Chapter Text
“Oh boy, you must be excited!”
Jungkook downs the shot, hissing when the alcohol burns his throat but still, the smile on his lips is wild. He looks at Jimin with eyes that can barely contain his excitement.
“I don’t understand what you are referring to,” he smirks.
“Oh please, you’ve been talking about this day for almost four years. I came very close to ending our friendship because of how fed up I was. It’s like the only thing in your mind has been him.”
Jungkook bursts out laughing, downing another shot.
The bar is buzzing, it’s another student night and there are drunk people scattered everywhere, laughing, shouting, being excited to finally finish another year of hard studying.
“Come on Chim, it wasn’t that bad,” Jungkook muses.
“Are you kidding? Don’t you remember the first thing you said when we walked in the History of Arts class on the very first day?”
Jungkook now giggles and hides his face behind his palms while Jimin stands up and starts dancing around, mocking his best friend in a low pitched voice, “Oh my god Jimin, look at him. I want him. I can’t wait to finish uni so I can ask him out,” Jimin shows his tongue to Jungkook and sits back down while the other is laughing loudly.
“I’m pretty sure I didn’t say that!”
“Yes you did. And do you know why I remember it? Because you said it every time we got in class for almost all f three years. It’s etched in my brain, I swear I hear it in my dreams,” the blond whines and falls dramatically on the bar.
“Can you blame me though? I mean, have you seen him, Chim?”
“Nooooo, not agaaaaain!”
Jungkook bites his bottom lip, trying not to laugh again. He takes out his phone and scrolls through his gallery, finding the photo he is looking for. The photo he has looked at more times than he can count. The photo he has used to strengthen his determination and keep his passion for his goal alive. The photo he has used to help put a smile on his face. The same photo he has used to comfort himself on drunk and lonely nights in ways that would make anyone blush..
“Ah, look at him. He is so buffed, he is so daddy. Jimiiiiin, I want him!” He shoves the phone in his friend's face and Jimin sees the photo of a tall, built man, wearing slacks with no jacket, the sleeves of his shirt rolled up to his elbows.
He rolls his eyes because he has seen this photo so many times since the day Jungkook took it. “You are weird. I’ll never understand how you can be attracted to your professor. I mean, he is old..”
“Hey! He is not old. Kim Taehyung is mature. And he is thirty five, it’s not like he is fifty. Look at his hands. I bet he is fire in bed,” Jungkook bites his bottom lip while he drools over the picture of his professor. “I think he is kinky, do you think he is kinky?” he shows the phone to Jimin again, shoving it back in his face.
“For the love of god, Kook, just go fuck him already. I can’t do this any more. I’ve guessed his favourite food, his favourite drink, his favourite book and favourite underwear. I’ve even guessed his choice of colour when it comes to sexy lingerie and his favourite position. No more. I’ve had enough. If you want to know if he is kinky or not, go ask him!”
It’s true. Since day one, Jungkook has been obsessing about the man. It was lust at first sight, instant attraction and then it became a constant thought, his favourite guessing game. He had built Kim Taehyung in his head piece by piece, by observing and gathering information here and there. Jimin used to joke that he was an altar away from being arrested.
But it was beyond him. Jungkook knew he had to have Taehyung no matter what so he decided at the end of his last semester he would ask him out. He had built a nice path that led to that anyway. He had become the number one student, Mr Kim’s favourite. He had volunteered for events to get to see him more, he left class last to gain some extra ogling time and of course he never missed a chance to ask him questions after class and do some light flirting, slightly touching the elder which he always claimed of course to be by mistake - always by mistake.
And now the last semester was coming to an end, so it was time for his master plan to unfold.
“Just you wait, Mr Kim and soon you’ll be mine..”

“I can’t believe this year is already over.”
Taehyung huffs as he falls on the couch of his office. “Are you kidding? Thank god, it’s over.”
Hoseok looks at him, a knowing smile on his face. “Hang on a little longer. In a little while you’ll finally get away from him.”
Taehyung groans and lifts his hand as Hoseok hands him a drink.
“I made it, Hobi. Three years of constant teasing are finally over,” he takes a big sip and closes his eyes as the strong liquid hits his tongue.
“You have to admit though, he is persistent. The boy did everything. He even became the first of his class.”
“Number one of his whole year..” Taehyung mutters and watches how the whiskey sloshes around the glass while he shakes it.
“There! You can’t think he did all of that just to annoy you. I’ve told you before and I’ll say it again. I think he likes you.”
Taehyung rolls his eyes. “He doesn’t. And even if he does, what do you want me to do? Marry him? He is my student.”
“He won’t be in a few weeks,” Hoseok wiggles his eyebrows.
Taehyung shakes his head. “Still. There is a rule -”
“Ugh, get the stick out of your ass, grandpa! There is no rule against dating your ex students! He is graduating, have some fun. You haven’t had fun since we were in uni ourselves and even then, you were just studying. Oh god, you are such a nerd,” Hoseok throws his hands up in the air.
“Once a nerd, always a nerd.”
“Once a moron, always a moron. You and your rules and your ethics. Let loose for once. You obviously like him since you can’t stop talking about him.”
“I don’t talk about him!”
Bullshit.
For four years one of his students has been haunting his dreams and it all started the moment he set foot in his class. The boy was like a fallen angel, appearing before him as if sent by heaven. The moment Taehyung laid eyes on him, Jungkook became his favourite piece of art.
And being a piece of art was as far as it could and SHOULD go because Taehyung respected his job and his position. Because there was a set of rules that needed to be followed. Because Taehyung was dedicated. And because Taehyung was a timid man, even though Hoseok would call him a coward.
Taehyung just knew the lines and what not to cross. He knew how to be cautious and calm. He knew how to keep control inside and outside. And for these things to be efficient he had to distance himself from most people.
He had been called an old man, a high maintenance and quirky type of person but he just knew what he wanted and what he didn’t. He had a safety zone and inside it everything was in order.
And Jungkook.. Jungkook was way outside the safety zone. The boy was a student, always hyper, brimming with life and energy, something that Taehyung didn’t even have as a child. Jungkook was a breath of fresh air with his big smile and those starry eyes that would follow Taehyung from the start till the end of the lesson.
And it was nice to steal some glances of Jungkook’s beauty but it wasn’t okay when the boy started approaching him. When he started to stay late, ask questions and work hard. It wasn’t okay because it meant he would spent more time with Taehyung and Taehyung was awkward and cold and rigid and old, so old. He might be in his early thirties but he felt in his late sixties, ready to get his pension and quit life.
But thankfully, all this torture was about to be over. The semester was ending. A few more classes and then he would see the boy graduate, leaving him behind in his boring, quiet, peaceful life.
“Hello? Are you listening?” Hoseok waved his hand in front of Taehyung. “Why am I asking? Of course you don’t. You were thinking about him, weren’t you?”
“Cut it out,” Taehyung groans.
“Just admit it and go date him already!”
“Listen, I don’t know what you dance teachers do but us, academicians do NOT date our students.”
“Whatever. All I know is you need to live a little. Get drunk, get laid, god Taehyung, get a life!”
“I beg your pardon? I have a life. A life I chose and I'm very happy with. It’s not my fault it isn’t to your liking and why would it be when it’s MY life?”
He had enough with this whole thing. He couldn’t wait for Jungkook to finally graduate and all of this to be over.
