Magick is just another word for Second Chances

Summary:

Tony's dead. Peter's so far from okay.
Trying to pick up the pieces of his life after the tragic events of his mentor's (and a lot of other things) death, Peter finds himself becoming hopeless. He starts to think his depression is making him delusional, perhaps it is. Or, perhaps that really is Mr. Stark's voice he's hearing. His ghost of a hand he's feeling. Does Peter believe in ghosts? Is he going crazy? Is Tony alive?! ... Dr. Strange will know what to do. He's a doctor after all.

AKA: That fix it fic that's gonna be needless scientifically complicated and longer than my life expectancy, because I hate myself apparently. But Peter is determined to bring his Tony back and so help me, he will.

Chapter 1: Before There Was Magick {Prolog}

Summary:

The prolog before out story begins.

Notes:

This was a fic I started for a different fandom that I'm going to be rewriting for this fandom. I never finished it and I'm still not sure if I will (just being honest) but I'll try to post it as regularly as I can 😅

I'll be adding chapters warnings before each chapter because there will subjects happen that deserved a TW. This is going to be a *long*, angsty, sexually frustrating, sexually gratifying, the weirdest LDR ever, science and mystical roller-coaster ride. So... you've been warned.

TW: Death mention

Chapter Text

Before there was magick,

There was Peter Parker. Nerdy freshman (almost sophomore) at Midtown Tech. Recently turned Spiderman from some freaky radioactive spider bite. Yeah. He couldn't really believe it either.

But before there was magick,

There was evil. Bad guys and aliens, villains. Criminals that left the spider with aching muscles and crawling into bed each night, hoping the bruises would disappear before May saw them. His goodnight prayers: "with great power comes great responsibilities." It was too much for just one kid to take on, but someone had to…

But before there was magick,

There was Tony Stark. Ironman. The genius, billionaire, avenger, that could save the world single handedly and not spill a drop of liquor the other hand was holding. The man that was Peter's hero. The kid basically worshiped him. The first time his eyes met Tony's, in his little living room, with May's date loaf permeating the air; it was like being shook awake from a dream. Dizzying, panicky, nauseating, complete relief. Relieved to finally be…

Before Peter knew magick was real,

He knew evil existed. He knew what heartbreak was. He knew what true fear felt like. He knew there were other worlds out there besides their own. He knew that he would kill to keep the people he loved safe. He knew that when Tony called, he'd go.

And before Peter knew about magick,

He knew every line, every joke, every snark, and every stupid smirk Tony threw his way. Every pat on the back, every compliment, every "kid"; he carved himself ever deeper into Peter's heart. It was ludicrous. Ridiculous. It wasn't fair that his own heart had it out for him. It wasn't just a crush or hero worship either. Like MJ and Ned and even Aunt May loved to point out, Peter was obsessed.

But of course, Peter Benjamin Parker would find the too smart for his own good, broken, brooding, God complex, too stubborn for his own good (or anyone else's), sad hazel eyes, heart bigger than the sun, with those goddamn sad hazel eyes and a playboy smile that drove too fast and had hands that could break him in every goddamn way possible, in every way the opposite of what's good for him; the most irresistible thing to grace this earth. Yeah. Okay. He was slightly obsessed. Guilty. But who the hell could blame him?

Needless to say that before Peter knew about magick,

He knew that he was in deep for Tony Stark.

However, Peter also knew it was impossible, just like magick.

But then Tony was lying there. Covered in blood and dirt and ash. Those hazel eyes with flakes of chocolate were dark and hazed over. His warm skin was pale and stained black. That playboy smile, gone, and replaced with emptiness. Tony's heart wasn't the only one that stopped that day.

Before Peter Parker knew about magick,

He knew that Tony Stark was dead…

…

But death is just another word for a new beginning. And magick is just another word for second chances…
