Mingi's day hadn't started well.

He had woke up with pain in his back, which normally didn't happen during summer, and the painkillers took a long time to take effect.

There had been no time for him to have breakfast as he was late and then at lunch he wasn't able to eat much since he had to eat something quick as his evening classes would start sooner for that day.

And maybe the thing that actually made the day worse was that he was pretty sure he would soon be entering his rut and he hadn't been able to see San or any member of the Kim pack

It didn't make sense why not seeing them affected him so much when he spent most of his life alone and being bullied but they had become important to him.

Maybe he had gotten spoiled with having always seen and talked with one of them everyday, mostly San, Wooyoung or Jongho, but he knew that once San and Wooyoung finished university that they would probably all forget about him.

Mingi was so lost on this depressing thoughts that he almost didn't hear his phone ring but when he did, he accepted the call since the only ones that had his number were his teachers, the Kim pack and some of his classmates.

"Hello?" Mingi says

"Hi, Mingi!" he hears Yeosang says and he feels himself relax at hearing the voice of one of his friends "I'm not sure if one of the guys was able to send you a message but the omegas have entered pre-heat so we none of us went to school or work" Yeosang informs him and maybe Mingi feels relieved that the Kim pack weren't already forgetting him or ready to abandon him

"That's good to know, I was worried when I didn't see San and Wooyoung" Mingi tells him

"I'm sorry we worried you, but we wanted to get everything ready before we asked you something" Yeosang says sounding like he really felt bad that they worried Mingi but what he said at the end made Mingi get confused

"Ask me something?" Mingi asks since he couldn't see what they would want to ask of him as when the university was informed of someone's pre-rut/heat or rut/heat, the person's teachers put their homework and any necessary material the person may need to learn what was taught in the days they weren't able to go to university

"Ah, yes..." Yeosang mumbles and that makes Mingi even more confused "Uhm...do you remember when you first met Woo?" he asks

"Yes, I do" Mingi says since it would be hard to forget when the younger alpha decided that his scent and scent gland where very interesting to him

"Well...the omegas want you here and want your scent" Yeosang admits and Mingi is surprised by this

"But...why?" Mingi asks not understanding why San, Yunho and Seonghwa want him there especially as he isn't sure if the others would be comfortable with him there as an omega in pre-heat could suddenly enter his heat without any signs of it unlike alphas

"We all love your scent and feel comfortable and safe beside you" Yeosang says but even then Mingi just can't understand why they want him there "How about you spend the night here? You can scent a few blankets for the heat room and they will know you are present and safe if you spend the night" Yeosang adds

"...Are you sure it will be alright?" Mingi decides to ask since he has heard and seen alphas being very possessive and aggressive when their omega mates were in heat

"Wooyoung is excited to have you here and Hongjoong as offered to go pick you up" Yeosang says as if he knew that was what was needed to calm down Mingi

"...Okay but only tonight" Mingi says

"I will inform them!" Yeosang says and ends the call

Mingi looks at his phone with a fond smile before continuing his way to his dorm so he can pack a bag with everything he will need to spend a night in the Kim pack's house.

He still didn't understand what any member of the Kim pack saw in him to decide he was someone they could trust but he was thankful to have met and been able to befriend all of them even if he still found strange some their actions.
