A glimpse of us

Summary:

"He doesn't remember anything. Not you, not them."

Chapter Text

"I know where he is," Perth said, his voice carrying a weight of hidden secrets.

Phee, his heart racing with anticipation and anxiety, turned to face Perth, his eyes wide with hope.

"Where is he?" he asked eagerly, voice laced with urgency.

Perth's expression softened slightly, but his eyes remained guarded.

"I'll take you to him," he said slowly.

"But you must promise me something, Phee. You must promise not to talk to him about the past."

Phee's brow furrowed in confusion, his mind racing with questions and doubts.

"Okay," Phee said reluctantly, voice barely above a whisper.

"But can you tell me why? Why can't I talk to him about the past, about us?”

Perth's gaze softened, a flicker of sadness passing across his features.

"He doesn't remember," he said quietly, his voice barely audible.

"He doesn't remember anything. Not you, not them."

Phee's heart sank at Perth's words, a cold knot of dread forming in the pit of his stomach. The implications of what Perth was saying were almost too much to bear. He had spent 3 years searching for him, hoping against hope that one day they would be reunited. But now, faced with the reality that he might not even remember him, Phee felt a wave of despair wash over him.

"How... how is that possible?" Phee stammered, voice betraying his disbelief.

"How could he forget?"

Perth sighed heavily, his shoulders slumping with the weight of unspoken sorrow.

"It's complicated," he said softly, his voice tinged with regret.

"But it happened. And now, he's out there, living his life without a single memory of who he used to be."

Phee felt as if the ground had been pulled out from under him, his world crumbling around him as he struggled to come to terms with Perth's revelation. All those years of searching, all those memories they had shared together... all of it rendered meaningless by the cruel twist of fate.

But despite the despair that threatened to consume him, Phee knew he couldn't give up. He had come too far, fought too hard, to let it all end like this.

"Take me to him," Phee said firmly, his voice steady despite the turmoil raging inside him.

"I need to see him, even if he doesn't remember me. I need to know that he's okay."

Perth nodded, a silent understanding passing between them.

Together, they set off into night, their footsteps echoing in the empty spaces left by memories long forgotten.

As they walked, Phee couldn't help but wonder what awaited him at the end of their journey. Would he find peace in seeing him again, even if it was as a stranger? Or would the pain of what they had lost be too much to bear?
