Steven was spacing out again.
Dissociation, is what the doctor had called it. It was a symptom of his C-PTSD. Just another thing wrong with him.
Connie sat by and made sure he was okay, but she also knew that the dissociation was likely saving him from a flashback or something of the sort, so she didn't interfere, just made sure that he had company and supervision.
The one part of his brain that was checked into reality appreciated her care.
