Chapter Text
It was early November 1998, Yomiyama had long since stopped living the Sakitani Kinenkan incident.
Class 3-3 life was also back on the straight track, although the trauma of the curse was still present in many students, many of them were left traumatized, many of them couldn't believe that many of their classmates died.
Other classes in Yomiyama North, and even students from Yomiyama South seemed terrified of this year's curse, especially the Sakitani Kinenkan incident, however over time almost everyone forgot about that massacre in a motel.
On that day, a student in that class, who had already been written off from student list, woke up from a coma.
No one was in his room, moreover, there was no one to be.
His last surviving family member - once of an influential aristocratic clan - was a surgeon at Yumigaoka Hospital, taking care of patients.
His only friend ironically also from the Four Great Clans of Yomiyama - Ayato Anju knew nothing yet about his friend's awakening from the coma.
Naoki Muneyoshi opened his eyes and hesitantly looked around the room, he felt extremely weak however he had been taught to ignore pain, both mental and physical.
"Where the hell am I?" he thought, before taking a moment to recall a conversation with a friend before falling asleep is 7 months old.
"Well, yes... I was supposed to be a non-existent in this circus called 3-C, they probably chose Misaki-san, never mind anyway."
He looked out the window and noticed the late autumn weather.
"Wait a minute... wasn't Sakura already in bloom?"
Naoki laid back on the hospital bed, he could have left if he had insisted, however, he lost the will.
A couple of hours had passed when one of the nurses, Tomoe Takatsuki, noticed that Naoki had awakened.
She then went to find Dr. Muneyoshi, who had just finished surgery.
It came to the suicide of Detective Ohba, however, his neighbor called an ambulance in time.
The operation was heavy but the detective was saved.
Rumors about Ohba's alleged blackmail began to circulate among medical staff - both doctors and nurses and even some of the patients, those who know Ohba knew that he wouldn't commit suicide which made it very suspicious.
He was not the kind of person who would go so far as to do such a thing.
-Muneyoshi-sensei!
The nurse ran up to Kaito.
-Yes Takatsuki-san?
The nurse had to catch her breath before she spoke again, for she knew of the connection between Naoki and Kaito; she knew that Kaito was his father's younger brother, and also one of the three survivors of the Showa Day massacre.
-Patient from Room 52... has awakened from his coma...
-What?" replied the surprised doctor.
Naoki's awakening in such a short period of time was a miracle, as the poison nearly killed Naoki in March/April.
Kaito ran to Naoki's room to see if it was true that he had woken up.
He opened the door to the already dark room letting in the light.
-Kaito, turn off the damn light and get out of here, I'm not in the mood.
The doctor was not surprised by such behavior from his nephew, Naoki was always standoffish and even callous at times.
Kaito smiled and looked at Naoki.
- That's all right, take a long rest.
The next day Ayato Anju - Naoki's only friend - learned of his awakening and decided to visit him.
-You're finally awake Naoki...
You were not with us for about 7 months...
Naoki sighed in irritation, he didn't want to be visited being in such a bad state.
-Just give me a break.
-Friends should not be left behind...
-Left behind? Pff. Whatever.
Naoki looked around to see if anyone else was behind Ayato.
-Are you alone?
-Yeah
-Isn't Fujioka with you?
She probably wouldn't miss such an opportunity.
Ayato, upon hearing Fujioka's name, became nervous, began to sweat and his hand began to tremble
-Aaaah... well…you see... She had to leave the city...
Well, you know... Her parents have problems with the Hironiwa clan.
Naoki did not notice Ayato's nervous behavior, however, the mere news that Misaki Fujioka had left Yomiyama surprised him.
-Do her parents even know that the Hironiwa clan belongs to the Yomiyama Group?
Despite being a clan from small provincial Yomiyama, they have influential connections all over Japan and even in America because of this.
-Do you mean to tell me that...?
-I hope they fled abroad, it wouldn't be worthless for the Hironiwa clan to pursue after them
Although if they are somewhere in Japan you never know.
-W-well….
She didn't tell me anything... but the last time we saw each other she told me that she was going to earn money for a surfboard, so maybe she moved to *Santiago del California?
Although I'm not sure...
By the way...
Where will you go now?
-You mean school?
-Yes, I heard that your school removed you… so.. are you going back to Southern Yomi?
- I don't think so, I want to throw up when Miyamoto and Uehara come to mind, In fact, so is all of Southern Yomi.
-Oh.. I see…
But I guess it doesn't matter now, the curse has been lifted from what my friend told me.
-Nevermind.
I intend to go back there.
-But I guess it doesn't matter now, the curse has been lifted from what my friend told me.
-I wonder how they did it, never mind.
I intend to go back there.
-No one told you about what happened?
-No, and personally I don't care much.
-There was a massacre at the Sakitani Kinenkan guesthouse.
Reportedly, students started killing each other.
-And?
-And doesn't that scare you?
Naoki was not frightened by such stories, even if he had participated in that massacre he would not have felt fear or remorse for killing a classmate, Ayato, however, did not know anything - about Naoki's dark past thousands of kilometers away from Yomiyama
-No, absolutely.
-Ehhh.
Well, I guess I'll be getting going, get well!
-Bye.
