Chapter 1: Chapter 1: The Birth of the Self

Chapter Text

The Blue (for now): Herta Space Station
The Herta I

As she beheld her world The Blue, The one and only The Herta couldn’t help but ponder about her recent conversation with her fellow Genius Screwllum, his words should not be taken lightly.

His observations on the recent activity of the Equilibrium were intriguing and unexpected. She would have to look into it further as Screwllum sadly was preoccupied with other matters back in his home world, which he named after himself. Herta should now that she thinks about it follow his example and rename The Blue to Herta Segundus or Herta Prime, maybe those blockheads at the Intelligentsia Guild weren’t as dumb as she thought, Herta Prime did sound like a fitting name for the planet of her birth, even if Herta herself would never use it to describe herself. And it should be noted that The Blue was a horrible name, a fact which she had known since she was little. It was a fitting time to change it.

As she pondered on the variations of how to rename her planet a sudden pressure forced her to cling to the wall, out of breath and as filled with curiosity as she always was she felt the flow of the Imaginary Tree change, as if two twigs were crashing between themselves, wait not crashing fusing.

Outside her window she saw as thousands of new stars filled her viewpoint, stars that had not been there before. She grabbed her phone and dialed her manager and walking credit bag.

“Asta, prepare the Master Control Zone for detachment, we are heading towards the coordinates I have just sent” She knew time was of the essence before those fools at the Intelligentsia Guild began interfering. She could feel the power of the Imaginary concentrating far away in one of the new worlds that had appeared before her. She would arrive before anyone else.

Open Circle Armada: Command Center
Anakin Skywalker I

As Anakin and his Padawan entered the command center he saw Obi-Wan, Plo Koon and Admiral Yularen. They were chasing the Malevolence and needed to be informed that they would not receive back up from Master Luminara.

“Anakin were you able to contact Master Luminara” Obi-Wan asked, sadly I informed him that while I had been able to contact her we wouldn’t be receiving her support as she was dealing with a fleet of Separatist reinforcements nearby. He wasn’t worried, Grievous was trapped and the Malevolence would soon fall, of that he was sure.

Suddenly he felt a shift in the force like none he had ever felt before, in his rearview he could see Master Obi-Wan and Master Plo Koon clutch at their heads suddenly and Ahsoka falling to her knees. He felt as trillions if not quadrillions of people suddenly appeared within the force, and something else that he couldn’t describe. “Generals, Commander what’s wrong” asked the Admiral as he looked at the Jedi. He soon turned around because of the gasps of several of the clone troopers managing the ship. Instead of a Separatist Fleet, what he and Anakin saw when looking out the window was thousands of stars suddenly appearing out of nowhere rewriting the star maps with their presence.

“As alarming as whatever just happened may be we must focus on the Malevolence, the time for communicating with the Council and Senate will come later” called Obi-Wan as he rallied the clones to continue on with the attack.

“General were picking up a signal near the enemy vessel, something just came out of hyperspace” called one of the clones, “General look over there” another clone called as he pointed towards a giant planet sized ship in the distance, its design was unlike anything he had ever seen before.

“Whatever that thing is master, it’s not what came out of hyperspace” called Ahsoka as she checked the radars, “What do you mean padawan” asked Anakin as he checked the readings on the bigger ship.

“It looks like a Naboo ship, a cruiser to be specific” as she explained a sudden fear gripped Anakin and he ordered the gunners to stop firing and to contact the ship. Even before the call began he already knew who it was, her presence was unmistakably in the force, Padme.

The Xianzhou Luofu: Seat of Divine Foresight
Jing Yuan I

As Jing Yuan looked upon the huge stack of paperwork laying in his desk he pondered on the ideal method to trick Fu Xuan to finish it for him. He could always just ask but where was the fun in that. He could feel Yanqings eyes looking at him in disapproval from the other side of the room, the kid knew him a little too well.

All of a sudden, his instincts warned him that something was wrong. Wait not his instincts, he could feel the Lightning Lord steering within him like a warning looming over their heads as the path of the Hunt itself seemed to waver for a fraction of a second only to realign almost instantly. As he looked around he could already tell that everyone else had sensed the same thing.

“General what just happened? ” asked Yanqing as confusion and worry appeared on his face. Before he could answer Fu Xuan almost ran into the Seat of Divine Foresight with a look of wonder and fear she called out “General I don’t know what has just happened but the Imaginary Tree itself seems to have changed and to make matters worse their seems to be a fleet of unidentified ships battling just within our periphery”

As confused as Jing Yuan was he needed to maintain a calm face for his juniors, the matter of the Imaginary Tree could wait as there was little he or the Luofu could do. The space battle outside on the other hand should be easy enough to deal with. “Master Diviner prepare the starskiffs and mobilize the Cloud Knights “ he ordered. “I leave the responsibility of identifying the ships and bringing them to the Luofu for reprimand to you Master Diviner, whoever they are, they should know that the Xianzhou Alliance does not allow any threats near our Flagships.”

“Yes General” called Fu Xuan as she ran to complete his orders, followed closely by Yanqing. Jing Yuan moved at his own pace towards Stargazer Navalia, Fu Xuan knew him well enough to know he would want to personally speak with the troublemakers responsible for this mess, to make sure it doesn’t happen again. After all, if this had happened in any of the other flagships they would have already been shot down for their transgression.

As he looked at the ships leaving he caught a glimpse of Yanqing boarding one of the starskiffs and felt a mixture of worry and excitement, the kid was entering his rebellious stage and had started doing things like this every so often. He knew he would be safe as Fu Xuan would lead and knowing her she would easily stop whatever battle was taking place with her iron fist. She truly was growing into a fitting replacement and would be ready to take his place in only a hundred years at most. He had to say even with all the trouble Phantylia had caused, her attack on the Luofu had if nothing else helped his juniors mature greatly.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————- The Malevolence: Lower levels
Padmé Amidala I

Padmé wasn’t expecting for things to turn out like this, she was supposed to meet with the Banking Clan to set up a treaty for the senate. Not almost fall into enemy hands as a hostage. She would have to speak with the Chancellor on the matter of the Banking Clans if she got out of this alive.

“C-3PO follow me” she called as she ran away from the hangars and her ship which she had set up to explode any second now. Hopefully that would distract the droids long enough for her and C-3PO to find a good hiding spot until the Jedi arrived. She couldn’t help but have mixed feelings on the presence of Ani in the battle, she trusted him but couldn’t help but worry for him especially when she knew he could be reckless at times when it came to her own life.

Stopping the attack on the enemy ship for her sake placed the battle and Ani’s life in jeopardy and made her once again wonder about the trustworthiness of the Banking Clans.

As she and C-3PO made a sudden turn they almost stumbled upon a pair of droids heading towards them, she pulled her trusted droid back with her quickly hiding from the droidheads. “What do you mean we’ve been bordered” called one of the battledroids. “A weird pink lady entered the hangar and has ordered a complete surrender of the ship” the other one called. “She must be crazy, General Grievous would never surrender” replied the first droid. Padme felt a sense of relief, the pink lady they were describing must be one of the Jedi Masters fighting alongside Ani.

As the droids headed away from both her and the hangar a part of Padmé regretted going so deep within the ship, turning back towards where the droids had come from she and C-3PO headed back towards the hangar hiding whenever they saw signs of droids heading their way.

“Hurry up C-3PO, we’re almost there” she called as they neared the hangar, only to stop as she saw a group of armored organic soldiers heading their way. She didn’t recognize the armor but she could at least tell that they were not clones and hid but not before being spotted by the only individual she could see without an armor, he looked very young for being in the middle of a battle, though he did seem to be armed even if his sword seemed more like a ceremonial blade than one for combat.

“Stand right there, we are not going to hurt you” he called as he suddenly mounted a glowing sword that appeared out of nowhere. That was new, Padmé thought as she wondered who he was. She had never seen any Jedi or Sith for that matter ride a sword.

As he got closer at a speed she would not have expected she lifted her hands in surrender and called out “I am Senator Amidala of Naboo I was taken hostage by the Separatist force commanded by this ship.”

She could see in his face that he was confused by something she said and couldn’t help but wonder what, as he and the soldiers with him led her back to the hangars.

It was there that she finally saw the pink lady she had overheard the battle droids talking about, she was surprisingly short and wearing a beautiful outfit that as a Naboo she couldn’t help but appreciate even as she wondered how she could fight with it. After all she wouldn’t have expected it to allow her to fight who she recognized as General Grievous.

She wondered if she had at some point come into contact with a hallucinogen as the short pink lady was fighting while floating covering the whole area with a pink glow coming from an ornament in her forehead. “Surrender cyborg, your fate has already been written and it spells my victory” she called as she once again evaded the general’s attack while creating strange glowing symbols in her hands that slowly converged trapping Grievous and making him unable to move.

“The Xianzhou alliance does not allow space battles within our Flagships periphery, the Arbiter-General will interrogate you personally once we return to the Luofu, Yanqing bring your prisoner as well we still have the matter of the other ships to take care of.” She turned her back on Grievous while the armored soldiers carried him to a ship, the same one they were taking her, how wonderful she though, she hoped someone had at least gagged the General because she did not want to have to hear his unending threats for the near future.
