow, in the middle of fan debates and ridiculous dares, he had found someone who actually got him.

And for the first time in a long time, he couldn’t wait to log in again tomorrow.

The days blurred into one another, but one thing remained constant—Izuku’s nightly chats with BlastyKing. It had started with debates about All Might’s greatest moments, but as the hours passed and their conversations grew more familiar, it evolved into something else entirely.

Every night, without fail, they exchanged messages. Sometimes the topics were trivial—what was the best attack move, the most iconic smile, or who All Might would pick as his successor. Other times, the conversations turned deeper, veering into territories neither of them had expected.

BlastyKing 12/03/2024 9:56 PM

You’re late tonight. What took you so long, nerd?

AllMight4Life 12/03/2024 10:23 PM

Sorry! I was finishing some homework. You know, hero class stuff. I’m still not great at it, but I’m trying to catch up.

BlastyKing 12/03/2024 10:24 PM

Tch. You’re always trying to catch up. What’s wrong with being average?

AllMight4Life 12/03/2024 10:24 PM

I don’t know… it just feels like I’m always running behind. Like no matter how hard I try, I’ll never be good enough.

There was a long pause before BlastyKing responded, and Izuku bit his lip nervously. He hadn’t expected to share something so personal.

BlastyKing 12/03/2024 10:25 PM

That’s stupid.

Izuku blinked, staring at the screen. Was BlastyKing… being mean?

BlastyKing 12/03/2024 10:25 PM

You’re better than half the people in this chat already. Maybe even better than me. So stop whining.

Izuku felt a mix of confusion and warmth at the unexpected response.

AllMight4Life 12/03/2024 10:24 PM

I don’t think that’s true. You’re way better at this stuff than I am. You’re… strong, you know?

There was another long pause, and Izuku started to think BlastyKing had fallen asleep or something when the reply came.

BlastyKing 12/03/2024 10:25 PM

You have no idea what it’s like, huh? Always having to be the best.

Izuku sat up straight. That was… unexpected.

AllMight4Life 12/03/2024 10:26 PM

What do you mean?

BlastyKing 12/03/2024 10:26 PM

Being the best isn’t easy. People expect you to be perfect all the time, and when you screw up, they don’t forgive you. You think I want to be the best? It’s a damn curse. But it’s the only thing I can do. I don’t have a choice.

Izuku’s heart ached as he read those words. There was something about the way BlastyKing spoke, something raw in their honesty, that made Izuku feel… connected to them.

AllMight4Life 12/03/2024 10:26 PM

That sounds exhausting.

BlastyKing 12/03/2024 10:27 PM

It is. You don’t get to rest when you’re on top. But whatever. I deal with it. I always have.

Izuku didn’t know how to respond to that. He had always admired BlastyKing’s confidence and sharp edges, but now, he saw a new side to them—one that carried the weight of expectations and responsibilities. The pressure.

AllMight4Life 12/03/2024 10:28 PM

I get it. I just wish I had more confidence. Sometimes I feel like I’m not cut out for this hero thing. Like, no matter how hard I work, I’ll never be as strong as I need to be. I… I just want to protect people, you know?

There was a long silence. For a moment, Izuku thought maybe BlastyKing was done talking, but then a new message came through.

BlastyKing 12/03/2024 10:29 PM

You will be. You’re not alone in this. You just have to keep going.

Izuku felt his chest tighten, the warmth from those words spreading through him. BlastyKing didn’t know it, but they had just given him the push he needed.

AllMight4Life 12/03/2024 10:23 PM

Thanks… I really needed to hear that.

BlastyKing 12/03/2024 10:29 PM

Yeah, yeah. Don’t get all mushy on me, nerd. I’m just telling you the truth. But don’t forget it, alright?

Izuku smiled at the screen, his heart lifting a little.

AllMight4Life 12/03/2024 10:29 PM

I won’t. You’re not so bad, Blasty.

BlastyKing 12/03/2024 10:30 PM

And you’re not as annoying as I thought, Zuku.

Izuku snickered, glad to be on the receiving end of that teasing for once.

The next few days passed in a blur. Izuku found himself looking forward to their conversations more and more, even to the point of anticipating BlastyKing’s messages during school. He hadn’t realized how much he had started to rely on them, or how much they had become his escape after a tough day.

Each night, the topics shifted from All Might’s greatest moments to deeper, more personal discussions. They talked about everything—fears, regrets, dreams, and ambitions.

For Izuku, the late-night chats with BlastyKing were a refuge from the constant pressure of being the hero-in-training who couldn’t seem to measure up. They weren’t just talking about fights anymore—they were talking about life.

BlastyKing 12/18/2024 10:23 PM

So, you think you’re gonna be a pro hero after UA, huh?

AllMight4Life 12/18/2024 10:23 PM

Yeah. It’s always been my dream, ever since I was a kid.

BlastyKing 12/18/2024 10:23 PM

Yeah, but how are you gonna do that if you’re always holding back?

Izuku froze, unsure of what BlastyKing meant.

AllMight4Life 12/18/2024 10:24 PM

I don’t get it. What do you mean?

BlastyKing 12/18/2024 10:25 PM

You’ll never be good enough if you don’t let go of your insecurities. You’re always holding back because you don’t want to be a disappointment. But if you want to be a real hero, you need to stop caring what other people think.

Izuku’s heart skipped a beat. He had never thought of it that way.

AllMight4Life 12/18/2024 10:26 PM

That’s… That’s easier said than done.

BlastyKing 12/18/2024 10:26 PM

I know. But nothing worth doing is easy.

As the weeks passed, Izuku’s thoughts increasingly drifted back to BlastyKing. They were so… comfortable to talk to. And, in their own way, they had become Izuku’s safe space. He never felt judged or misunderstood when talking to them. Instead, he felt seen, even on his worst days.

But the more he thought about it, the more he realized—he didn’t just enjoy talking to BlastyKing.

He liked them.

Maybe even a little too much.

But there was no way to tell if BlastyKing felt the same. After all, their conversations were still mostly casual, filled with teasing and snark. So, Izuku kept it to himself, unsure of what these feelings really meant. He didn’t want to risk losing their friendship—or whatever this was.

Still, one thing was for sure.

His heart raced every time he saw BlastyKing’s name pop up in his private messages.

☆☆☆

Katsuki wasn’t one for routine. He hated predictability, hated being tied down to things that felt expected.

And yet, here he was, every damn night, sitting on his bed, waiting.

Waiting for a single notification.

AllMight4Life 01/08/2025 7:01 PM

Hey! You there?

Katsuki exhaled through his nose, a smirk tugging at his lips as he typed back.

BlastyKing 01/08/2025 7:01 PM

Tch. Took you long enough, nerd.

It was stupid. He knew it was stupid. But somehow, his nights didn’t feel right unless he was talking to AllMight4Life. They had told him that their name was Zuku. It had gone beyond All Might debates a long time ago—now, their conversations felt… important.

Personal.

They talked about things Katsuki never told anyone—about the weight of expectations, about the pressure of always being the best. And AllMight4Life? They listened. Really listened. And even more than that… they understood.

That was the part that terrified him the most.

Because he didn’t just like talking to AllMight4Life.

He wanted them. Wanted their words, their thoughts, their presence.

And that was a problem.

☆☆☆

Izuku stretched out on his bed, staring at his phone screen with a nervous flutter in his chest.

He had started noticing things

Like how BlastyKing was always there, even when the chat was dead. How they responded instantly to his messages, no matter how late it was. How their teasing had shifted into something softer, something that made Izuku feel warm in a way he didn’t completely understand.

And then there was the real problem.

Would he feel the same way about BlastyKing if they were talking face-to-face?

He tried to picture it—tried to imagine the person behind the screen. What kind of voice did they have? What did they look like? Were they as intimidating in person as they were online?

Would they… like him the same way Izuku was starting to like them?

It was a dangerous thought. But it was getting harder and harder to ignore.

AllMight4Life 01/23/2025 11:31 PM

Hey, can I ask you something?

BlastyKing 01/23/2025 11:31 PM

That depends. Is it stupid?

AllMight4Life 01/23/2025 11:31 PM

No!

BlastyKing 01/23/2025 11:31 PM

Then hurry up.

Izuku hesitated, fingers hovering over the keyboard before finally typing.

AllMight4Life 01/23/2025 11:32 PM

Do you ever wonder what it’d be like if we met in real life?

There was a long pause.

Izuku’s heart pounded. Maybe he shouldn’t have asked. Maybe it was too much—

BlastyKing 01/23/2025 11:32 PM

Yeah.

Izuku blinked.

AllMight4Life 01/23/2025 11:32 PM

Wait, really?

BlastyKing 01/23/2025 11:32 PM

Obviously. Wouldn’t be bad to have an actual sparring partner for once.

Izuku exhaled a laugh, even as his pulse raced.

AllMight4Life 01/23/2025 11:33 PM

Oh, so I’d be your sparring partner? Not your friend?

BlastyKing 01/23/2025 11:33 PM

Who says we’re friends?

AllMight4Life 01/23/2025 11:33 PM

We talk every night. That makes us friends, whether you admit it or not.

☆☆☆

Katsuki ran a hand through his hair, huffing at the screen. Zuku was going to kill him.

Because yeah. They were more than just online acquaintances. And the truth was—

Katsuki didn’t just want to be friends.

He typed, then deleted, then typed again. His chest felt tight, his hands unsteady.

BlastyKing 01/23/2025 11:33 PM

What if I wanted to be more than that?

His thumb hovered over the send button—but then, at the last second, his heart fucking betrayed him.

DELETE.

He cursed under his breath, his pulse hammering in his ears.

Instead, he sent something else.

BlastyKing 01/23/2025 11:34 PM

We should exchange contact info.

AllMight4Life 01/23/2025 11:34 PM

Wait, really??

BlastyKing 01/23/2025 11:35 PM

What? It’s annoying using this app all the time. Might as well just text or something.

AllMight4Life 01/23/2025 11:35 PM

Oh! Yeah! That makes sense!

☆☆☆

Izuku’s hands were shaking as he sent over his contact info, stomach flipping with nerves.

☆☆☆

Katsuki stared at the screen, exhaling sharply.

He’d almost said it. He’d almost told AllMight4Life how he felt.

But instead, he’d bought himself more time.

More time before he had to face the real problem.

The fact that he wasn’t just falling for some random All Might fan online.

He was falling. Hard.

☆☆☆

It was a regular evening when the app decided to crash. At least, that’s how Izuku saw it at first—just a little glitch. He sat on his bed, casually scrolling through the messages he’d exchanged with BlastyKing earlier that night, a small smile playing on his lips as he read through their banter.

But then—nothing.

The app froze. The screen flickered.

Izuku furrowed his brow and tapped the screen, then tried to open the chat again. But the same message flashed across the screen.

Error: Unable to connect.

His heart skipped a beat.

"Wait... What?" He tapped it again. And again. But nothing happened.

In panic, he reopened the app, trying to access their messages. Every single conversation had disappeared. He scrolled through the list—no chats, no history, nothing.

All the messages were gone.

Izuku’s mind raced. What if it was a bug? A glitch? What if he couldn’t get back to BlastyKing? What if—no, no, no, he couldn’t lose them. Not after everything they’d shared.

He quickly opened his contacts list, the one that had only just begun to feel familiar with their numbers saved under new names. His finger hovered over BlastyKing’s name.

☆☆☆

Meanwhile, across town, Katsuki was in the same state of shock.

The same damn thing happened to him. The messages with AllMight4Life were gone. Completely wiped.

"Tch!" He cursed under his breath, frustration mounting. His hands shook with irritation as he reopened the app again and again, hoping for some kind of miracle. But it was no use.

The app had crashed, and all their history was lost.

But then… his phone buzzed.

Katsuki’s heart skipped a beat. He grabbed the phone from the table, seeing the number flash up on the screen.

Zuku.

He quickly answered, breath catching in his throat as he pressed the phone to his ear.

"Katsu, it’s me! Are you okay?!" Zuku's voice rang out from the other end, a hint of panic in his words. Calling Katsuki the nickname Zuku teased him about. They both loved Katsudon making Zuku start to call Katsuki that instead of Blasty.

"Yeah, I’m fine. What happened? The app—" Katsuki interrupted, his voice tight with worry.

"I don’t know! All our messages are gone! I can’t find anything, and I thought I’d lost you for good." Izuku’s voice faltered at the thought, but he quickly steadied himself. "I—We should just exchange messages outside the app. I don’t want to lose touch with you again."

There was a pause, and Katsuki felt his chest tighten as his fingers hovered over the phone screen. He hated how vulnerable it made him feel. He hadn’t even thought about what would happen if the app malfunctioned. What if… he hadn’t been able to contact Zuku? He couldn’t imagine a night without their conversations anymore.

"Yeah," Katsuki grunted, swallowing the lump in his throat. "Just send me your Discord, Zuku. We’ll figure this out."

Zuku's voice echoed on the other end of the line, full of relief. "Okay! I’m sending it now."

As soon as the message arrived, Katsuki quickly saved it, the weight of the moment settling in. He looked at the number in his phone’s contact list. The very first moment he’d felt something real between them, something that went beyond the screen.

Minutes later, Izuku sent him a text on Discord, a simple "Hey" that made Katsuki’s stomach flip. He read it, feeling an odd sense of excitement mixed with uncertainty.

But before he could reply, his phone buzzed again—this time, a message from AllMight4Life. The same dman username on the All Might app.

AllMight4Life 01/30/2025 10:23 AM

Okay, this might sound weird, but I feel like I know you from somewhere. Did you ever go to that All Might event last year?

Katsuki paused. He frowned at the screen. What kind of question was that?

He typed back, his fingers stiff on the screen.

BlastyKing 01/30/2025 10:23 AM

I don’t think so? Why?

AllMight4Life 01/30/2025 10:24 AM

It’s just... I don't know. Something about you feels familiar. Like I’ve heard your voice before or something. Wait—

There was a long pause, and Katsuki’s eyes narrowed as a sinking feeling hit his stomach.

AllMight4Life 01/30/2025 10:25 AM

Wait a minute…

BlastyKing 01/30/2025 10:25 AM

What?

☆☆☆

Izuku typed furiously, his next message a string of almost frantic words.

AllMight4Life 01/30/2025 10:26 AM

You’re… is you're name by any chance, Katsuki?

☆☆☆

Katsuki froze, his breath catching in his throat. His fingers hovered over the keys. What the hell?

He immediately started typing, his own heart pounding as everything.

BlastyKing 01/30/2025 10:27 AM

Wait… Who are you??

AllMight4Life 01/30/2025 10:27 AM

Kacchan...

There was no denying it was Deku. Katsuki was completely still, staring at the message for a long moment. His fingers hovered on the screen, his mind racing as confusion and shock flooded his brain.

Deku. The quiet kid with the messy hair, the one he used to pick on in class. The one he had shared all these deep conversations with. His own… Deku.

He swallowed, the familiar frustration clawing at his chest. This was ridiculous. This wasn’t how it was supposed to be. He had spent weeks talking to this guy, falling for him without even knowing who he really was.

And now… now it was all crumbling down.

AllMight4Life 01/30/2025 10:29 AM

This doesn’t… it doesn’t make any sense. Kacchan?

BlastyKing 01/30/2025 10:30 AM

Deku, don’t say a damn thing. We don’t know what this means.

☆☆☆

Izuku felt the weight of it all, the walls of his mind closing in as the reality hit. There were no more secrets. No more mystery. Just them. Two people—one online, one real—finally facing the truth.

AllMight4Life 01/30/2025 10:31 AM

But… how?

☆☆☆

Katsuki wanted to respond. He really did. But he found himself at a loss for words. Everything had changed in an instant, and there was no way to go back.

The silence between them stretched on, each of them sitting in a cloud of disbelief, as the truth of who they were to each other began to settle in.

Katsuki didn’t reply.

The seconds stretched into minutes. The minutes stretched into an unbearable silence.

☆☆☆

Izuku stared at his phone screen, fingers hovering over the keyboard. His heart pounded against his ribs, something tight and awful twisting in his chest.

Kacchan...

He had spent so many nights talking to BlastyKing. Trusting him. Feeling safe.

And now, BlastyKing was Katsuki. Katsuki was BlastyKing.

The same person who had bullied him in elementary school. The same person who had ignored him for the past few years. The same person who had somehow, unknowingly, become his closest friend online.

Izuku swallowed hard. He needed to say something.

AllMight4Life 01/30/2025 10:32 AM

Kacchan? Are you still there?

The typing bubble appeared for a second. Then it disappeared.

And then—nothing.

Izuku clenched his phone tighter, his stomach twisting.

This wasn’t how it was supposed to happen.

☆☆☆

His grip on his phone was so tight he thought it might crack.

Deku.

The nerd he’d spent years pushing away, the one who never seemed to get the hint. The one he thought he’d cut out of his life.

And yet, somehow, he had let Deku in without even knowing it.

Katsuki felt sick.

He shoved his phone onto his desk and ran a hand through his hair. His mind was racing, trying to piece everything together, but it didn’t make sense.

It couldn’t be real. It had to be a joke.

But the messages were still there. All the late-night conversations, all the teasing, all the things he had admitted.

To Deku.

His stomach turned. His face felt hot with frustration.

He had told Deku things he’d never told anyone.

And the worst part?

He had liked it.

Katsuki stood up abruptly, sending his chair skidding back. His room felt too small, too tight. He wanted to punch something. He wanted to scream.

But instead, he did the only thing he could think of.

He ignored it.

He shut off his phone and threw himself onto his bed, forcing himself to stare at the ceiling, pretending that everything wasn’t completely falling apart.

☆☆☆

Izuku checked his phone more times than he wanted to admit.

He told himself not to be upset. He told himself not to care.

But every time he opened his messages and saw nothing, it felt like a punch to the gut.

Kacchan isn’t answering.

The words felt heavier every time he thought them.

And what hurt the most was that he should have known.

He should have expected this. Katsuki had always pushed him away. Why would now be any different?

But still…

He had been so kind.

Late at night, when they weren’t bickering about All Might or teasing each other in the chat, Katsuki had been different. Honest. Almost… gentle.

Izuku had never seen that side of him before. He wasn’t sure anyone had.

And now, after everything, it was gone.

Izuku curled up on his bed, staring at the ceiling. His throat felt tight.

Had he just lost BlastyKing and Kacchan at the same time?

☆☆☆

He didn’t even know what he was feeling.

Betrayal? Confusion? Guilt?

He had spent weeks talking to Deku—laughing with him, sharing things he wouldn’t tell anyone else.

And it had felt real.

That was the worst part. He couldn’t even pretend it hadn’t mattered.

But it was Deku.

Katsuki clenched his fists, staring at his phone like it had personally betrayed him.

The messages were still there. The proof that he had fallen for someone he had spent years pushing away.

And now?

He didn’t know how to go back.

☆☆☆

Izuku stared at the blank message screen, his thumb hovering over the keyboard.

For two days, neither of them had said a word.

The silence was unbearable.

He had lost friends before, but this wasn’t just any friend. Katsuki—no, BlastyKing—was his person. The one who had listened to him, debated with him, supported him in ways he never thought Katsuki could.

He couldn’t let that go.

Even if it hurt.

Even if he was terrified.

Taking a deep breath, Izuku forced himself to type.

AllMight4Life 02/01/2025 7:39 PM

Can we talk?

Sent.

His heart pounded as he stared at the screen, waiting. Praying.

And then—

BlastyKing is typing…

Izuku held his breath.

Then the message popped up.

BlastyKing 02/01/2025 7:40 PM

Where?

☆☆☆

The walk to the park felt longer than usual.

Izuku clutched the strap of his backpack, his nerves a tangled mess in his stomach. He spotted Katsuki first, leaning against a bench, hands shoved into his pockets, scowl already in place.

This was weird.

The last time they had talked, Katsuki had been teasing him through a screen. They had been laughing, arguing, talking like they always did.

But now, there was distance between them.

Izuku swallowed and stepped closer. "Hey."

Katsuki glanced at him, expression unreadable. "Hey."

Silence.

Izuku fidgeted, kicking a rock near his foot. He wasn’t good at this. He was good at rambling, at over-explaining, at ruining things. But he had to try.

"I—" He hesitated. "I don’t want to stop talking to you."

Katsuki inhaled sharply, his grip tightening in his pockets. His voice came out lower, quieter. "I didn’t either."

Izuku blinked. "Then why did you—"

"Because it’s you!" Katsuki snapped, then exhaled harshly. He ran a frustrated hand through his hair. "Deku, I—damn it. I didn’t know what to do, okay?"

Izuku’s breath hitched.

Katsuki looked away. "I thought—I don’t know, I felt like an idiot. I spent all this time talking to you online, thinking you were some random nerd, but it was you. And it freaked me out."

Izuku’s fingers clenched around his sleeve. "Why?"

Katsuki let out a bitter laugh. "Because I liked you, dumbass."

The words hung in the air between them, heavy and real.

Izuku’s heart nearly stopped.

Katsuki scowled at the ground. "I didn’t wanna admit it, okay? I was finally talking to someone who didn’t expect me to be a certain way. Someone who didn’t treat me like I was some goddamn rival all the time. And then—" His voice dropped. "Then I realized it was you. And I freaked out."

Izuku swallowed hard, his throat tight.

Because the truth was—he had felt the same.

His voice was quiet when he spoke. "Kacchan… I think I liked you, too."

Katsuki stiffened, eyes snapping up to meet his.

Izuku’s face was burning, but he forced himself to keep going. "I mean—I didn’t know it was you. But I liked BlastyKing. I liked talking to you, spending time with you. And now I realize… that was just you being you the whole time."

Katsuki exhaled, rubbing the back of his neck. "Shit."

Izuku bit his lip. "So… what do we do now?"

For a long moment, Katsuki didn’t answer.

Then, finally, he looked up, the corners of his mouth twitching into something almost like a smirk.

"I don’t know, nerd." He nudged Izuku’s shoulder. "But you still owe me a rematch on our All Might debate."

Izuku laughed, his chest loosening, the weight of the past few days slowly unraveling.

"You're so competitive," he teased, nudging him back.

Katsuki rolled his eyes but didn’t pull away.

Maybe they’d figure this out.

Maybe—just maybe—this wasn’t the end.

☆☆☆

For the first time in days, things between them felt… normal.

Izuku still couldn’t quite believe how everything had happened—how BlastyKing had turned out to be Kacchan, how Kacchan had admitted he actually liked talking to him, and how, despite the awkwardness, they were still standing here, side by side.

Izuku glanced at Katsuki, who had been weirdly quiet ever since their conversation at the park. His hands were still shoved in his pockets, shoulders tense, but his face was unreadable.

"Hey," Izuku started, nudging him slightly. "You okay?"

Katsuki made a noise, somewhere between a grunt and a sigh. "Shut up. I’m thinking."

Izuku tilted his head. "About what?"

Katsuki huffed, looking away. His ears were red.

Izuku blinked. Wait.

Kacchan was nervous.

Before Izuku could say anything, Katsuki suddenly exhaled sharply and blurted out, "Go out with me."

Silence.

Izuku’s brain short-circuited.

"What?"

Katsuki scowled, like he was regretting everything in real time. "You heard me, nerd. Go out with me. A date. You know, that thing couples do."

Izuku felt his entire face heat up. "You—you want to go on a date?"

"Don’t make me say it again," Katsuki grumbled, crossing his arms. "You’re lucky I didn’t just text it like a normal person."

Izuku blinked at him, then—before he could stop himself—he started laughing.

Katsuki’s eye twitched. "The hell’s so funny?"

Izuku shook his head, still smiling. "Nothing! It’s just—you’re really bad at this."

"Shut up!" Katsuki snapped, shoving him lightly. "Yes or no, Deku?"

Izuku grinned. "Yes, obviously."

Katsuki’s scowl softened, just slightly. "Good."

☆☆☆

They walked home together after school, just like they always had. But this time, it was different.

This time, Izuku caught the way Katsuki’s fingers twitched at his sides, like he wasn’t sure if he should reach out.

This time, Katsuki didn’t shove him away when their arms brushed together.

This time, they walked a little slower, neither of them in a rush to get home.

Izuku chuckled. "You know, for all the chaos we went through, this is kind of… simple."

Katsuki grunted. "What, you expected some big dramatic date?"

Izuku smiled. "No. I like this."

Katsuki clicked his tongue, but there was no real bite behind it. "Tch. We should’ve just done this from the start."

Izuku stopped walking.

Katsuki turned, confused. "Oi, what—"

Before he could finish, Izuku leaned in and pressed a quick, soft kiss to his lips.

Katsuki froze.

Izuku pulled back, face burning, heart racing. But he smiled. "Yeah," he said quietly. "We should have."

For a long moment, Katsuki just stared at him, wide-eyed, face turning bright red.

Then—he groaned, dragging a hand down his face. "You nerd!"

Izuku laughed. "You love it."

Katsuki grumbled something under his breath but didn’t deny it. Instead, he grabbed Izuku’s wrist, muttering, "Come on, let’s go before you do something even dumber."

Izuku let himself be pulled along, heart light, smile never fading.

Their first date had been simple. But to him?

It was perfect.

HeroicFan01 02/14/2025 7:40 PM

Wait. Hold up. Are you two actually—

FunkyBreeze 02/14/2025 7:41 PM

YOU TWO ARE DATING?

SuperSmash8 02/14/2025 7:41 PM

OMG THE POWER COUPLE OF THE YEAR!!!

Izuku and Katsuki hadn’t planned on announcing it. But when the entire group chat erupted into a chorus of emojis, congratulations, and chaotic messages, they couldn’t help but laugh.

AllMight4Life 02/14/2025 7:41 PM

Maybe…?

BlastyKing 02/14/2025 7:42 PM

Tch. Maybe.

Izuku could almost hear the collective gasps through the screen.

And just like that, their "power duo" was no longer just a joke.

But they didn’t care.

Their matching profile pictures had been a symbol of their All Might fandom, yes, but now they were something more. They weren’t just fans of the world’s greatest hero—they were partners in their own story. Two sides of the same coin, forever bound together by their weird, wonderful connection.

The chatroom exploded with messages for hours. Some were congratulatory, others just plain shocked, but every single one of them filled Izuku with a strange sense of belonging. The person he had once thought would be his greatest rival was now by his side—both online and offline.

Katsuki, who had never been one to express his feelings out loud, gave a rare, satisfied smirk as he read through the messages.

"Shut up, nerd," he muttered, but there was something in his voice that made it clear he didn’t mind at all.

Izuku smiled, feeling the weight of their past lift just a little more.

Their story wasn’t finished. In fact, it was just beginning.

And as they both sat there, side by side, with their matching profile pictures still proudly displayed, they couldn’t help but feel like—finally—they had found something worth fighting for.
