Chapter 1: CEO - YunSang

Chapter Text

Kang Yeosang, the young Chairman of Horizon Group just hired a new secretary to make his job easier. Yunho could be seen trailing behind him like an eager puppy. Always at Yeosang's beck and call. Always doing whatever his boss asked of him.

Yunho's favorite task, was helping Yeosang relax. Behind closed doors of the Chairman's office, Yunho would reduce Yeosang to a moaning mess. Pleasuring him within an inch of his life after a rough meeting. Sucking his chest raw. Marking up his perfect pale skin.

Yeosang may be the Chairman but Yunho? He held all the power. He served because he wanted to. His pay was nothing compared to the lewd moans only he heard. Some suspected they were closer than Boss and employee but no one dared ask the moment Yunho bore his eyes into them.

Chapter 2: Woke up in the Past - SeongSang

Notes:

CW: Implied character death

Chapter Text

University student Yeosang didn't have the best life. He had to work 3 part time jobs to pay off the debt his dead-beat father left behind after he was killed by loan sharks. He fell asleep often in class and his professors were getting frustrated.

One day, on the way home from one of his jobs, Yeosang contemplated what it would be like to have a different life. Unfortunately, Yeosang was hit and killed by a drunk driver. Or so he thought. Yeosang woke up feeling nauseous and sick. He threw himself at the bucket he saw on the floor.

After emptying his rather barren stomach, Yeosang realized he wasn't home. He didn't even know where he was! The clothes didn't look like anything he'd ever worn before. They looked rather old fashioned. The room was rocking constantly and he could smell stale salt in the air.

"Oh. You're awake." A voice called out with relief. Yeosang spun around and saw a man with black hair pulled half up in a ponytail. A white corset around his waist and a sword at his hip.

"Wh-who are you?" Yeosang stammered. The man's face fell. He looked sad.

"My love....my darling prince. Do you not recognize me?"

As it turned out, Yeosang found himself aboard the Destiny. A ship belonging to the Pirate King of lore, Park Seonghwa. Seonghwa claimed they were lovers and dedicated himself to helping Yeosang regain his memories. The rest of the crew supported them.

Yeosang found himself slowly becoming attached to each member and accepted his role as the Pirate King's Prince. But it wasn't always peaceful. Enemies and danger found them at every turn. But Seonghwa and the crew were always there to protect him.

Yunho loves Yeosang more than anything. He enjoys seeing his lover so successful in his work but he enjoys it even more when Yeosang returns home to him. Yeosang even dresses in disguise to support Yunho in his own passions as an alternative rock band's lead guitar and singer.

Both have their own public appearance but while Yeosang is famous and everyone calls his name. Only Yunho gets to hear him respond.

So poised and put together in front of the cameras, but when home with Yunho, Yeosang falls apart in his hands. Yunho’s praises are music to Yeosang's ears. While Yunho tells him he doesn't mind if the paparazzi finds out, it warms Yunho's heart that Yeosang hides it for Yunho's sake.

Chapter 4: Amnesia - SanSang

Notes:

CW: Major Character Injury, Amnesia, fake relationship

Chapter Text

Yeosang is an idol who just finished his first drama filming. Yeosang hadn't originally wanted to debut as an actor but really enjoyed getting to play his role. Fellow actor and co-star San had been intimidating at first. His experience in the field alone was amazing. But he welcomed rookie actor Yeosang. It helped that Yeosang's part was to play an Idol so it was easier for him to get into his first character. San played his bodyguard. Over time the characters slowly fell in love despite it being considered taboo.

Yeosang finished filming two days before San did, as San was the main character. San was extremely good at getting into character but sometimes it took him a while to come out of it. After he finished his filming, San skipped the wrap party in order to head home and decompress.

This was the best way for him to get out of his role and back to being Choi San. On the way home, San was in a car accident that flipped his vehicle. Someone had run the light and hit him broadside. San woke up in the hospital with a...unique form of amnesia.

"Where is he?" San demanded the moment he opened his eyes. He yanked his IVs out and shoved away the nurse who had been trying to attend to him. Feeling threatened, San held up his fists daring anyone to come near him. "Where is Ryusang?!"

"San, what's gotten into you?" San's manager tried to calm him down. The doctor explained that San seemed to think he was still in his role. Still playing the bodyguard for the Idol Ryusang. Conflicted, the manager, Seonghwa, arranged a meeting with Yeosang and his manager, Wooyoung.

In order to help San, they decided to allow him to continue playing his part. To make it easier on his mind as he was healing from the accident and hopefully....he would eventually regain his memories. San took his job seriously and at times made Yeosang's real life fans nervous.

Yeosang did his best to play his part but as time went on....he started to develop feelings for San for real. He tried not to, knowing when San did get his memories back, he wouldn't feel the same way. But maybe...things would turn out okay eventually...

Chapter 5: Coming Home - YunSang

Notes:

CW: A/B/O mpreg

Chapter Text

Omega couple Yunho and Yeosang have been married for three years. Yunho works full-time as a model & is often gone for several days at a time. Yeosang hates when he's gone and will send him photos, telling Yunho how much he misses him. But this time is even worse.

Yunho and Yeosang have wanted pups but knew that it would be difficult with both of them being Omegas. Yeosang had been seeing a clinic to have an Alpha donor mix with Yunho's eggs to be able to carry a child for them. He had said he wanted Yunho's child and this was the best way.

Yesterday, Yeosang found out he was pregnant and the doctor was confident the pup would grow well. Of course, Yunho is gone for another shoot halfway across the country. And Yeosang can't wait to tell him. It's eating him up inside. So, he sends photos, like always.

But Yunho doesn't say anything besides 'I miss you, too. You're still so beautiful every time I see you. You're practically glowing today."

Yeosang can't hold himself back and calls Yunho over video. "Yunho....I'm pregnant." Yeosang says softly.

Yunho is stunned for a few seconds. Then he is a burst of energy. He packed his things as fast as he could and yelled for his manager to get him the next flight home. Yeosang giggles over the video call that's still going. Yunho couldn't be happier. He smiles wide at his husband.

"I'm coming home right now, baby. I can't believe it....I- yes I'm coming home right now. Just wait right there in the nest. I'll be there as soon as I can."

"Travel safe, YuYu. I'll- we'll see you soon." Yeosang replied, blushing.

Yunho couldn't stop grinning the entire way home.

Chapter 6: Wolf Shifter's Bride - SanSang

Notes:

CW: Kidnapping (Sorta)

Chapter Text

Yeosang didn't know how it happened. One day he was walking home from a late shift and saw an injured man in an alleyway. He did his best to help him. He'd half dragged the man to his apartment and treated his wounds. In his delirium, the man kissed Yeosang.

Yeosang was stunned of course but didn't think anything of it even as his cheeks flushed. When morning came, the man was gone. A small rock carved into the shape of a wolf was left on the couch where the man had slept.

A few days later two men showed up and asked if he was ready.

Ready for what? Yeosang didn’t know what they were talking about. He couldn't stop them as two more entered his apartment and started packing a bag. Yeosang was ushered to a large black SUV and whisked away. None of the men asked his opinion on the matter. He'd been kidnapped!

Yeosang was brought to a large mansion alone in the middle of the forest. He must have traveled for hours to get there. The man he'd helped before was standing there at the top of the stairs. He wore a large fur coat with no shirt. White bandages wrapped around his torso.

The men took Yeosang inside and to a lavish bedroom. He didn't see the man for several more days. But the others were kind and cared for Yeosang. All except for letting him leave. When he asked why, Yeosang was told he was the Head Alpha's future mate.

Over time, Yeosang learned about the existence of wolf shifters who were capable of being human and wolf.

"No not werewolves silly." Wooyoung had told him one day.

Eventually San, the Head Alpha, finally started to answer Yeosang's questions. He explained wolf culture. How Yeosang had saved his life and in his delirium, San kissed him in thanks and courtship. He couldn't stop thinking about Yeosang and had assumed that he accepted his proposal. Of course, Yeosang is shocked. However, he cannot leave now. He has San's scent and would be in danger.

Yeosang learns to accept his life in the mansion. Eventually, feelings start to bloom between he and San. Perhaps being the Head Alpha's Mate wouldn't be so bad after all.

Chapter 7: Idol x Manager - SeongSang

Chapter Text

Seonghwa is a very famous Idol. His manager, Yeosang works hard to make sure everything goes smoothly for him. They've been together for 6 years already and Seonghwa fights daily to keep his romantic feelings under wraps. He's terrified what Yeosang would say.

Yeosang seems strait-laced when in public with Seonghwa but in private he's very easy to fluster and often is clumsy. It's amazing how different the two sides of him are. Seonghwa once found him staring at a pot of burnt noodles. Yeosang had tried making Ramen, only to fail.

Yeosang pouts when he eats. He makes little sounds when he's doing things in his home office. (Seonghwa convinced him to move in with him to make it easier to work together.) Each day, it gets harder and harder for Seonghwa not to tell him how he feels. He subtly answers interviews about his ideal type. But Yeosang doesn't seem to pick up on it.

One day. After having too much to drink. Seonghwa let it slip to his best friend, Hongjoong, that he was in love with Yeosang. Unknowing Yeosang was right behind him. Yeosang seemed stand offish for the next week.

Seonghwa is beside himself with anxiety. Finally, in a very Yeosang way of doing things, Seonghwa's manager approaches him after his schedules are done for the day. He has Seonghwa's favorite take out & a single red rose. Confused, Seonghwa tries not to think too much about it.

"I am in love with you, too."

Chapter 8: He was My First Love - SanSang

Chapter Text

"He was my first love."

San often wandered along the beach when he needed time to just exist without expectation. His job was stressful at times but he didn't mind it. He had friends whom he could see on the weekends and some week days.

Yet San was always lonely in a sense. He longed to have that one person with whom he could share everything with. His first good morning and last good night. A warmth to share his bed and every moment possible. He'd tried dating several times but never felt that desire to remain close.

Years passed and San had accepted he may never find his own true love. Until that day.

"He was my first love." San would explain when someone asked. He always had a fond expression. One filled with love and desire. The softness in his gaze would drift whenever the spoke of it.

Meeting Yeosang by chance had changed San's life. Walking along the beach, San had been surprised to see someone else. A man with wind-ruffled hair and arms wrapped around himself. His angelic smile lit up his entire face as he gazed out upon the ocean. He shivered from the cold.

San realized the man had come without a coat and without thinking he took off his own and draped it over the man's shoulders. Startled, Yeosang turned to see a concerned, and now shy and blushing, San. His honey-colored eyes stared up at San, taking him in with the ocean waves gently crashing to shore behind him. San held his breath. He didn't know what made him act so familiar. But the longer the two held their gazes, San wanted to know this man. Yeosang's cheeks deepened in color from warmth instead of cold. San's cologne wafted from his coat.

"Thank you." Yeosang said with a shy smile. "I hadn't realized how cold it was. I'm glad to finally see the ocean."

San felt like the spell broke and intensified at the same time. "The sight is far better with you in it." Surprised, Yeosang laughed with an eye-crinkling smile.

San would go on to tell how the two talked for hours. Yeosang wrapped in San's large coat. How just a few hours after meeting, they shared their first kiss. How hours turned into months then their 1000 days anniversary.

♡☆♡

"But what happened? You said he was your first love."

San smiled and walked over to his husband and pulled him close by the waist. He kissed him lovingly then turned to the man he'd been speaking to. "He is also my last."

Chapter 9: Panda in the Forest - WooSang

Notes:

CW: very brief mention of trafficking

Chapter Text

Tired and uninspired by life, Wooyoung picked up and moved to his grandfather's cabin that was left to him when he died. Wooyoung had money saved up so he figured he would just hole up there for a while and figure himself out. He always loved the peace of the forest.

Several weeks after moving in, Wooyoung was driving back from his weekly trip to town. He noticed something strange out his window and pulled over to get a better look. Wooyoung was curious by nature but was still nervous. He found a man, probably around his age, passed out. He was laying half under a large bush. His hands and face were dirty and he looked malnourished. When Wooyoung tried to wake him up, he stepped back in surprise. Two black round ears were sticking out of the man's hair. Wooyoung stared for several minutes as he tried to process.

Wooyoung then realized he could figure that out later. What mattered was getting this person taken care of. Wooyoung had heard of hybrids before but had never seen one. He knew they weren't always treated well due to their rarity. Carefully, Wooyoung picked him up and carried him to his car. It was hard with the man being dead weight, but he managed. Later that evening, Wooyoung had gotten him cleaned up with wash cloths and into fresh clothes and tucked under a warm blanket on the couch. He sat in a chair opposite and sketched in his book.

The man started to wake up and Wooyoung stopped drawing. He leaned forward and watched. He wasn't sure what to say. The man was clearly confused as he tried to figure out where he was. Wooyoung cleared his throat and the man jerked around to face him. He looked scared.

Before Wooyoung could even attempt to calm him, the man suddenly disappeared and, in his place, sat a very small panda. Far too small to be compared to the real ones he'd seen on the TV. He looked almost like a stuffed animal. The tiny panda burrowed into the blankets in a panic.

Wooyoung could do nothing but stare until it registered in his mind that the man- panda? Hybrid? Was scared. "Oh...hey uhm..." Wooyoung started to speak then knelt down. His own brain was going crazy. Was he dreaming? Why was he so calm? His heart was racing. Maybe he wasn't calm at all.

The panda trembled under the blanket then flinched when Wooyoung placed his hand on its back. He froze, not even breathing.

"It's okay. I won't hurt you. You were alone in the forest and I thought I should help." Wooyoung slowly started to rub the panda's back through the blanket.

After several minutes the panda slowly started to move again. His small head poked out and looked up at Wooyoung for a moment. He looked like he was trying to decide if it was safe enough. Wooyoung smiled gently at it and let the panda sniff at his hand before he pet its head.

Another few minutes and Wooyoung fell back onto his butt when the panda shifted back into the man he'd seen before. Definitely a shifter. Even more rare.

"I'm sorry." The man spoke and Wooyoung was shocked.

"What? Oh no don't be sorry. Everything is okay."

Wooyoung got back up and moved a little closer. He stayed on his knees though to avoid looking intimidating. "My name is Wooyoung. I live here and saw you passed out. You seemed like you needed help." The man listened. His fingers clutched tightly at the blanket and he bit his lip.

Wooyoung wondered if he would speak but didn't push him. They just sat there together for a while. "Yeosang." The man spoke again. When Wooyoung looked confused he continued. "M-my name."

"Yeosang. That's such a fitting name for you." Wooyoung smiled again.

As time went on, Wooyoung learned about Yeosang and where he came from. That he had run away from home after the people around him constantly tugged on his ears or belittled and degraded him for being a shifter. Some even tried to sell him to the hybrid market.

Wooyoung, of course, was angry and decided he would do everything he could to protect Yeosang. His favorite part though was when Yeosang would snuggle up to him in bed. Or curl up on his lap while in his tiny panda form.

Suddenly, Wooyoung wasn't uninspired anymore.

Chapter 10: Boss's Wife - YunSang

Notes:

CW: Kidnapping, minor character death

Chapter Text

Soft spoken and kind, Yeosang was beloved by everyone who knew him. He always smiled or waved to people on the street while on his way to the Cafe where he worked. Or while heading to the bookstore to purchase a new book. He was known as 'Prince Yeosang' due to his personality and his beautiful features. He wasn't truly royalty, but many liked to dream.

Yunho was the consigliere to an Italian Mafia Boss. He'd worked hard to gain his position and was feared by many of the underlings. He attended the Boss while on a trip to South Korea. The most beautiful man that Yunho had ever seen, unfortunately also caught the Boss's eye.

At first, the Boss tried to woo Yeosang but when the man refused, the Boss did things his way. Even after Yunho tried to discourage him. Yeosang found himself kidnapped and taken abroad to Italy. He was terrified, for good reason. He didn't understand anyone around him.

The Boss kept him locked up in a large, beautiful room. Thankfully he didn't do anything other than watch him. Or have him sit at his side or nearby during meetings even Yunho wasn't invited to. Just a pretty adornment to show off power.

Yunho finally had a chance to catch Yeosang alone. He approached carefully. Something about the man softened his dark heart enough to reach out. He knew it would be a risk, but he had a gut feeling.

"Are you alright?" Yunho asked. Yeosang was startled. He teared up at finally hearing his own language. Hands covered his mouth in shock.

Yunho grimaced a little and walked a little closer. "I won't hurt you. I'm sorry it has come to this. That you are trapped here like a pet. But I can help you...if you help me."

Yeosang slowly began to trust Yunho. Spending more and more time together. The Boss allowed it, only because he felt his pet needed 'enrichment'. He trusted Yunho after all.

However, despite his desire to own him, Yeosang soon became his downfall. He never thought to check him for wires or worry if he could understand the very sensitive conversations he had. Over time, Yunho found what he needed to challenge the Boss.

The fight was bloody, many died. But Yunho protected Yeosang until ultimately he reached the top. As the new Boss of the Mafia, Yunho held all the power. Those who refused to support him were killed or imprisoned.

"Stay with me." Yunho said one evening. Yeosang had been kept under guard for his protection, but he was allowed to wander the mansion, unlike before. He and Yunho, as well as Yunho's most trusted men, often had dinner together.

"What? I...I can't-"

"Please. I promise to protect you. And treat you the way you deserve." Yunho's sincerity reached Yeosang. He was scared of the world Yunho lived in, but he didn't like the idea of never seeing him again.

"I'll stay with you. But if I ever decide to leave..."

"I won't force you." Yunho assured him.

As time wore on, the two became closer and closer and eventually lovers. Yeosang, who had been kidnapped as a pet, willingly became the new Boss's wife.

Chapter 11: Light of the Moon - MinSang

Chapter Text

Yeosang was traveling in search of inspiration for his new novel. He'd been mildly successful in his writing and had a dedicated fan base. It was small, but he adored them anyway. It made him happy knowing his words brought joy to someone else.

During his travels, Yeosang heard rumors of a man who lived alone in a mansion in the forest. The rumors ranged from a cranky old man, to a monster who ate people, to ghosts. No one had ever actually seen someone.

Curious, Yeosang decided to visit the mansion. He approached and found the outside to be in relatively good condition. That meant that at least someone was taking care of the grounds. As he explored, the evening grew darker. Yeosang got lost in his curiosity and had to use his phone's flashlight to make his way back toward his car. He'd had to leave it at the gate a half mile away just to get inside. He knew it was technically trespassing, but his curiosity was just too strong. Without warning a man stepped from the bushes.

"What are you doing here?" He growled. His eyes almost seemed to glow as he glared Yeosang down. The man huffed, almost like he was in pain.

Startled, Yeosang jumped back. He couldn't come up with a good reason. Before he could answer, the man grabbed his arm and hauled him back toward the mansion. He was incredibly strong and ignored all of Yeosang's protests.

Before he knew it, Yeosang was locked in some sort of cell with iron bars.

"Wait! Let me out!" He cried.

"After the full moon." The man gruffed before he disappeared.

Confused and honestly a bit angry, Yeosang paced around the cell before he grew tired enough to lean against the wall and try to rest. He could see the full moon through the bars. It looked so large and beautiful even from the cell.

Several hours passed and Yeosang had dozed off. A loud howling scared him awake. Followed by heavy panting and the sound of claws against the wall. Yeosang looked for the sound only to be met with a snarling Wolf at the window.
Yeosang scrambled as far away as he could. Terror in his eyes as the wolf snarled at him again and gnawed on the bars.

"H-help!" Yeosang called out but instantly stopped when the wolf howled again. It left after a few minutes but Yeosang couldn't relax after the encounter.

It was mid-evening the next day before the strange man finally came back. By that point, Yeosang was tired, hungry, and angry.

"What the hell is all this?" Yeosang demanded when the man stood outside the cell. The author gripped the bars, glaring daggers.

The man looked haggard and exhausted. He unlocked the cell and stepped aside. "You should go." He said then swayed a little.

"Go? I would have left last night! You didn't have to lock me up!" Yeosang yelled at him. He bent down and snatched up his light jacket and now dead phone.

"Sorry- I just-" The man staggered again. "It wasn't safe." He led the way up the stairs with great struggle. Once they reached the foyer the man seemed incredibly pale and had to lean heavily against the wall.

Yeosang stopped his tirade and watched him a moment. The man suddenly fainted and Yeosang rushed to his side. "Hey! Hey wake up. What's wrong?" Yeosang shook the man.

Yeosang didn't dare leave him alone when he seemed to sick. Nothing made sense and Yeosang decided he wouldn't leave without answers. But first, he needed to take care of the man.

It took a lot of effort as the man was somehow incredibly heavy, but Yeosang eventually got him laid on a couch. He found a cloth and soaked it in cool water before he laid it on his forehead.

Yeosang tried to find a charger somewhere in the mansion but the man seemed to be behind the times in more ways than just technology. He noticed bits of fur in random places, too. One room had claw marks on the walls.

Yeosang was reminded of the terrifying encounter with the wolf the night before. He needed to ask if the man knew anything about the wolves.

"What are you still doing here?" The man seemed to sense his thoughts and appeared behind him. He looked a lot better than before. His hair was messy and he looked a lot more calm, yet guarded.

"You fainted." Yeosang stared at him. "I didn't- I didn't want to leave just in case."

The man huffed but nodded. "Well ah...thanks. You're not hurt?"

"Hurt? Why would I be hurt?" Yeosang looked the man over. "Oh! The wolf! Did you know about it? Are there a lot of wolves?"

The man grimaced and scratched the back of his head. "Just...just one." He cleared his throat.

********

For some reason Yeosang couldn't convince himself to leave. He stuck around day after day. Slowly befriending the strange man. He learned his name was Mingi and that he lived alone by choice.

Weeks passed and Mingi let Yeosang stay in a guest room and work on his novel. He started writing a mystery about wolves and the forest. Mingi wasn't sure how to feel about it but he didn't say much. He ended up spending more time with Yeosang while he wrote.

So much so that he lost track of time and the next full moon took him by surprise. By the time he realized, it was too late. Yeosang had fallen asleep on the couch and Mingi tried to leave. But the transformation started. He cried out in pain from trying to resist it. Yeosang woke up and looked for Mingi.

"What's happening? Are you okay, Min?"

"Stay-- back. Run." Mingi growled out before his body started to morph.

Yeosang was terrified at what he was seeing yet his legs refused to work. Before his very eyes Mingi changed from human to wolf. The same wolf he'd seen the first night in fact.

It snarled and leapt at him, pinning him to the ground. It snapped it's teeth and Yeosang tried to cover his face. "M-Mingi!"

The wolf quieted a little. It continued to pin Yeosang down but watched him. It's eyes closed under the moonlight. Trembling, Yeosang reached out. He didn't know what to think. If he hadn't just seen it with his own eyes. He'd never believe it.

"I-it's okay. It's me...Yeosang...rememeber?" The author couldn't move his body, but he was able to reach up with one hand and carefully stroke the wolf's head.

A whine greeted him then a soft nudge. Yeosang's heart raced but he continued to pet the wolf. It snarled every now and then but calmed down with Yeosang's gentle hands. It eventually let him sit up but laid across his legs for the rest of the night.

Yeosang woke the next morning with Mingi laying on his legs. Needless to say. They had a lot to talk about.

Chapter 12: Anniversary - HongSang

Notes:

CW: Mild Sexual Content

Chapter Text

Yeosang sat perfectly still and posed. The camera flash wasn't blinding anymore as he'd gotten used to it.

"Gorgeous. Tilt your head just a little- perfect!" The photographer praised as he took another few shots.

Yeosang was starting to feel tired but knew the shoot was almost finished. His stylist fixed his hair one last time. Once she was out of the way, the photographer directed him through a couple more poses.

"That's a wrap. Perfect as always, Yeosang." The photographer praised once more. He walked toward the model and helped him stand from the desk he'd been sitting on. His hand settled on Yeosang's waist with a grin.

"Maybe it’s just the talents of my photographer, Hongjoong." Yeosang replied back, not at all bothered by the man's closeness.

"Mm...." Hongjoong moved a little closer, tugging Yeosang against him. No one paid any mind except for a few giggles. "I'm only as good as my model."

Yeosang smirked even though his cheeks darkened a little. He leaned down slightly, nearly brushing his lips against the other's. At Hongjoong's hitched breath, Yeosang pulled back, placing his hand on the man's chest.

"Hongjoong-ah, you know I have plans tonight." Yeosang teased.

Hongjoong dramatically rolled his eyes and stepped back with a hand to his forehead. "No time for your photographer."

"Mm. I have to meet with my husband tonight." Yeosang poked his cheek then turned around. "It's our fifth anniversary!" He walked away and back to his changing room. Yeosang put his wedding ring back on the moment he was changed into a comfortable sweater and loose fit pants.

He wore something else underneath that he hoped his husband would like. Seonghwa helped him pick it out when he mentioned it was his anniversary. Yeosang waved goodbye to everyone as he left the studio and headed down to car he knew would be waiting for him. When he slipped onto the passenger seat he was immediately taken by surprise. A hand reached out and pulled him by the back of the neck, pressing a heated kiss to his lips.

"H-Hongjoong!" Yeosang gasped out once the kiss ended. His cheeks flames red.

Hongjoong was in a very good mood. The two drove to their shared home. Despite Yeosang trying to keep him focused, Hongjoong kept attacking him with kisses until they finally reached the apartment.

"You know, I was almost jealous of myself. Talking about your husband right in front me." Hongjoong faked a pout.

"Joong....you ARE my husband. Everyone knows that." Yeosang rolled his eyes but held up his hand and wiggled his wedding band.

"Still. I can be jealous." Hongjoong huffed then pulled Yeosang close again. "So what was that about plans? You only told me you wanted to stay in tonight."

Yeosang smiled and cupped his husband's cheek. He and Hongjoong often joked and teased. Thankfully, both of their staff were used to the antics. "Well, since you left early this morning, I prepared our room. And a little gift to celebrate five years with the most amazing man in my life." Yeosang kissed Hongjoong with a smile. He then took his husband's hand and slowly led him down the hallway toward their bedroom. Rose petals laid across the floor and led straight up to the bed.

Seonghwa and Yunho had made sure to light the candles when Yeosang said they were parking, then quickly disappeared back to their own apartment. Hongjoong was stunned to say the least. But what surprised him most was what Yeosang showed him next.

"Help me undress, love?" Yeosang asked with a shy smile. He shivered as Hongjoong's fingers snuck underneath his sweater and pulled it off over his head. Hongjoong let out a soft gasp at the sight of dark red elastic straps hugging his husband's chest tightly.

He traced his hands along the soft material and let one lightly snap back against Yeosang's skin.

"There's more..." Yeosang let out almost breathlessly.

"Spoiling me." Hongjoong guided Yeosang to lay on the bed, not bothering to shove the rose petals aside.

He then quickly made work of the pants and underwear and stared at the sight before him. His breath caught in his throat. Yeosang wore a plug with the initials 'HJ' engraved on the end. The red straps crossed down over his thighs.

Hongjoong moved his hands reverently over Yeosang body then prodded at the plug deep inside him. Yeosang couldn't stop the moan from escaping his lips. His back arched slightly and he looked at Hongjoong with half-lidded eyes. "Do you like it?" He asked quietly.

"You are the most exquisite thing I have ever laid my eyes on." Hongjoong crawled onto the bed and caged Yeosang in. "I don't deserve you." He kissed him softly, almost like Yeosang was made of glass.

"Yes you do." Yeosang pulled him down again and kissed him fervently. His heart raced as the two shared kisses. Mouths fit together perfectly as they explored one another until they were breathless. Yeosang pulled himself further up the bed then spread his legs. He beckoned Hongjoong closer with one finger. His gaze turned alluring and inviting.

"Well...what are you waiting for? Happy Anniversary, my Hongjoong."

"My most precious darling... I'm going to make a mess of you." Hongjoong ripped off his clothes as fast as he could. Yeosang giggled in excitement.

Nothing in the world made him feel more beautiful than Hongjoong's gaze in that moment.

Chapter Text

Crown Prince Yeosang was known as the “Ice Prince” by his people. His stoic gaze and lack of expressions earned him the title when his father became very ill. With the King on bedrest, it was up to Yeosang to handle affairs of the kingdom in his stead. He was never really cruel, but was firm when he made a decision. The King would sometimes overrule him, much to Yeosang’s dismay. Even with the title of Ice Prince, Yeosang cared for the people better than his father. Because of this, the kingdom also saw him as beautiful. A contradiction of cold and beauty. Like diamonds.

With the King indisposed, the Crown Prince became a target of attacks. Various instances of assassins attempting to stab him in the city, or poisonings of his food. Random incidences that could be considered as “accidents”. Yeosang feared for his life, but continued on as best as he could. It seemed the nearby kingdoms saw an opportunity and wanted to overtake the throne while it’s King was sick and it’s Prince was freshly in power.

Yeosang had a difficult time trusting anyone. Most of his father’s councilmen didn’t support him and thought of him as just a child. Only a few guards protected him but Yeosang felt it was more out of fear of what his father would do, than actual care for his life. Even his own father saw him as more a symbol than his own flesh and blood child. His mother had died when he was young and the King never forgave Yeosang for it. Falsely blaming an infant.

Sitting on the throne, Yeosang felt more alone than he ever had in his life. He couldn’t trust anyone but himself. He had sleepless nights and always had to be on alert. He would barely eat, afraid of being poisoned but didn’t dare force a maid to try it first. He wasn’t cruel enough to risk their lives for the sake of his own.

Yeosang just finished signing a decree to expand the river crossing when the doors burst open at the end of the room. Two guards dragged a man in chains toward the throne and threw the man down to the ground. Yeosang sat up, intrigued, but didn’t show the reaction on his face.

The man caught himself and straightened his back. He kept his head down, knowing better than to stare the current monarch in the face. His clothes were torn and dirty and he had a bleeding cut on his cheek.

“Your Majesty, this man was caught stealing from the royal kitchens. We believe he has been poisoning your meals.” One guard said with a smirk. He looked as if he’d caught the man red-handed.

Yeosang’s gaze fell back to the man and he tilted his head. “Do you have proof of this?” He asked.

“This bottle was found in his possession, My Prince.” The second guard held up an ornate bottle with a cork stopper. Inside, a liquid sloshed against the glass sides.

The man clenched his fists in front of himself. Something about him pulled Yeosang in. He felt there was more to his story. He didn’t look like an assassin, but there seemed to be a fire brimming beneath the surface. “I did no such thing, Your Majesty.” The man responded.

“No speaking to the Prince!” One guard kicked him to the ground.

“That’s enough.” Yeosang held up his hand. When the guard didn’t stop beating the man, he stood up and raised his voice. “I said, that’s enough!”

“Your Highness—”

“Why do you beat him like a prisoner when there has been no trial?” Yeosang demanded. He could see the man wheezing for breath on the ground, having been kicked several times in the stomach and back. Yet he tried not to be too obvious about his pain.

“There need not be a trial. This is evidence enough of his treachery.” The guard shook the bottle in his hand.

Yeosang glanced at the bottle again then held out his hand. “Bring it to me.”

The guard quickly handed the bottle to Yeosang and stepped back down to stand beside the prisoner. The man had picked himself back up but remained kneeling on the ground. Not eager to draw more attention to himself.

Yeosang looked over the bottle and its markings. He recognized them as being from a neighboring kingdom. “To which Kingdom do you belong?” Yeosang asked.

When the man didn’t immediately answer, one guard hit him in the back of the head with his hand.

“Do not hit him again.” Yeosang snapped.

The guard clicked his tongue but stepped back. Yeosang then stepped down from the throne and approached the man. “Which Kingdom?”

“Aurora, My Prince.” The man replied.

“Mm…as I thought.” Yeosang looked at the bottle one more time. He then reached down and took the man’s chin in his fingers. His touch gentle and warm as he lifted the man’s face to look him in the eye. His eyes searched the man’s and saw something in him that made him believe he could trust him. “Are you loyal to me?”

The man seemed confused at first. His eyes widened as he took in the Prince’s face. “I…I am loyal, My Prince.” He felt like he could trust the royal. He never had in his life, but that didn’t mean that he wanted to harm him. He was just trying to get food for his sick mother after he helped the merchant with his delivery. “I don’t even know where the bottle came from. Honest.”

Yeosang gave him a small smile, shocking even the guards who had never seen his expression change. Yeosang pat his shoulder then looked to the guards. “I want him. Release the chains.”

“I—You what?”

“I said, I want him. Now release the chains.” Yeosang narrowed his eyes. He’d had to repeat himself several times that day and it was starting to get irritating.

The guards looked at each other before protesting once more. “This man is charged with attempting to assassinate you!”

“He couldn’t have. He lives in this kingdom. This bottle is worth more than your wages and yet you expect me to believe this man carried it simply to poison me? All the way from Estoria? He would have been robbed blind by bandits before he made it back.” Yeosang held the bottle in his hands. “Now. I ordered you, to release him.”

Disgruntled the guards finally moved around. He jerked the prisoner’s hands toward himself so he could unlock the chains. Not at all being gentle about it. The man watched, shocked that the guards would resist the Prince’s orders. He winced when the harsh metal cut his wrist but didn’t move otherwise.

“Leave us.” Yeosang ordered. He raised his head high and watched as the guards grit their teeth and left the room.

Now, in the silence, Yeosang bent down to offer his hand to the man. “I apologize for their treatment. Please, stand.”

The man blinked, not daring to touch the Prince as he stood up on his own. He stumbled a little and kept weight off one leg as much as possible. Yeosang gave him an apologetic look. “I will have the healer take a look at you once you’ve been washed up.”

“I do not deserve your kindness.” The man bowed his head again.

Yeosang shook his head and lifted his chin once more with his finger. “I don’t know why. But I feel that you, are the only man I can trust in this castle. I want you to be my personal guard. And in exchange, your mother will be well cared for. She will have medicine and food, and a warm place to live.”

The man gaped at him. Such an offer was astronomical for someone like him. Someone who lived poorly on the edges of the city. Dirty like a street rat and even caught stealing from the palace itself. The Prince could have easily had him hanged for the attempted assassination the guards had tried to blame on him. This man was nothing like the Ice Prince he’d heard about. The various stories of a cold man didn’t align with the decrees he sent out, or the way he was looking at him now.

“Will you take my offer?” Yeosang asked. His eyes seemed so much softer now. Full of hope and desperation. A man whose life was constantly in danger. Who seemed so…lonely.

“I will protect you with my life, My Prince.” The man placed a hand over his heart.

“Please, what is the name of my personal knight?” Yeosang smiled with relief.

“Jongho, Sire.”

********

Months passed and Jongho flourished under Yeosang’s training. He assigned him to Yunho and Seonghwa, two of his guards whom he still trusted. Once his ankle had healed, Jongho took well to swordsmanship and progressed rapidly. His instincts were sharp, and more than once, he’d stopped an attack before it even came close to the Prince.

Jongho often saw sides to the Prince that no one else did. He was the only one allowed into his bed chambers. The one who was with him at all times. Even comforted him when his father had been particularly harsh. Despite his cold exterior, Jongho learned that Yeosang was a broken man who only sought to be loved. He was kind and soft and warm. Nothing like an Ice Prince at all. He wanted to protect him with his entire being. He wanted to see Yeosang smile and laugh and feel at ease. Selfishly, Jongho enjoyed when he was the only one to see these things.

Slowly, over time, Jongho began to fall in love. He tried his best not to let his feelings show. But one evening, the King had more energy than usual. He’d berated and yelled at Yeosang for making decisions the King didn’t agree with. The King continued to be selfish and Yeosang was using his immeasurable wealth to better the lives of the people. He’d beaten Yeosang, all while the Prince didn’t lift a finger to stop him. Jongho had heard it all and couldn’t bear it. Yeosang forbid him from interfering. The King would have him killed.

Once it was over, Yeosang quietly left the King’s chambers and went back to his own. Jongho followed silently behind. Yeosang went to the piano that sat dormant and plinked out a few notes with a sigh. He used to play so often but now he didn’t have the energy. Jongho’s heart broke at the sight. The beautiful soul and mind of the Prince was in danger of being destroyed by the cruelty of his own father.

“My Prince…Yeosang.” Jongho rarely used his name, even though Yeosang asked him to do so often.

“Am I really so undeserving of love, Jongho?” Yeosang asked without looking at him.

Jongho’s heart froze in his chest. For some reason, that simple question shattered him more than he could bear. He moved swiftly and turned Yeosang around with his hands on his arms. He held him and stared into his eyes. The moisture on his bruised cheeks only broke Jongho’s heart more.

“You deserve everything beautiful in this world. I only wish I was worthy of giving it to you.” Jongho’s voice cracked. “You’re too kind…too beautiful inside and out to live such a harsh reality. If only—”

“Jongho.” Yeosang spoke softly and looked up into his eyes. “Even if you don’t want to ever touch me again. Please…for tonight…can I know what love is? A simple hug will suffice…”

Jongho’s breath hitched. Yeosang just wanted a hug, but the look in his eyes made Jongho take a chance. He pulled Yeosang closer with a hand on his lower back then cupped his cheek. The way Yeosang leaned into it gave Jongho the courage he needed. He closed the distance and pressed their lips together. Yeosang didn’t resist. He melted into the kiss and new tears fell down his face.

Soft kisses progressed. Warm lips against each other as Jongho poured his feelings into them. Nothing too hurried. Just soft, gentle caresses until Yeosang finally parted and laid his head against his chest. Alone in the Prince’s room, Jongho held him close. The two swaying gently near the soft flickering flames in the fireplace and the late Queen’s piano.

“I will teach you what love is… every day. For as long as you allow me, Yeosang. I’m yours.”

Living alone had always been peaceful and calm. Yeosang preferred the quiet and solitude while tending to his spells or reading his books. The townspeople tended to be wary at best and downright uncivil at worst whenever Yeosang ventured into the town. So instead, the witch kept to himself. He tended to his gardens and prepared his potions and medicinal teas. Despite the townsfolk not liking having a witch around, they still came to him for their health needs. Yeosang did his best to get by.

He had his plants and the animals that sometimes ventured into the garden and snuggled up to him while he read beneath the trees. Yeosang liked his solitude. He really did. But there were days where the loneliness seeped in. Where sadness took hold in his heart and chilled the warmth he tried desperately to keep a hold of. Days and years passed as Yeosang kept to himself. The lone witch who lived in the woods.

A few young men once found his cottage and trashed his garden. Devastated, Yeosang did his best to bring it back to life but it took months. Some herbs were passed their growing season and it set him back with some of his tinctures.

More trouble came later in the year. Thankfully, with the help of Yeosang’s magic, he’d been able to replace everything in his garden. He had his potions prepared and settled in jars. He had crystals prepared to be energized by the moonlight.

Settled on his mat with gently falling snow around him, Yeosang focused his magical energy. He could feel the natural sources around him. The forest, the moonlight. The gentle breeze that somehow felt warm instead of cold with the falling snow. Yeosang didn’t realize he wasn’t alone.

His magic flared on instinct too late. A large rock struck him on the side of his head. The young men who’d destroyed his garden had come back with help. Yeosang was dizzy from the impact. He tried to see where they had come from but another rock hit him, this time in the side. He laid down to try and protect himself. The men came from all directions. Laughing and jeering. Calling him names, kicking him. The snow turned red around Yeosang’s fragile body as the men ran back into the forest. Laughing at the witch they’d beaten nearly to death. Leaving him with bleeding wounds in the frigid cold.

Hours passed. A thin layer of snow settled on Yeosang’s wounded body. Voices called out for the witch with no response. Finally warm hands found him. Brushing away the snow while another laid a heavy wool blanket over him. Yet another cursed at the cruelty of humans while a fourth carefully gathered what was left of Yeosang’s things. A couple of them turned him over and checked his bleeding head. One man lifted Yeosang into his arms while another covered his head with a blanket.

A traveling coven had heard the townsfolk laughing about beating a witch and teaching a lesson. The coven had moved quickly in search of the lone witch. What they found broke their hearts. They took him back to the cottage they’d seen along their way and carefully took him inside. Once they warmed him up and treated his wounds, they took turns staying at his side until Yeosang woke up.

“Oh, you’re awake. Thank the goddess.” A warm, kind voice spoke. Yeosang looked blearily at the man with silver hair framing his face.

His last memory was being the clearing & working to charge his crystals. Then pain and fear. Yet this man was the opposite. “How are you feeling?” The man asked softly. Yeosang looked at him with confusion. He could sense magic that wasn’t his own. It felt warm & comforting.

He looked around the room and saw a second man coming inside. This one was on the smaller side with a mole just below his left eye. He held a cup of steaming tea and smiled when he saw their patient awake.

“Oh, this is Wooyoung. My name is Seonghwa.” The man who’d been speaking introduced them. Yeosang looked at him again.

“You were in rough shape, I’m glad we found you when we did.” Wooyoung sat on the edge of the bed and tucked the blanket a little around Yeosang’s legs.

“I’m sorry. It must be confusing to suddenly have people in your home.” Seonghwa carefully reached out to tuck some of Yeosang’s hair back but stopped when the younger flinched. “Ah…right. You don’t know me. Habit, I’m afraid.”

“Who…?” Yeosang’s voice was ragged from his unconsciousness. “How long…”

“It’s been a few days. I’m afraid the snow has made it difficult to travel now, but we’ve thankfully been able to protect your gardens and keep the fire going.” Wooyoung replied. “I hope you don’t mind the seven of us can seem like a lot, but we’ll take care of everything.”

“Seven?” Yeosang’s eyes widened. He had no idea how in the world his small home housed seven extra men.

“We’re a coven. We’ve been traveling after a visit to our leader’s birth coven. We heard some of the townsfolk bragging about attacking a witch…I’m sorry the humans around you have been so cruel.” Seonghwa sighed.

Yeosang accepted their help quietly. The storm made travel difficult and he felt letting them stay was the least he could do.

As the days passed, he slowly started to get attached. It seemed the coven felt the same way. Before leaving two weeks later, the coven invited him to travel with them.

Yeosang was quiet and shy but the coven slowly got to know him as they helped him carry his belongings for a visit to their coven home a few towns over. His house was protected by warding spells set up by Mingi and San. Time passed and Yeosang found a home with the coven.

He found that he no longer craved solitude. The new town near them appreciated his medicinal knowledge and help and Yeosang learned that not every human hated witches. But truthfully, all that really mattered, was that Yeosang had somewhere to belong. With seven men who loved him.

Chapter 15: Auction - YunSang

Chapter Text

Months ago when Yeosang was kidnapped he never thought he would have ended up here. He's been beaten and trained for submission but he never quite gave in. A 'problematic specimen' they called him when it came time for his first auction. But that didn't matter to the men who ran the underground human trafficking ring.

Some of their patrons preferred their purchases to have a fire. Something worth sinking their time into. Someone to break. Yeosang refused to be docile. No matter how many times they beat him.

Yet he was afraid. He knew the cruelty of powerful people. How they saw those beneath them as nothing but toys for their enjoyment. He'd seen other victims broken beyond recognition. It would be so easy to give in. To let the men break him and train him into a perfect pet. But Yeosang couldn't let them win.

Months later and he was starting to lose his strength. He stopped fighting back so often. His tormentors were relentless. He closed off, becoming silent even in his pain. His eyes distant and unseeing.

Then, auction night came again. Yeosang was quiet, as he always was now. Those around him whispered and trembled in fear. But Yeosang remained quiet. It wouldn't matter if he was purchased or not. A life of misery awaited him regardless.

The auction went by in a blur until the gavel slammed down and the auctioneer yelled "SOLD". Yeosang's fate had been sealed.

He was dressed prettily and packed into a car. His new "owner" wasn't in sight. Yeosang let the men drive him away from the prison that had been his home for the better part of the year. When he reached his new home, Yeosang was greeted by kind faced men who guided him inside and to a warm bath. Left alone, Yeosang allowed himself a moment to feel. To cry for his fate and the life he could have had. He was given soft, comfortable clothes. Not at all what he had expected. Then left to his own devices in a lavish bedroom that he still didn't believe was his.

A few hours passed and a knock came at the door before a tall, handsome man walked in. He smiled brightly at Yeosang, if not a little guiltily as well. He carried a warm meal that smelled delicious and set it down at the table. Yeosang carefully approached and knelt at his feet. Fully believing this was what was expected. If he was good, perhaps he would be treated well and maybe even find a way to escape. But the man looked appalled. He quickly stood up and picked Yeosang up. Scared, he started apologizing until the man set him gently down in a chair and pushed the tray in front of him.

"I did not pay for you to be my possession, Yeosang." The man's voice was surprisingly gentle. Yeosang didn’t know what to think.

"I paid, so that you would be safe. While my men and I destroy that place to ashes."

Despite his words, Yeosang didn't trust the man for a long time. He always worried that he would be punished or locked up. Or forced to pleasure like the men trained him to do. But none of it ever happened.

He learned Yunho was a very rich man who used his wealth to chase down and destroy human trafficking rings like the one that had kidnapped and sold Yeosang.

Yunho never once forced Yeosang to do anything. Except eat on occasion, when Yeosang was refusing even basic meals. He forbid Yeosang from leaving the estate, but only for his safety. Yeosang otherwise was allowed to roam the entire premises. As long as he appeared at meals and in his bedroom at night so Yunho and his men knew he was safe.

Yunho sometimes took Yeosang with him when he went to the city. He bought everything Yeosang touched and gave him everything he could possibly desire.

Over time, Yunho became important to Yeosang. He learned that Yunho truly only wanted to care for him. To give him a beautiful life. Yunho one night confessed to having feelings for him. Even if Yeosang still barely spoke to him months after living together.

The confession settled into Yeosang and refused to let go. He started to see Yunho differently. He started to seek him out and soon found that the warm feeling he had in his presence was a sense of comfort and security. That Yunho made him feel adored and loved. He felt safe. He was treated as a precious person rather than a toy.

Yunho's rules were to keep him safe. Not to keep him prisoner. When someone got too close while in the city, Yeosang instantly latched onto Yunho for safety. The man wrapped his arm around him and stopped his business, taking him home instead of forcing Yeosang to stay in an uncomfortable place.

Yeosang started to come out of his shell. The walls he's built to protect himself crumbled slowly and Yunho learned the real person underneath. Falling more and more in love with the mischievous Yeosang. The one who could savagely snap back when Wooyoung teased. Or sometimes startled San when he appeared silently behind him. He would ask Hongjoong to teach him about computers or Seonghwa and Jongho about learning self-defense.

Eventually, Yeosang stood at Yunho's side as a symbol of overcoming the impossible. Working together to rescue those who had met a similar fate as his own. His loving partner following his every whim. How could Yeosang not fall for him, too?

Yeosang had never been purchased to be owned. He'd been given freedom and love and the chance to flourish. Yunho had given him everything.

Chapter Text

Idol Yeosang and his Manager Wooyoung had a very clear agreement. When they entered into their relationship as lovers and not just manager x Idol, they had laid out some rules. Yeosang needed them to feel okay. Most of the time he was fine. He could do his schedules and complete his work.

But sometimes when he was getting exhausted, he would get snappy and act out. Usually he would fall apart and apologize later. He hated hurting anyone's feelings and it would eat him up inside. That was when Wooyoung would firmly remind him why it was important to use his words before things escalated. Usually, their dynamic only followed them into the bedroom and never out in public. Yeosang just needed those moments where he didn't have to think or do anything and Wooyoung would take care of him.

But one day, Yeosang had been bugging Wooyoung to play despite how busy they were. Wooyoung promised him that after his concert they could take three days off and do whatever they needed to reset and recharge.

At the time, Yeosang had agreed. But the day of the concert arrived and he was feeling on edge. He had asked Wooyoung for a quick scene just to settle him enough to handle it. But Yeosang had refused to get up on time. Refused to shower, refused to eat when he needed to.

So now there simply wasn't time. Wooyoung reminded Yeosang that he hadn't done what he needed to in order to have time before the show. So now he needed to wait until after. He hated having to make him wait, but Yeosang’s career was on the line. It hadn’t caused issues for them before. Not to mention they still kept their relationship a secret. It could blow up in the media if word got out. And as much as Wooyoung didn’t mind a big fuck you to his own job, he couldn’t stand the idea of ruining Yeosang’s career.

Upset, Yeosang stormed away to get his final makeup done. Wooyoung could see it in his demeanor. Yeosang really needed the settling. But he couldn't be late to his own concert. He just hoped he would be okay until the end. Usually, once on stage, Yeosang was fine. He could push through anything and Wooyoung would be waiting to take care of him and pamper him.

Unfortunately, Yeosang decided to push boundaries during his performance. He was especially teasing and gave Wooyoung all sorts of looks whenever their eyes met. When he left stage to change, he would slide his hands along Wooyoung’s arm or back. Lean a little too close. Far too risky. Then when Wooyoung would try to warn him, he would stick his tongue out and continue on his way back to stage.

Normally, Wooyoung would chalk it up to Yeosang's stage persona but this felt different. He was challenging Wooyoung. Being an absolute brat all knowing his boyfriend/manager couldn't rip him off the stage and put a stop to it.

Wooyoung had never used his dynamic with Yeosang to punish him. He always pleasured him and made him relax which in turn, settled something inside Wooyoung. But tonight....Yeosang was really pushing it and Wooyoung wasn't about to let the bratty behavior slide. Wooyoung didn’t feel the need for his own sake. But Yeosang needed to understand that what he was doing could ruin his career as an Idol.

Finally, when the show was over, Wooyoung told the stylists he would take care of the Idol. They were happy to have an early night off and left him to it. When Yeosang showed up to his dressing room, he was surprised to find an angry Wooyoung waiting for him. He knew in that moment, he fucked up.

“What did you think you were doing?” Wooyoung asked. His hands remained crossed over his chest as he stared down the Idol who looked like a deer in the headlights.

Yeosang seemed to have a sudden clarity. “I- I.”

“Not only did you throw a fit when you know full well it’s your own fault we couldn’t do anything. But you continuously acted like a brat the entire show.”

“W-Wooyoung… I just…”

“Mm-mm. No excuses. I think you are in need of punishment. Don’t you?” Wooyoung stepped closer.

Yeosang backed up. His heart was racing both with anticipation and dread. He knew Wooyoung would never hurt him. Never do anything he wasn’t actually okay with. But he had never seen him this angry with him before either.

Wooyoung caged him against the vanity. His hands gripped the edges as he stared Yeosang down. “Now then. Since I’m nice, I’ll give you a choice.”

Yeosang blinked then nodded his head quickly.

“Option 1. We go home. You get nothing from me. No cuddles, no sharing the shower.”

Yeosang whined at that. He really hated that idea. Wooyoung held up his hand to stop his complaints.

“Or, you take your punishment like a good boy. And then, I’ll take care of you when I think you’ve learned.”

“T-that one. Please…I can’t—I can’t go another night. Please.”

Wooyoung nodded with a relieved smile. He was glad Yeosang chose the second as well. He wasn’t sure he was strong enough to deny him otherwise. “Good choice. You remember your safe word?”

“Y-yes.” Yeosang stammered out.

“Good boy.” Wooyoung then turned Yeosang around and bent him over the vanity. He pulled Yeosang’s scarf from his attire, tearing it where it was stitched to his shoulder. He then pulled Yeosang’s hands behind his back and tied his wrists together.

“What are you—”

“Your punishment, remember?” Wooyoung teased with a hot breath over his ear. He then turned Yeosang back around. The flush to his cheeks was intoxicating but he had to remain strong. They weren’t even home yet.

Wooyoung put Yeosang’s jacket over his shoulders, hiding his bound hands. He then placed his mask on for him and took him by the arm to lead him out. He carried both of their bags on his shoulder and led Yeosang out to the car. With tinted windows, he wasn’t afraid of anyone seeing inside.

He put Yeosang into the passenger seat and buckled him in securely. He then slid into the driver seat and started to leave. Yeosang remained quiet for as long as he could. He had no idea what Wooyoung had planned for him. Then suddenly, there was a pressure between his thighs.

“You were playing a dangerous game today.” Wooyoung kept his eyes on the road while his hand continued to press and knead at Yeosang’s thighs. He knew how sensitive the Idol was. He let his fingers ghost across his crotch then away again. He smirked when Yeosang jerked. This was the reason he tied his hands. No interference.

“I-I’m sorry.”

“Mm…that’s not good enough. I need you to understand.” Wooyoung this time rubbed his knuckles against Yeosang’s sensitive cock and smirked again feeling it harden while he drove and rubbed at him. “Acting like that in front of so many people…what if Dispatch figured us out? Hmm?”

Yeosang grit his teeth as Wooyoung continued to rub him into hardness. He couldn’t use his hands to relieve himself or try and block Wooyoung’s touch. He knew he could safe word out of it, but he was determined to take whatever punishment Wooyoung gave him so he could get what he truly needed before the night ended.

Wooyoung continued his tortuous ministrations all the way home while he lectured Yeosang on the importance of maintaining decorum while in public. Yeosang was in near tears by the time they reached home. He was never more happy than in that moment to know his elevator was private.

Once upstairs, Yeosang was sadly mistaken in thinking it was over. Wooyoung sat him in a chair and told him to stay there no matter what. He made Yeosang sit and watch while he cleaned up a bit. He rubbed at his cock every few minutes to make sure he stayed hard. “No cumming.”

“Wooyo—” Yeosang whined only to be hushed with a finger to his lips.

“You’re a good boy aren’t you?”

Wooyoung sat on Yeosang’s lap, grinding against him while he cleaned the Idol’s face of his makeup. Yeosang did his best not to squirm but it was impossible. Wooyoung ignored him each time. He got Yeosang all the way to the edge then stood up and walked away. Once again reminding him not to cum. Frustrated, Yeosang bit back a bratty response. He knew he messed up. He knew why Wooyoung was angry. He hated that he had brought it on himself and was feeling remorseful. He apologized over and over again through his tears.

Finally, 2 hours and 39 minutes later. The exact length of his concert, Wooyoung kissed him gently on the lips then whispered in his ear. “Good boy. Go ahead and cum for me.”

With a cry, Yeosang came into his already damp underwear and pants. Wooyoung reached around and untied his hands then took Yeosang into the bedroom where he gave Yeosang all the love and intimacy he craved until he was sound asleep from exhaustion but fully satisfied.

Yeosang had been going insane all day long. He was pent up and wanted nothing more than to have his insides absolutely demolished by his boyfriend, San. But San was either ignoring him, or just plain oblivious. Yeosang couldn't decide which was worse. He'd tried subtly hinting at San all day while they were out running errands. He would rub San's thigh in the car, only to have his hand very gently picked up then held over the center console. He tried pressing himself against San's dick, even wiggled his ass a little but still, nothing. San just carefully moved Yeosang aside and held him around the waist instead. It went on all day long. Yeosang was frustrated by the time they got home.

"I have a couple of things I need to do; will you be ok for a bit?" San asked innocently. Yeosang agreed only because he didn't want to come across as too demanding. Usually it wasn't hard at all to get San to take his clothes off & make a mess of him. But today was different.

Yeosang huffed a sigh once San was gone and went into their bedroom. He took off his pants and flopped himself on the bed. He needed a better plan. He needed to really hint to San that he wanted sex. A sound behind him drew Yeosang's attention.

San walked in with his laptop in his hand. He smiled at Yeosang laying on their bed with the entire length of his beautiful legs on display. To Yeosang's dismay he only leaned over to kiss his forehead then set his laptop down at the desk and started to work on something.

Yeosang tried to be patient. But that only lasted a few minutes. Instead, he resorted to trying to lure San into the bed. He unbuttoned his shirt and laid on his side. He propped up his head and purposefully pulled the shirt up more to reveal his hips and thin underwear.

Yeosang was slightly hard from desperation but it didn't feel as good if he did it himself. He cleared his throat & did his best to be alluring when San looked at him. San smiled & dug out his phone. "Well aren't you cute?" He took a few pictures, knowing Yeosang didn't mind.

Yeosang stared with his mouth agape. That was always a surefire way to get San to jump his bones. But San took pictures then turned back to his laptop? Time to be direct. Yeosang stood up from the bed and tore the blankets off. He wanted ravished and he wanted it now. (Of course if San really didn't want to, Yeosang would respect that, but at this point he had a suspicion that wasn't the case.)

"Sannie..." Yeosang called out as he walked over. He turned the chair around and met his boyfriend's smiling face once again.

Yeosang promptly sat down on San's lap. His legs straddled over the other's. He draped his arms around San's shoulders and tilted his head. Yeosang still didn't say anything. Instead, he rolled his hips forward, grinding against San's front.

San just stared at him with his hands resting on Yeosang's waist. He smiled that same lovesick fool smile he always did when he thought Yeosang was adorable. After a few minutes, Yeosang groaned. "Choi San if you don't get inside me in the next few minutes I will go insane!"

San's hold suddenly tightened and he stood up. His hands held underneath Yeosang's thighs as he carried him to the bed. Yeosang bounced on his back with a yelp and his face flushed deep red the moment San pinned his wrists next to his head. His dopey smile was hungry now.

"All you had to do was ask me." San smirked.

Yeosang glared. "You've been teasing me all day?!"

"Mm...maybe. But it got you all riled up, didn't it?" San's voice turned lower and he nibbled on Yeosang's earlobe. Yeosang squirmed a moment before his entire body shuddered.

"What do you say?" San smirked down at him. He loved that he managed to catch Yeosang by surprise like this. It had been hard remaining aloof all day. But to see him like this...it was worth every second of the torture.

"Please... please San." Yeosang begged with a pout.

"Good boy." San chuckled. Yeosang got what he wanted and more. San turned his body to nothing but a trembling mess. So exhausted he couldn’t even move once San finally finished with him. Yeosang woke the next morning unable to walk, his legs were trembling so much.

And then? San reduced him to nothing but a babbling mess once again. Yeosang couldn't get out of bed the entire day. But to him...it was heaven in San's arms.

Chapter 18: King's Concubine - JongSang

Chapter Text

For Jongho it wasn't easy. His father had been killed during the war and he had to take on the King's mantle before he was ready. Many didn't support a young King and Jongho had to fight hard to prove himself. He became cold and calculating while on the battlefield. By the time the war was won, Jongho was known as a fierce warrior and King.

Jongho sat upon his throne after he announced to the kingdom that they had won. He talked of great loss and how the Kingdom would now rebuild. The people reacted in many different ways. To them he was a child. Only 23 years old and suddenly he was their King. They compared him to his father. They called for more action. Things Jongho couldn't help or change. The army was exhausted and depleted. They had won, but at a great cost.

Jongho worked hard to maintain his power and keep the title of King. Even when assassins came and stabbed him in his bed, Jongho overcame them. He eventually earned the respect of the soldiers left behind. His guards protected him. Yet Jongho couldn't allow himself to relax. Not until he was in the solitude of the Diamond's chambers.

The Diamond, as the man was called, was Jongho's father's most precious concubine. It had caused a bit of a stir among the palace the moment the previous King brought home a male concubine. A prince who had lost his Kingdom and palace to the destructive forces to the north.

The King protected him, spoiled him, and treated him with more respect than his own Kingdom had. Jongho had only met him a few times. The man was far more beautiful and kind than any other Jongho had met.

At first he'd been jealous of his father. Having such a beautiful concubine. But as time wore on, Jongho learned that The Diamond only gave his father company. He listened to his stories and rubbed his shoulders. But the two were never intimate. The King had no desire to defile the ex-prince. He kept him safely locked away until the day he died.

Jongho visited The Diamond and watched as the concubine shed tears for the loss of the King. Jongho claimed him as his own concubine but took no other. Over time, they grew close and when The Diamond himself insisted on it, they became intimate as well.

That is why after a hard day, Jongho meant to go to his chambers but he'd but found himself stepping into The Diamond's chambers instead. He stood up from his chair. A book delicately placed on the side table. The concubine walked up to Jongho with a gentle smile.

"I've missed you." His honey-like voice was a balm on Jongho's mind.

The young King sighed and leaned his head into his concubine's hands. "Yeosang." He breathed out. That simple word was enough to express what he needed.

"I will take care of everything." Yeosang replied. He carefully undid Jongho's jacket and shirt, slipping them from his body. He then guided Jongho toward the large bathroom connected to his chambers. The water was kept at a perfect temperature for The Diamond, Yeosang, to use whenever he pleased.

Yeosang undressed Jongho and guided him into the bath. He undressed himself then walked around the water, adding oils to scent the steam rising from it. Jongho's eyes never left his beautiful, perfect body. Even as Yeosang stepped into the water and Jongho's waiting embrace. The King pulled him close and rubbed his hand down his back with a heavy sigh. The natural lounge in the bath allowed Jongho to lay back without fear of slipping under the water. And it gave him the chance to hold Yeosang close.

Jongho rested with his eyes closed. The oils gave the air a calm, relaxing aroma that eased some of the tension in his muscles. Yeosang watched him quietly for a few minutes before he began to gently wash Jongho with a wash cloth. As his fingers delicately traced over the scars on Jongho's body with reverence, the King let out a soft sigh.

"They must frighten you." Jongho opened his eyes and met Yeosang's.

Yeosang shook his head with a soft smile then leaned over and kissed each scar on Jongho's chest above the water. "You're beautiful." He whispered.

Jongho's heart lurched at the sincere words. He pulled Yeosang by the back of the neck and kissed him with slow, languid movements. He kissed him until the concubine was breathless and dizzy. Yeosang laid his head on Jongho's chest and his eyelids fluttered closed.

After several more minutes of holding the one person who meant the world to him, Jongho spoke again.

"Yeosang, I want you to be my consort."

Yeosang lifted his head in surprise. A male concubine was one thing, but the consort? He stared at Jongho with wide eyes. A million questions in his gaze.

Jongho reached up and stroked the side of his face. "I can think of no one else I would have at my side. None but you."

"But I--"

"You were a Prince once. No one can deny your right."

Yeosang watched him again. Their relationship had shifted and grown close during the months of Jongho's kinghood. He loved when the King came to visit him more than he really let on. He was a bird in a gilded cage, but Jongho had always made sure he was well taken care of. This offer...would expand his cage. Emotion flooded his eyes before Jongho pulled him down for another breathtaking kiss.

"Will you?" Jongho whispered against his lips. Yeosang nodded and pressed their lips together again.

Jongho smiled into the kiss. Perhaps the two of them would make a difference. The Diamond would become the Prince Consort. Jongho would have him at his side as an equal. Yeosang would have power over the Kingdom and help Jongho bring it back to its glory.

"I love you." Yeosang whispered before he laid his body against Jongho's and buried his face in his neck. His lips gently kissing the scar there.

"I love you more than anything." Jongho hugged him tightly. He took in the scent of Yeosang's hair and sighed in contentment. It may be difficult being the young King. But with Yeosang at his side, he could fight a hundred wars if he had to. He could survive the assassin's blade. And he could restore peace to his kingdom.

Chapter 19: Exiled Prince - SeongSang

Chapter Text

Yeosang woke up dazed and confused. He looked around the compartment he was sitting in. His entire body was sore and some sort of alarm was going off. He felt like his head would split in two from the sound alone. When he moved his head he felt like electric fire ran down his spine.

“Don’t move.” A very unfamiliar voice spoke from beside him.

Yeosang jerked his head to the side then gasped at the pain it gave him. He pressed a hand to his head and found bandages wrapped around his blonde streaked hair. Warm fingers wrapped around his wrist and pulled his hand away. Firm, but gentle at the same time. Yeosang looked up at the man and felt like he couldn’t breathe.

The man was like nothing Yeosang had ever seen before. He had sharp features that somehow melted into soft, high cheeks and plush lips. His hair was white as snow and slicked back over his head in harsh lines. His eyes were narrowed at Yeosang as he wrapped another bandage around Yeosang’s right hand. It was then that Yeosang noticed his injuries. The bandage around his head made sense now that he understood it. He noticed he was laying on the floor of his small ship.

The Destiny crew had been under attack and Yeosang used himself as a last-ditch effort to distract the enemy chasing them. He had the relic with him, surely they would follow. The last thing he remembered was being fired on and his ship taking damage before it started to hurtle down toward the planet below. The relic had fallen from the dash and when Yeosang reached to catch it, there had been a flash of light. And then….

“You’re lucky to be alive.” The man spoke again. He wiped his hands with a cloth he’d doused with a water capsule. He watched Yeosang for a minute. “Your ship took heavy damage before the Chromer was activated.”

“Chromer? You know the Chromer?” Yeosang blinked widely at the man.

“Mm…I should. It’s rightfully mine.”

Yeosang’s eyes widened even more. “W-wait…you’re the Exiled Prince? Park Seonghwa?”

The man grimaced and looked away. His long, lithe fingers traced the edges of the hourglass shaped relic that was now sitting on the ground next to them. He nodded his head slightly.

“Everyone believes you died after—”

“When my father exiled me, he made sure I couldn’t return.” Seonghwa sighed. His eyes flashed with hurt but the expression was quickly changed to anger.

“The Kingdom…” Yeosang chewed the inside of his cheek. “The people have realized their mistake in supporting the King. War has torn the planet apart.”

“You are from Aurora?” Seonghwa turned his gaze on the injured man before him. His sharp eyes turned soft as he watched him.

“No.” Yeosang shook his head. “But my Captain. He came from there. He doesn’t talk about it much but…he talked about you.”

Seonghwa looked at the man a moment. He watched his expressions, the way he moved his body. He could see he was still in pain, but a thirst for knowledge kept his focus. He liked him, even if he wasn’t the first person Seonghwa had met in years.

“The Exiled Prince who stood up to the King. Who dared to challenge him.” Seonghwa muttered.

“How did you end up here? Are there others?” Yeosang asked.

Seonghwa sighed and gave him a brief explanation. He explained how he found Yeosang first. He had seen the ship crash through the atmosphere then haphazardly land in a cloud of dirt and shrapnel. He’d run toward it, hoping to find survivors only to find the lone man bleeding and unconscious. The first living being he’d seen since his father used the Chromer to exile him in a pocket dimension he couldn’t escape from no matter how hard he tried. Seonghwa survived out of spite. Hoping that perhaps someday, he would find a way back to kill his father. To dethrone the tyrant King and save his people.

“I need to tell the Captain. Oh- I hope they escaped the convoy.” Yeosang suddenly realized. He stood up quickly only to sway from dizziness.

“Careful, you hit your head hard.” Seonghwa was at his side instantly. He guided Yeosang into his pilot seat. “You clearly have the Chromer. How…how did you get it?”

“Captain said it was important. My crew and I infiltrated the palace…We were almost caught. While they were fighting the guard, I managed to find it. They defeated the guards but before we could make it back to the ship more appeared out of nowhere.” Yeosang explained as he ran the diagnostic program on the ship. In truth, he’d stolen it from the hanger. Luckily, his knowledge of ships helped him understand it fast enough to escape. It might fly, but it wouldn’t be pretty.

“When I was certain they would be captured, I created a diversion. I took the Chromer and sealed them inside our ship. I started the auto-pilot and forced the ship to leave. I know they are unhappy… they may believe I’m dead.” Yeosang solemnly watched the program continue to run. A few systems were damaged beyond repair but so far it didn’t affect flight and life-support.

“Then I diverted the guards’ attention by taking the Chromer and stealing the first small ship I could find. They chased me into orbit and fired upon the ship…I lost control after a nasty hit. The Chromer fell so I tried to catch it and then—” Yeosang gestured around him.

Seonghwa nodded his head. “You activated it.” He picked up the relic and held it up for Yeosang to see. “The sand flows upward. When it’s turned, it can shift time, dimension, even enter someone’s dreams on a full moon.”

“Fascinating.” Yeosang listened intently.

Seonghwa slowly started to smile. “Fate brought you here. To me.” He looked at the younger man in front of him. “This trapped me here. Now, it will release me from this prison. How will I thank you?” For the first time, Seonghwa had hope. His isolation was over. The Chromer had survived the crash. The sand still flowed in a slow motion, swirling in the top of the glass. It’s casing undamaged and pristine. The King had thought his wayward son would never be able to reach him.

A beeping drew Yeosang’s attention. He frowned. “It will take a bit of tinkering to fly again.” He sighed.

“We’d better get to work then.” Seonghwa placed the Chromer in a secure hatch and the two set to work.

Four days passed before he and Yeosang fixed the flight drive. Seonghwa did most of the work due to Yeosang’s injury but he didn’t mind. The determination in him was enough to drive him forward. Over that time, he and Yeosang spoke of many things. Of how the Kingdom had lost so much glory under the King’s rule. How he seemed to care nothing for his people, only the power he had. Yeosang explained about his crew. Seonghwa learned all of their names except for the man whom Yeosang always called Captain.

The evening before, while they waited for the final diagnostic to run, the two shared an intimate moment in their joy. Bodies entwined like lovers would. Seonghwa was taken by the pretty science officer who had found his way to his exiled home. Yeosang, followed his heart in that moment. They fell asleep in each other’s arms and woke the following morning the same way.

Finally, when the ship was ready, Seonghwa took the Chromer from its safe location and held it in his lap. He handed it to Yeosang and held him by the shoulders. He leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his lips. “If this doesn’t work, know that I do not blame you for anything.”

Yeosang blinked, his cheeks flushed pink. He didn’t expect the kiss but it sent butterflies coursing through his entire body. His crew were also his six lovers. He knew they wouldn’t mind if he found another. But it had only been a few days. Yet somehow, Seonghwa had gained part of his heart. The way he reacted to the kiss was proof of that. It seemed to mean so much more than a single one-night stand.

“H-how…” Yeosang cleared his throat. “How do I…”

“I will fly the ship. As we reach the atmosphere, you need to put all of your energy into thinking of your crew. Of the Destiny ship. Then, turn the glass. It will free us from this dimension and hopefully…put us near your ship.”

Yeosang swallowed hard and nodded his head. Seonghwa leaned forward and kissed him once more. He stroked the side of Yeosang’s head softly, resting his hand on his cheek. “No matter what happens, you’ve already saved me from this solitary prison.”

Seonghwa then turned his attention to flying the ship. Yeosang held the Chromer in his hands. The ship rattled to life and within moments was airborne. It was rough and not perfect. The inertial dampeners didn’t have enough power due to a re-route they had to do for the flight drive.

“Hang on. Turn it when I say.” Seonghwa gave a bright smile to Yeosang then started the ship upward.

The ride was shaky and rough. Yeosang gripped the relic for dear life. He closed his eyes and focused all of his energy on the Destiny. On the medical officer who first introduced him to the crew, Wooyoung. To the pilot, Yunho, and navigation officer, San. To the engineer Mingi and ex-army Jongho. And finally to his Captain-

“Now, Yeosang!”

Yeosang turned the hourglass, the sand started flowing the other direction. A bright flash of light swallowed them and the ship broke through the atmosphere. For a while it felt like they were free-floating. Minutes passed.

Seonghwa gasped and unbuckled himself from the seat. He could feel it. He could see it had worked. He was in space again. The planet that served as his solitary confinement was gone. “We did it…Yeosang we did it!” He turned to the other and quickly pulled his face toward his own, smashing their lips together.

Yeosang nearly dropped the Chromer in his surprise. He felt moisture drip to his lips and realized Seonghwa was crying. A beeping on the console forced them apart. Still stunned, Yeosang fumbled with it for a moment before the incoming message was received.

“Ship C-1024, state your intentions.”

Yeosang’s own tears formed at the sound of his Captain’s voice. He pressed a button. “It’s good to hear your voice, Captain.”

“Yeosang?” Two more voices joined in as well as the crew realized their lost member was alive. “By the gods, Yeosang I thought we lost you.” The Captain was choked up with emotion.

“I’m sorry, Captain. I—” Yeosang tried to respond.

“We’ll talk once you’re on board. You’re clear to land in the bay.”

“Yes, Captain.” Yeosang looked at Seonghwa with a smile. The Prince nodded his head and directed the ship as per Yeosang’s directions.

Once the ship was safely inside and parked in an open space, the door was opened and Yeosang barely stepped out before two bodies slammed into him. He winced a bit but melted into their hold. “Wooyo….San.” Yeosang cried in relief. Two more sets of arms wrapped around them and he knew the twin giants had joined them. Jongho’s hand rested on Yeosang’s shoulder.

Seonghwa watched them with a conflicted smile on his face. He’d fallen a bit for Yeosang but knew he had his crew of lovers. It made him happy though to know Yeosang had a home to return to.

“My Yeosang.” The Captain spoke from beyond the group.

“Hongjoong.” Yeosang’s voice broke as he moved from the others and into his Captain’s arms.

“Don’t ever…do that again.” Hongjoong whispered into his hair as he held him close. He cupped Yeosang’s cheeks and kissed him desperately.

Seonghwa gasped softly at the sight of him. Yeosang had mentioned his Captain came from Aurora. But he’d never said his name until that moment. It was a name Seonghwa knew well. But upon seeing his face, ten years older, he still knew him.

“I found someone.” Yeosang pulled away and Hongjoong looked up.

The two stared at each other for several seconds. Seonghwa knew he recognized him. He gave a melancholic smile. One filled with hope and pain. Hongjoong had fled the kingdom before Seonghwa’s exile but he still believed he would never see him again. Somehow, Yeosang had done so much more than save him.

“Seonghwa…you’re alive.” Hongjoong breathed.

Seonghwa moved closer and smiled softly at him. “It’s good to see you after all these years, Hongjoong.”

Chapter 20: Mermaid - Yeosang meets Ateez

Chapter Text

Yeosang lived alone for as long as he could remember. His pod had all perished when he was young and he'd been forced to grow up quickly. He scrounged for food along the ocean floor and holed up in a cave ahead the rocky cliffs. Safe from human hands.

Yet, even as he grew older, Yeosang's curiosity never died. He would take his satchel that he'd weaved out of seaweed and explore. Sometimes traveling weeks away from his home in search of treasures and new adventures. On occasion, he would meet other mermaids, but never stayed.

Yeosang collected shining objects that were left behind by human ships. He discovered a strange tube that when lifted to his eye, allowed him to see great distances. Another that had a small spindle that seemed to always follow the North star.

Yeosang told the fish and other animals that he came across about the beautiful places he'd seen. The islands he discovered and caves he'd searched. Then one day, a ship appeared on the horizon near his home cave. Yeosang watched it curiously, half hidden by the cave wall.

The ship seemed to have been in a battle. The mast was splintered and the sails were torn and flapping uselessly in the wind. Yet, Yeosang could hear the crew singing and laughing together. Somehow, a human song drew him in. Yeosang had never approached humans before. His pod had been killed by them after all. But something about the voices on the ship made him eager. Yeosang waited until dark before he ventured out of his cave. He swam up to the ship and was surprised that someone was leaned over the edge and staring down at the water.

"Hello there, beautiful." The man said softly. At first, Yeosang was scared, but the man didn't do anything else. He just watched him with a small smile on his lips. He told Yeosang he was named San and the other men on the ship were his family. His lovers. None would harm him.

Yeosang watched San for a while before he dove back under water. He'd heard the men talking about needing supplies and he knew he had a few things they may need. When he returned, San was still leaned over the railing. The pirate smiled when the pretty mermaid returned.

Yeosang offered his things by holding them out of the water. San was surprised but gratefully took them. While the ship anchored and was repaired, Yeosang visited it every day. Some of the pirates even jumped into the water to swim around with him. Yeosang never said much, but the men didn't seem to mind. Especially the one called Wooyoung.

Days passed and the ship was finally repaired and ready to sail. Yeosang looked longingly up at the sails as they were properly fastened back to the strengthened mast. He'd helped sew the large holes himself.

The Captain leaned over the railing. "Yeosang!" He called out. The mermaid swam toward him and looked up with confusion. The Captain could see the longing in his eyes. He grinned at the mermaid below and held out his hand as if he could reach him far below.

"Will you join us?"

Chapter 21: I Will Marry You - HongSang

Chapter Text

Yeosang breathed in shakily while he sat ramrod straight in his chair. He stared in the mirror watching as Wooyoung and Seonghwa worked to dress him up.

In just a few short hours he was to infiltrate the ball held by the King. His son, Prince Hongjoong, was supposed to select a bride. Yeosang was the rival King's only son. His father had sent him with his guard and attendant to complete a mission. To assassinate Aurora's crown prince.

Yeosang hadn't wanted to, but his father demanded it. He could not deny the King when it was commanded of him.

"You look far prettier than any princess." Wooyoung finished pinning the dainty tiara to Yeosang's hair.

"I do not understand the need to dress as a woman." Yeosang sighed then grimaced as Seonghwa pulled his corset taut. "How do I even move in this?"

"It is easiest to get close to a Prince looking for a bride, when you look like a princess." Wooyoung placed his hands on his Prince's shoulders. "You can do this. And then Seonghwa will make sure you leave the ball safely and we will return to Horizon."

Seonghwa stood in front of Yeosang and knelt in front of him. "Do you have your dagger?"

"Yes. Doused in poison." Yeosang moved one of his skirts to reveal the dagger that hung from a cord at his waist. Its sheath protected him from any accidental injury.

"Good. You know what to do." Seonghwa placed Yeosang's cloak over his shoulders and heavy dress.

The disguise was quite believable due to Yeosang's beauty. Wooyoung's skill with makeup and the feminine clothing made it perfect. Now it was up to Yeosang to get the Prince's attention.

The ball was a beautiful affair. Decorated lavishly with all manner of food to keep the guests well fed. Prince Hongjoong watched the guests dance and mingle amongst themselves. He had danced with a few princesses before but had grown tired of the overly done compliments in attempts to gain his favor.

He never wanted the ball to begin with, but as all children are, he was subjected to the whims of his father. He sat on his throne, taking a break when he saw another princess enter with her guard. Hongjoong's lips parted in awe. Even at the distance and with a dazzling masquerade mask covering her eyes.

She had beautiful blonde hair that was curled delicately around her face. A sparkling tiara on her head. She walked with grace into the room hands folded lightly against her stomach which was cinched into a corset covered in lace. Her guard whispered in her ear then moved away. Hongjoong stood up and made his way through the crowd.

Hongjoong skirted around two giggling daughters of one of the dukes Hongjoong couldn't remember the name of. He stepped passed two gossiping mothers then finally made his way to the princess who had caught his eye.

"Princess." Hongjoong spoke the moment he reached her side. His fingers brushed her arm and she turned with a soft gasp. "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. I was just...I don't think I've seen you here before."

The princess looked at him a moment. She seemed nervous so Hongjoong smiled gently and offered his hand. The Princess didn't respond but lifted one slightly trembling hand and laid it delicately into Hongjoong's outstretched hand.

Yeosang hadn't expected the Crown Prince to find him so quickly. He had barely been in ballroom before he appeared right in front of him. Yeosang tried to settle his nerves but didn't have the time. Seonghwa had stepped away to check the area and he was on his own. Wooyoung was with the other royal attendants in a separate room.

Hongjoong's hand was warm as he led Yeosang to an open space on the dance floor. He pulled him close with his hand on Yeosang's waist. Thankfully, Wooyoung had given him lessons in dancing before the mission.

Hongjoong led them in a dance. Yeosang's dress swirled around them as they spun to the music. Yeosang couldn't look Hongjoong in the eye. Not after knowing what he was expected to do. He just needed to figure out a way to get him somewhere private. If it wasn't for the damned corset he could move and even think better.

'Wait...the corset.' Yeosang had a sudden idea.

After another spin Yeosang purposefully stumbled. He gasped for breath and pressed a hand to his stomach over the corset.

"Are you alright?" Hongjoong asked with concern. He carefully supported Yeosang with a hand on his waist.

Yeosang pitched his voice higher. "A-air...." He gestured toward the balcony.

"O-oh! Is your corset too tight? I can ask your attendant--"

"No. Just...air." Yeosang started to move. Just as he'd hoped, Hongjoong walked with him out to the private balcony. The guards allowed them out then closed the doors to keep other guests from interrupting their prince.

Hongjoong helped Yeosang lean against the railing and stepped back. He watched the princess as she worked to catch her breath.

Alone with Hongjoong, Yeosang's heart started to race. Why couldn't Seonghwa or someone else entirely do what the King ordered? Yeosang turned away and grit his teeth. He was the Crown Prince. He had to prove his worth to his father. This was the end of the line for him if he didn't. He would be tried for treason...failure to follow orders. Seonghwa and Wooyoung would be banished or killed as his servants.

Yeosang fumbled in the skirt of his dress. The mask suddenly felt too hot against his face. He could barely breathe and the corset wasn't helping.

"Princess, are you alright?" Hongjoong sounded closer than Yeosang realized. He quickly pulled his dagger and turned. The blade held beneath Hongjoong's throat.

"Do not come any closer." Yeosang forced himself to be strong. He had to do this, no matter how much he wished he didn't have to.

Surprised, Hongjoong halted. He could feel the metal beneath his chin. He stared at the Princess in front of him. Many thoughts coursed through his head. Betrayal, espionage. Who could be behind this? Was in Horizon, or another kingdom? Someone from his own?

"What are you doing?" Hongjoong whispered but didn't move back. Something in the princess's expression made him pause it was as if she didn't want to do this.

"I'm sorry." Yeosang whispered. His voice no longer pitched up. "I have no other choice." He shook his head.

Hongjoong's eyes widened. When the princess moved her head he saw something he hadn't seen since he was a child.

"You....you're not a princess." Hongjoong breathed out.

"No. I've come to-"

"Yeosang..."

The Horizon Prince froze at the sound of his name. He had never met Hongjoong as far as he was aware. He staggered back in shock. The tip of the blade barely nicked Hongjoong as he did but neither one realized it.

“It’s you, isn’t it?” Hongjoong stepped closer but Yeosang held up the dagger once more, holding it between them.

“Do not come any closer to me.” Yeosang’s hands trembled from his nerves. This wasn’t supposed to happen. He needed Seonghwa to find him and get him out of there. Now that Prince Hongjoong knew not only that he was trying to kill him, but also his name, things could turn dire for everyone Yeosang cared about.

“Yeosang, Crown Prince of Horizon.” Hongjoong spoke. As he did, realization dawned on him. Their kingdoms had been on the verge of war. Hongjoong was soon to be named King once he had a bride. His father would still remain as his council, but the man was older that most and would prefer to retire rather than die before he could help his son take his throne.

“Your father… He wants me dead, doesn’t he?”

“How did you—” Yeosang couldn’t stop himself from asking.

“Horizon and Aurora. Our…Yeosang our mothers used to be the closest of friends. My mother brought me with her when we were children. I—Your birthmark, I knew it was you.”

Yeosang’s eyes widened. He remembered a young boy whom he’d played with no more than three or four times before Aurora and Horizon’s Queens were assassinated by soldiers from Illusion. The Kings blamed each other since the Queens and their sons were near the border between Aurora and Horizon at the time. Their strained relationship lasted long enough to stop the war with Illusion, absorbing the Kingdom into the two others once the King was imprisoned.  But after that, the two Kings couldn’t let go of their anger and loss. Yeosang’s father especially couldn’t let go of the blame he placed in Aurora’s hands. It was their guards who allowed the assassins inside. It was their lands.

Until Hongjoong told him, he didn’t even remember him at all. He’d known the boy as ‘Jccngie’ back then. Yet, the murder of his mother had traumatized Yeosang enough that he blocked it all out. His father despised his newfound anxiety and called him weak. He was unfit to be a King. This was the reason he forced Yeosang to take on this mission. To kill the Crown Prince before he took over the throne, leaving Aurora with no heir.

Now, seeing Hongjoong standing in front of him…Yeosang didn’t know what to think. He never wanted to kill him, even before he knew who he was. He didn’t want to do this. Something neither of the princes had any control over. Something that left them both without their mothers. An event that changed allies into enemies almost overnight. That separated Yeosang from his friend 'Joongie'.

“Prince Hongjoong, I—”  Yeosang dropped the dagger.

“It doesn’t matter. Yeosang, I can help you.” Hongjoong took his arms and pulled him close enough to speak in a low voice. “He’s threatened you, hasn’t he? I can protect you. I can—”

“Hongjoong, wait we can’t— If my father finds out he’ll arrest me for treason! He- he’ll kill my guard and attendant. They are my only friends.” Yeosang started to panic. He couldn’t kill Hongjoong, but he couldn’t allow his father to kill the only two people left in the world that mattered to him.

“I’ll protect you. I’ll find a way.” Hongjoong looked at Yeosang with a serious expression.

Ever since the first day he’d met him, Hongjoong had told his mother he was going to marry the pretty prince. She laughed and said princes couldn’t marry each other, but Hongjoong was determined. He said it didn’t matter as long as allies were made. She believed it was just the adorable determination of a child. But Hongjoong had never forgotten. He’d tried to reach out to Yeosang over the years but his letters never made it. He never heard from Yeosang again.

And now here he was, standing right in front of him. Looking just as beautiful as the day they’d met. Even with the feminine clothes now covering his body, Hongjoong only saw the prince before him. The pretty pink birthmark near his left eye. The blonde curls around his face. Yeosang was right in front of him. And Hongjoong wasn’t about to let him go.

“He’ll send for me. He’ll find a reason to blame you. He’ll say you kidnapped me.”

“Then that’s what I’ll do.” Hongjoong said. His tone turned serious and he gripped Yeosang’s arms just a little bit tighter. “Or better yet. Perhaps the ball tonight was successful. Perhaps I found my bride. Or groom, you can be that—it doesn’t matter. If I marry you, you’ll be my consort and he won’t be able to force you back to Horizon.” Hongjoong shook his head. The words were semantics really.

“Marry me? Hongjoong have you lost your mind?” Yeosang tried to pull away from him but Hongjoong held firm.

“I can protect you. I can keep him from taking you away. I won’t let your father separate us again. Yeosang…please.”

Yeosang stared at Hongjoong. He blinked a few times wondering when the joke would end and the prince would laugh and have his guards arrest him. But Hongjoong held his gaze firmly and with a desperation that Yeosang hadn’t expected. For a moment he wondered if Hongjoong really could help him. If his father would even allow it.

After a moment, Hongjoong seemed to grow dizzy. Yeosang reached out instinctively to support him. To Yeosang’s horror, a small trail of blood dripped down Hongjoong’s throat. “You’ve been cut!”

“It’s fine—”

“No! T-the dagger was poisoned.” Yeosang began to panic. He finally had hope only to see it slowly slipping through his fingers. He realized in that moment, it didn’t matter if he was arrested for attempted assassination, he needed to get Hongjoong help. Hongjoong realized it as well and raised his voice.

“Guards!” Hongjoong yelled suddenly before he slumped against Yeosang. The prince in disguise was the only thing holding him up.

The guards burst out onto the balcony and ran to their prince. Hongjoong’s face had gone pale and he was breathing heavily. They pointed their swords at Yeosang, seeing him as the only other person there with the Prince.

“Step away from the Crown Prince!” One ordered.

“No…” Hongjoong forced his head up. “Not him…”

The guards seemed confused but hesitated. One moved closer and Hongjoong waved his hand toward the railing’s edge.

“An assassin…someone tried to kill Prince Yeosang…they fled. I was hurt trying to protect him.” Hongjoong coughed and slumped a little more.

“Hongjoong, what are you doing?” Yeosang whispered to him. He helped Hongjoong to the ground while the guards started to send orders to search the gardens below. Another ran to fetch the palace healers.

“I said…I would protect you.” Hongjoong reached up and brushed Yeosang’s hair away from his face. “Please….let me?”

Yeosang felt tears down his face. He hoped the healers would be able to help him. He needed Hongjoong to survive. Not for himself, but because Hongjoong was a good person. Someone who deserved so much more than to die like this.

“Okay…” Yeosang whispered again.

“Your Highness.” Seonghwa appeared on the balcony. He’d heard the commotion and rushed to rescue his Prince. He saw Yeosang with tears down his face and holding a barely conscious Prince Hongjoong in his arms.

“Hwa…what do I do? Please…he can’t die.” Yeosang looked heartbroken. Seonghwa looked between him and the way Hongjoong was cupping Yeosang’s face. The way he looked at his prince made Seonghwa trust him.

“The antidote. I made sure to have it in case of emergency.” Seonghwa quickly moved forward, digging into his pockets. He produced a small vile and uncorked it. He tilted Hongjoong’s head back and poured it down his throat. He held his mouth closed until the man choked it down.

“He’ll be alright. The poison didn’t have enough time, the cut is small.” Seonghwa sounded sure but Yeosang was still terrified.

Hongjoong gagged on the taste. His vision was growing dark but he refused to let go of Yeosang’s hand that now rested on his chest. He squeezed his fingers and looked up at him. The moon was full behind Yeosang and he was the most beautiful vision Hongjoong had ever seen. If that was the last thing he saw before death took him, he would be okay with it. But, he had a Prince to protect.

“Yeosang…I promise…when I wake up.” Hongjoong stared into Yeosang’s eyes. “I will marry you.”

Yeosang sobbed and pulled him close, hugging Hongjoong to his chest. He buried his face in his neck as he held him. He felt Hongjoong weakly hug him back and whisper promises into his ear. Yeosang believed him. He had to. There was nothing else he could hope for.

“I’ll be waiting, Joongie.” Yeosang whispered in return.

Chapter 22: Christmcs Movie - SanSang

Chapter Text

San was running late to the work holiday party. He'd chosen to stay late and finish a project instead of going home to an empty apartment. This time of year was something he dreaded. Seeing couples everywhere when he was still single as the day he was born.

It wasn't that he couldn't get dates. He just...never felt that spark with anyone. Anyone he dated didn't last long. San didn't want to admit it was because his heart already belonged to someone. A man who probably didn't even know he existed.

Kang Yeosang was the perfect man. He always looked so put together. Always had his hair styled just right. Clothes immaculate. Skin glowing like he had his own personal light source. His smile was brighter than the sun and his laugh could heal every ache.

Yeosang was so far out if San's league he doubted the man even knew they sometimes shared an elevator.

San sighed and sipped the last dregs of coffee. He didn't know where it came from. It had been delivered to his desk with a cute Christmas note. A little tiny cartoon character drawn in the corner with a star shaped signature of sorts. Why someone signed in English was beyond him.

San didn't know who had been giving him small gifts and coffee day to dag. He just assumed it was one of the ladies in his department who were always giggling with each other when they thought he couldn't hear.

San pulled on his winter coat and left the building. He walked down the street, only needing to go a couple of the blocks to the restaurant where the party was held. He figured he would show his face for maybe an hour and grab some food before he headed back home.

When San approached, he noticed a small group of people surrounding one of the tree decorations. Pretty lights lit up the area while the group took photos of one another. San stopped when he realized who's turn it was.

Yeosang looked so cozy in his cream colored sweater and cute red bunny ears. An odd combination considering he was posing with a Christmas tree. But to San he looked just as beautiful as always.

San stood on the sidewalk heavily debating if he was brave enough to walk passed them. Yeosang laughed at something Wooyoung said while Yunho took another photo of him. Mingi told him to hug the tree and Yeosang was so adorably awkward that San's chest ached.

While he gathered up the courage to either leave or just walk passed, Yeosang's eyes landed on San. His eyes lit up brighter than the lights around him.

"Sannie!" Yeosang called out and bounded away from the tree and the group of people. Wooyoung and Seonghwa giggled to each other as if sharing some big secret.

San looked like a deer in the headlights. He stood frozen in his spot as Yeosang walked up to him. His cheeks were a bit rosy from the cold.

"I'm so glad you came! I was hoping you would." Yeosang grabbed San by the arm and pulled him inside where it was warm. "Did you like the coffee?"

San sputtered and gave him a confused look. "C-coffee?"

Yeosang nodded. Despite his excitement he suddenly turned shy. He bit his lower lip and fiddled with his fingers in front of himself. "Yeah...I don't know your favorite...I was trying to figure it out but no one would tell me." He pouted.

"You...you're the one who's been giving them to me?" San looked dumbstruck.

"Told you he didn't know." Wooyoung teased as he led the rest of the group away. San followed them with his eyes but when he turned back to Yeosang he saw the older man blushing a deep red.

"I... I'm sorry. I guess I was too subtle."

"No! No...it's uhm...it's okay. I didn't think you even knew who I was." San admitted. He felt a little bad but part of him selfishly loved that he could see this side to Yeosang. To actually be speaking with him.

Yeosang suddenly slapped his hands over his red cheeks and shook his head. San was shocked watching him until Yeosang looked him right in the eye.

"I want you to go out with me." Yeosang blurted out. His eyes widened and he scratched the back of his head. "I - I mean if you want to. You don't have to. I'm being weird aren't I?"

San stared at him as he stammered on nervously. Did he just hear that right? He interrupted Yeosang's tirade.

"You don't have anyone?"

Yeosang stopped and looked up at him again. The Christmas lights shone in Yeosang's hopeful eyes. He looked ethereal. More so than ever before.

"I... I was waiting for you..." Yeosang replied shyly. He then let out a heavy sigh and reached out for San's hands. "But this year...I couldn't wait anymore. I don't want to spend Christmas alone. And...I was hoping you wouldn't want to either..."

Overcome with emotion San quickly pulled Yeosang into a crushing hug. The other giggled at his reaction and hugged him tightly back.

"Yeosang...I- yes! Oh my- yes. A thousands times yes!"

San couldn't believe it. Yeosang not only knew who he was but he...but he liked him, too.

Maybe those cheesyChristmcas movies were on to something after all.

Chapter 23: Christmas Kitty - WooSang

Chapter Text

Wooyoung gathered everything he needed and set it down on the floor of his living room. Ribbons and bows, wrapping paper, tape…..aha! Scissors. He carried out the gifts he’d gotten for his group of friends for Christmas. He kept Yeosang’s hidden away though, knowing he could come out of the room at any time and ruin the surprise.
Last time Wooyoung checked on him, Yeosang was fast asleep in a patch of sunlight that had warmed up the bed. Nestled in his favorite blanket. He figured he had a bit of time before Yeosang ventured out.

Wooyoung set each gift out and wrote the tags first to keep everything straight as he wrapped them up. Soft music played in the background, the tree was lit up with soft, multi-colored lights adding to the warm, cozy feeling.

Wooyoung set his mug of cocoa on the side table next to him picked up the first present. Wooyvcng hummed along to the music while he measured and cut the paper. He then carefully folded it around the box of Legos he’d bought for Seonghwa. He hoped he picked up the right one and not one his hyung already had in his collection. He kept the receipt, just in case.

Wooyoung was about halfway through when he felt two small paws press into his thigh and a curious kitten nose peek out underneath his arm. The sleek, black kitten meowed softly as he watched Wooyoung tie a ribbon around the gift and thread it through the hole in the tag.

“There.” Wooyoung smiled and looked down at the kitten halfway in his lap. He reached down and stroked his soft head and cooed. “Hi, Yeosang. Did you have a nice nap?”

The kitten looked up with his pretty eyes and let out an answering ‘ meow ’. Yeosang started to purr and rubbed his side against Wooyoung’s arm and chest until the man pulled him into his arms.

“Are you going to help me?” Wooyoung laughed when Yeosxng licked his chin with his rough tongue. “Oh. I need to wrap the best gift of all.”

Wooyoung set Yeosang down and rolled out more paper. He then set Yeosang down in the middle of it and guided him to loaf with his legs safely tucked inside. Yeosang meowed curiously while he patiently let Wooyoung wrap the paper around his body and secure it with tape. To finish off his kitty present, Wooyoung placed a red bow on top of his head.

“There…so cute.” Wooyoung snapped a couple of photos with his phone then giggled at Yeosang’s tail slowly swishing back at forth. He leaned down and nuzzled Yeosang’s face with his nose. “You’re the best present I could ever ask for.”

Yeosang licked Wooyoung’s lips and nose before he started to rustle in the paper. Wooyoung sat back on his heels, watching him. “Are you going to shift and help?”

Instead of answering, Yeosang finally tore free from the gift wrapping and slithered his way inside the tree. He climbed up the trunk, careful not to knock anything off. He still felt bad about the glass ball he’d broken a few days ago.

Wooyoung had promised him that it didn’t matter, but it was Yeosang’s first Christmas with him and he had already messed something up. Wooyoung had then cleaned up the pieces and cuddled Yeosang while they watched a Christmas movie.

“Don’t hurt yourself.” Wooyoung sighed fondly. Having Yeosang around had changed a lot for him. And all of it was for the better. He hadn’t really ‘adopted’ the cat shifter, but rather gave him a place to live. He insisted on calling them roommates and treated Yeosang just like any other person. Except, he preferred to be in his cat form quite often. But Wooyoung didn’t mind. Yeosang was slow to warm up to him and each day got a little better.

Wooyoung watched Yeosang until his precious little head poked out of the tree. His smile widened and he took a few more photos. Yeosang looked so cute with the lights reflected in his eyes. He recalled when the kitten had gotten himself tangled up in the lights when Wooyoung first got them out to decorate. He’d taken pictures then, too.

Wooyoung left Yeosang to his devices while he finished wrapping up the gifts. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a fuzzy black blur scamper back down the hallway. Wooyoung laughed to himself at Yeosang’s antics.

A few minutes later he heard noises down the hallway but wasn’t quite sure what it was. “Yeosang, do you need help?”

A meow then a more human sounding huff responded. “N-no thank you!” Yeosang’s voice was still a bit of a surprise but one that Wooyoung adored.

Wooyoung sipped the rest of his cocoa as he watched Yeosang walk out timidly with his hands behind his back. He was dressed in the soft, cropped sweater San had given him and a cute beanie with kitty ears from Yunho. He looked adorable with his pink cheeks as he shyly approached.

“I uhm…couldn’t get the wrapping right but…Hwa hyung said it would be okay.” Yeosang thrust a package toward Wooyoung. The paper was ripped and wrinkled with way too much tape holding it all together. To Wooyoung though, it was perfect.

Wooyoung took the gift delicately in his hands and set it in his lap once he shifted to sit with his legs crossed. He pat the floor in front of him and watched Yeosang sit down in front of him. The excitement was certainly getting the better of Yeosang as he struggled not to open it for Wooyoung.

“You’re so cute.” Wooyoung started to put the present under the tree to wait.

“No- open it now.” Yeosang looked desperate. “Please?”

“Don’t you think we should wait for Christmas?”

“I-I’ll…uhm…” Yeosang looked like he was about to burst.

“Alright, alright. Here, I’ll open it.” Wooyoung laughed when Yeosang relaxed.

Wooyoung opened his gift only half way before he realized what it was. He froze for a moment then looked up at Yeosang who was watching with a nervous expression. Wooyoung carefully finished unwrapping the present and held up the box in awe.

“Yeosang….how did you…why…ah…how did you know?” Wooyoung looked up at the shifter.

“Hwa hyung told me that you really like photography. And that your camera broke. But…but you spent the money to pay the shelter so I could come home with you.” Yeosang fidgeted anxiously.

“How did you even get the money? You don’t work.” Wooyoung gave Yeosang his full attention.

“Oh! Hongjoong hyung said that I could do little jobs and he would pay me. Seonghwa hyung did, too. And then the others, too. And then San helped me pick one out for you!” Yeosang clasped his hands together in front of his chest. “Do you….do you like it?” His voice grew softer with worry.

“Oh- Yeosang. Of course I do. I love it! You must have worked so hard for this. Ah- when?”

“Oh…when you took me to stay at their houses. I just helped with things around until you came to pick me up.”

Wooyoung watched Yeosang with even more fondness. His eyes grew moist at the fact that his precious Yeosang had worked hard to get something like this for him.

“Thank you, Yeosang. This is the second best gift I’ve ever gotten.” Wooyoung set it down and moved closer so he could pet Yeosang’s head.

“The second best?” Yeosang pouted. He was glad Wooyoung loved it. His chest swelled with pride.

“Of course. I told you earlier.” Wooyoung looked around the floor then found the red bow he'd put on him earlier. He smiled and stuck it back on Yeosang’s head next to one of the knitted ears. He then kissed his forehead and smiled at the cute blush on the kitty shifter’s face.

“Yeosang, you are the greatest gift in my life.”

Yeosang sniffled once then wrapped his arms tightly around Wooyoung’s neck. He buried his face into his neck then rubbed their cheeks together like cats often did.

“You’re my best present, too! I get to live here and be with my favorite person every day.”

Wooyoung smiled fondly at Yeosang. He loved that little kitten so much more than he ever imagined. He giggled when Yeosang’s happiness got the better of him and he shifted back into his small kitten form. He rubbed his body against Wooyoung then climbed into his lap and looked up at him with adoring eyes.

Wooyoung pet him then reached for the camera and started to open it. “Well, then. Yeosang. What do you say to a Christmas  photoshoot? I think everyone would love cute pictures of their favorite kitten.”
Yeosang meowed and stretched his body out so he could give him kitten licks to his cheeks.

“Okay, okay.” Wooyoung laughed. He picked up Yeosang and the two spent the rest of the day dressing Yeosang in cute Christmas bows and scarves and taking lots and lots…and LOTS of pictures.

Chapter 24: Hehet, Merry Christmas -Polyteez

Chapter Text

The house wasn't quite the same over the last two months while Yeosang was away. Everyone made sure to include him on things when someone accomplished an award at work, or finished a major project. Always sending him photos or videos.

And when he wasn't busy, Yeosang would do his best to update them as well. This was Yeosang's first time filming a movie abroad. He wasn't the lead actor but still held an important role where he was needed periodically throughout the filming process.

Two months turned into three and Christmas came quickly. The rest of the group sat around their den celebrating Christmas Eve together. Seonghwa and Wooyoung had cooked a delicious dinner. They played games together and laughed and enjoyed each other's presence.

But they all still felt the Yeosang sized hole in their celebrations. They watched the video message that Yeosang prepared for them and while it helped, it only reminded them that he wasn't there.

The group wore their matching pjs that Santa Yunho gave them for the year. He hadn't changed into his own yet but Wooyoung decided it was time to take group photos. He promised they would do another once Yeosang was home after the new year. He seemed eager to do it, even a little nervous, but the group chalked it up to him just missing Yeosang too.

Before he took the photo, they asked each other something they wanted for Christmas from Santa. A tradition they had started their first year living all together as a polyamorous group of eight. It had been six years since then and this was the first Christmas where one of them missing.

When Jongho asked San what he wanted, the dance teacher pouted a little before he said, "I want Yeosang hyung."

The others cooed around him and nodded their heads in agreement. Wooyoong almost broke right then but managed to keep himself under control.

Once they finished asking each other Wooyoung picked up his phone and after pressing a few buttons he waved it in his hand. "Time for a photo!" He called their attention and gathered them over. He held his phone to take a selfie like he always did when they wanted group photos.

"Okay, everyone ready?" Wooyoung asked before directing a few of them to move a little. He then held up the phone again, his privacy screen protector made it so the others couldn't see it well but Wooyoung could. He waited until the extra face made it into the background.

"Okay!" Wooyoung’s face lit up in giddiness as he counted down and took the photo. He then made a show of looking at it. "Oh! What's that?" He asked and turned sent the photo to the group chat. Each pulled out their phones to look at what Wooyoung sent.

"Wait! Yeosang!" San yelled suddenly and turned around rapidly searching the area behind them. Yunho turned and noticed that someone was behind him. Once he stood up straight he had blocked the view.

"Hehet. Merry Christmas." Yeosang's familiar voice was the most beautiful sound.

"Yeosang!" Mingi grabbed the actor, who was also wearing reindeer pjs, and pulled him into a hug which was quickly joined by San, Yunho, Jongho. Hongjoong couldn't hold out long and ended wheedling himself into the group hug pulling Wooyoung with him.

Seonghwa had tears in his eyes and his hands to his mouth. He was more silent about it but everyone knew how much not having all of his lovers at home had affected him. Seeing Yeosang there in their den laughing with the others and being smothered in hugs and kisses was the best gift.

Yeosang smiled happily. Glad to have been able to make it home in time. Wooyoung had helped him with the surprise and to see how happy it made everyone made the stress of last minute travel worth it.

"I've missed you all so much." Yeosang had tears on his lashes as well.

"Welcome home, Yeosang." Hongjoong kissed his cheek, making the other blush before he was pulled into the large plush pile of blankets they had made on the floor. Seonghwa was pushed into the center with Yeosang and San. The two cuddled him close while everyone snuggled around them.

Hands reached across bodies until all could touch Yeosang. Knowing he was finally home and safe in their arms settled all of them. They talked and giggled together until they drifted off to sleep one at a time.

"I love you all, so much." Yeosang yawned and fell asleep among them.
