Chapter Text
The Holy Laurus.
Jevin's superior, the one who he promises to never betray. He loved her to death, he did. But, what did she do prior to all of this? What made Jevin see her as special?
Well, let's begin with a certain date:
July 21, 679 BHT (Before Heaven Time)
A couple gave birth to a healthy young girl, who was beautiful the moment people layed eyes on her. She was like a siren — once you see or hear them, you cannot look away. But there was an issue: the newborn was very sickly.
Her parents tried EVERYTHING to heal her, but nothing worked. So, they had to do a hard choice, which was using the Heavenly Elixir. After that she was very, VERY healthy. But, they realized they still haven't named their child yet, so they named her:
Lauren Discordia Veilas.
As an ordinary 5-year-old girl, nobody expected any supernatural stuff from Lauren, until one day. There was an incident. An incident so serious that the couple started to regret using the elixir that supposedly saved their child's life.
October 3, 684 BHT (Before Heaven Time)
Lauren noticed one of her classmates being bullied, so she tried to defend them. But no matter what, the bully shoved her to the ground. So, Lauren then lifted him up to the sky and threw him down. That incident concerned everybody, and people were wondering what was up with Lauren.
Eventually, her parents went to check on the Heavenly Elixir, and they learned that one of the side effects were powers. Actual god-like powers. Due to this, they grew more paranoid and antsy about Lauren's future — how will she handle anger? how will she handle sadness?
For most of Lauren's life, however, they treated it like a natural thing. Lauren even wondered if her parents would have been more happy if she wasn't born, despite the apparent genuineness of their love. She always wanted a sibling, a sibling that could be a symbol of the Lauren that was never meant to be. But, when she turned to the ripe age of eight, that wish came true.
April 25, 687 BHT (Before Heaven Time)
Lauren's mom got pregnant again, this time, the child was born healthy. She looked like an average female, with some people even glancing away. Lauren's dad gave her a kiss on the cheek and named the newborn child:
Lemura Rose Veilas.
Lemura, also known as "Lemmy", was an aspiring girl. Despite having not-so-magical talents, people still adored her. Lauren never envied Lemmy for fitting into society's norms more than her. Lemura seemed to have a bright future until one day..she got very sick.
Lauren was deadly worried. She was worried if her sister was gonna make it. Lemura was losing her breath, her eyes became bloodshot, and her legs became so soft, red, and fragile that they would break like delicate glass if they even moved a single thumb on a foot. Lauren felt like she had no time for friends or family due to this, always wanting to spend all her time caring for Lemmy, no matter how many times her parents CONVINCED Lauren to get a life and accept the fact Lemmy will die one day. Their predictions were sadly correct.
November 15, 699 BHT (Before Heaven Time)
Lemura was laying on her bed, the illness plaguing her eyes as well to the point she can barely open them. She looked like a dull plant sitting on a windowsill, neglected and wilted from time. Lauren ran into her room and told everything was gonna be alright, knowing that wasn't the case.
Then, around after school, Lauren found out her sister had succumbed, and weeped and weeped until approaching the funeral, where she saw Lemmy's body rotting like a zombie, with her skin pale as the snow on a winter night.
After her passing, Lauren vowed to never let anybody in her family rise into ailing health ever again. One day, she went to a abandoned nunnery, the same one Lorelai went all those eons ago.
Lauren was standing on one of the pews, holding a Rose Quartz and stick, holding them with care and respect. She looked at the broken stained glass windows, using them as a light which came from the moon itself. Lauren held her hands and form a prayer which was spoken in a cryptic, Germanic language. Soon, she noticed pastel pink runes surrounded her, fusing the Rose Quartz and stick into what looked like a shiny, pink katana. Soon, she would call the sword "Utsuha", which was Japanese for "sky blade". Lauren looked at the bright moonlight, and gave a simple prayer:
Ad lunam et ad caelum
Sit requies oriri
O lucens e obscuro lumine
Fac omnes reditus
Si iterum est videre eam
After that, Lauren would leave the old and broken cathedral, uncertain of the foward events after this.
