Chapter Text
Vought towers became tense once the boys were added. Homelander couldn’t even vent to Madelyn about it. Especially now that her baby was here. It would take all of the attention away from him. But he loved watching her pump. He would watch her for hours on end even when he wasn’t outside her office.
Mother’s milk and Starlight talked to Mrs. Stillwell about a way for the team to bond with each other. They needed to do real charity work for real people. And some could tell stories to kids and give special toys to everyone.
“This could put us more on the map and can convince every military and state senator that the supes care for everyone. It can also improve the Deeps PR by working with single parents.” Mother’s milk had a plan like it was breakfast.
“I don’t know if this is smart. Billy can be an asshole to anyone, even kids. Even Homelander wouldn’t agree to this either, his nose has a hard time with strong omega and alpha scents.” with her pencil pushing the plan back like they were toxic.
“I will talk with him about behaving. He knows not to swear around my kid and I can ask him to play nice.” he said.
Starlight jumped in, “I promise we can make this spin out so that he can agree fast.”
Sighing, Mrs. Stillwell “we will see. I can’t say that he will agree to this, but i will see what i can do” she smiled at them and slowly jested her hand for them to leave.
She later called Homelander in for a talk “Starlight and Mother’s milk had offered for the whole time to be boned by really working with charities to help the world. It will be able to boost our agenda and get us higher votes, but that also means that you have to be around alphas and omega scents for long periods of time.” she reached for him “I urge you to agree”
A small swallow could be heard by anyone “that sounds hard, but if it will help you then maybe”
“Perfect now place help me figure out how to get the rest of it bored.” Her lips twitched slightly.
“We could tell them that it will be important for the team to help others with everything that they need, while also talking about their lives. We could also include the Soldier boys' story as well.” Homelanders felt his ears heat with blood.
“That is perfect. We even included other heroes with the same background on what their lives were like even when they got their powers.” her smile blossomed. “Now all we need to do is figure out a date with everyone else and give them a chance to be more than hero's. That they are people that understand lives aren’t as fortunate for others.”
With the date set in stone, they prepared for everything. Calling camera crews, and every charity under the sun that they would love to help. And once with every approval after another, it was all ready.
Today was supposed to be the day that the team had to pretend that they all got along, even Billy and his main team agreed. But the A-train was late. Why, actually, how Is he late? Everyone was getting to the point of canceling this exercise.
The Homelander heard him before he saw him. His normal blue suit was covered in blood and guts, even hints of bone. “What did you do?” Madelyn said, looking him up and down.
“I ran into a female alpha. I… I… I c-couldn’t st-stop” his breath quickened, with each line.
He was pulled away for everybody to give the story about what happened. And once he was cleaned up got to work helping others.
Vought got started with the damage control, The A-train admitted to the public that he ran down the woman by accident. That he didn’t see her in time to pull away from the curb. He even invited the grieving partner to come to Vought towers for a proper apology.
Homelander didn’t want a random omega woman to come into their place and smell the place up. He even tried to get Mrs. Stillwell to just send a check.
“We can’t do that John. The partner wanted this apology. They wouldn’t take the money otherwise.” she rubbed her eyes.
When the day came, everyone got ready to help A-train with this requirement. He wasn’t really good without any cues.
Once the omega was announced to be here. They were all in place, the elevator dinged with the arrival of Mrs. Stillwell and a lavender milk smell in the air. A young male omega with curly brown hair walked into the room, accompanied by a stroller.
“Everyone this is Hughie Campbell, he is the partner of the Alpha that” she pointed at A-train, “A-train killed.” turning to him, “Hughie, welcome to Vought towers and we offer our humble apologies and condolences.”
His eyes locked on to A-train, with flames in his eyes. He then reached into the stroller. Homelander quickly used his ex-ray vision.
