Chapter Text
The doorbell rang as students were let out of their clubs, or detentions for their more… spirited students. Atem leans back against his chair as the usual members start packing their bags. One by one, each of the students leave, Atem nodding his head at them before they run off. Until the frequent face of this group goes to leave.
“Mister Kaiba?”
Maroon eyes glare at him.
“Sensei?” Yami Kaiba said, his tone teetering on mocking.
“Here is your slip. I’ll have to have another meeting with your mother,” Atem stated, giving him the paper.
Yami’s sneered, stuffing the paper into his school jacket before leaving the room.
Atem sighs. That boy… he doesn’t know what to do with him. He tries to reach out, hoping to curb Yami’s negative actions, but it seems Yami takes it as a challenge, from one alpha to another.
Honestly, it seems like he’s wasting his life away, pulling those pranks. And it’s not like he’s dumb. Atem’s seen his grades to know that.
He assumes it’s because of the lack of father in his life. Seto Kaiba’s the boy’s second guardian, he’s the one who recommended Yami for Domino Academy… and yet he’s never around. Perhaps he’s embarrassed by his past affair?
No matter. It’s not his business to get into his student’s family life.
Atem shuffles his papers together, putting them in a folder before heading home for the night.
At least he can spend some time with Yugi.

“I’m sorry again for this,” Yugi Mouto apologizes for his son, his lovely violet eyes the only thing that Yami hasn’t inherited. He was an attractive omega, with his wide eyes, his youthful features, his suit hugging all over his curves, especially-
No, bad thoughts. Bad alpha thoughts. This is his student’s mother. The one who gave birth to the sassy-mouthed boy to frequently argues with him in class.
Oh, if that’s all the boy would do, he could live with it. But then there are the pranks, and the fights. The only limit Yami has was him not harassing his omega classmates for things they can’t control.
“I’m sure you try your best,” Atem says, trying not to be too harsh with him. It’s not easy, being a single mother, even with the Kaiba name helping him out.
“But it’s still not enough,” Yugi frowns, twisting the tea cup in front of him, “Honestly, he didn’t use to be like this.”
Atem nods, letting Yugi vent for a bit. He knows part of it, from teachers that have been around this school longer. But it was just his luck, having Yami start acting up when he’s his homeroom teacher.
“Perhaps he could spend some with the alphas in his life,” he suggests.
“I guess,” Yugi sighs, taking the papers before leaving.
“See you at the Parent-Teacher Conference, Mister Mouto?” he calls out, Yugi turning around before smiling.
“Sure. And call me Yugi,” he says before walking out the door, Atem’s heart beating fast at the request.
