Chapter Text
• “He’s in the operating room.” The dark-haired man spoke on the phone as he stood in a corner outside the emergency door. “The stab wound is near the lumbar vertebrae.” He muttered in a low voice, more than he seemed worried.
• “He’ll be fine, Dohyun called me and told me that a lot of things happened… Taeju is the only one injured?”
• “Yes, everyone is fine; I still don’t understand how someone managed to stab him; what I know is that none get close to Taeju in battle without being knocked to the ground, even if he fights with his bare hands.”
• “You can ask him and scold him or pat his head after he gets out of the hospital safely. Don’t worry, dear, he’ll be fine.”
• “But Taehwa, what if something bad happens to him like complications or--”
• “He’ll be fine because he’s our son,” he said confidently to encourage his worried husband. Jooin sighed and smiled a small smile that didn’t succeed in removing the knot in his eyebrows.
• “Of course.” He muttered as he looked at the omega sitting on the waiting chairs shaking his leg anxiously while looking at the emergency room door and then at the palm of his hand stained with Taeju's blood, "Do all the Yeo's go crazy when they fall in love?"
• "Maybe." Jooin could imagine Taehwa's smile when he answered.
• " Then it's a genetic problem," Jooin confirmed as he brushed his hair back helplessly with his hand, "Should I blame your genes' selfishness or my genes' laziness?" He joked before adding, "Okay, I have to calm the boy down. Tell the little one that his brother is fine too."
• "Okay, Heeju is coming to you; she's useless here anyway; she doesn't know how to deal with children as if she never had a child."
•" I'm going to tell her "
• "But you took her child."
• "Oi! You're saying that as if I stole Wonyoung!"
• "I wasn't the one who said that."
• " Okay, leave me now, I'm busy!" He dismissed him, ended the call, and looked at the boy as he said. He took a deep breath, put his phone back in his pocket, and arranged his hair as he walked towards him; Euihyun was so distracted and worried that he didn't notice the alpha coming towards him.
As Jooin approached the omega, he noticed that the boy was extremely worried and even his pheromones were screaming with worry, Jooin remembered Taeju's look at him when he revealed his back to check his wound in the middle of the street "Dad, I'm really fine" He knew his son better than anyone else, he knew that being stabbed with a knife hurt like a hell, he knew that his wounded son was in so much pain that he couldn't walk on his own, he knew that he bled a lot and that he was drawing a trail behind him with his blood, but this son looked at his father with a look that said "Dad, calm him down" and the gesture was meant for this young boy.
• "I wish we met under better circumstances than this." Jooin spoke as he stood in front of Euihyun with an apologetic smile. Euihyun looked at him in surprise and didn't know what to say or respond. He isn't a smart socialite and his brain doesn't work properly when he is stressed and under psychological pressure. The proof is that he took his little brother and decided to commit suicide together by drowning in the sea. That's where he met Taeju and everything started...
His lips trembled as he tried to say something but the man who was supposed to be Taeju's father kneeled in front of him and held his trembling hand, cutting him off. "Is your hand injured?" Jooin asked as he examined the omega's palm and took out his own handkerchief to wipe the blood.
• "N--no, it's his blood." He said confusedly, now he started to feel a bad feeling in his stomach. "I'm sorry, mister,... he was stabbed because of me." He said with guilt in his voice. It's true that he's not the one who's at fault in the kidnapping and that he's involved because Taeju was the one who lent money to Euihyun's father, but he felt guilty in front of the father of the person who is now in the Emergency Operations.
• “What’s your name?” Jooin asked, surprising Euihyun, as he didn’t expect to be asked such an unimportant thing now.
• “Ah… Euihyun” he said in surprise, becoming calmer and less nervous than before.
• “And I’m Jooin, nice to meet you.” He smiled as he finished what he was doing and sat next to him on the waiting chairs. “And I don’t want you to say you’re sorry, you don’t need to apologize because you’re not guilty of anything” He said quietly as he looked at his blood-stained handkerchief. It will be a lie if he said that he isn't worried about his son .
•" But he was bleeding alot and--"
•" Taeju will be fine! " he said confidently " because he is my son" .
• “But he had stabbed instead of me”
• “That means he chose to protect you, since he chose to do it himself, you don’t have to apologize at all” Euihyun patted his head reassuringly “The only one who should apologize is my son,Taeju, how could he hide someone important from us, his parents?” He said pretending to be annoyed “What do you suggest as punishment for Taeju? Should I slap his ass or pull his ear?” He almost laughed at the tension of the boy next to him
• “He’s already injured” he said taking Jooin’s joke seriously.
• “So you’re saying there’s no need to punish him?”
• “Yes, he’s already been punished”
• “Hmm. Seems that you love him”
• “Eh?!” He was surprised by the straightforward declaration.
• “Because he loves you, do you love him?” He said as he arched his eyebrows upwards and smiled at the boy’s reaction, there was no need to even hear the answer, everything was clear, he could count on all ten fingers that his son had created a strong bond between him and this boy, the bond of alpha and omega, he knew that since he saw him panicking talking to Heeju while he was shocked that he could actually have a grandson in kindergarten and he didn’t know about it all this time, the kid was adorable and cute and he was also an alpha but luckily he turned out to be the younger brother of his son’s secret omega, otherwise, Jooin would have skinned his son alive for daring to hide his grandson for years.
• “I--he--the thing is--” Euihyun stuttered in response and fortunately the nurse rushing out the door saved him.
• “Who is the patient's family?” He asked while he was nervous, Jooin quickly got up while his hand was on Euihyun's shoulder
• "Me," He answered quickly " I'm his dad, what happened?"
• "The patient is still bleeding a lot and his blood type is not available in the hospital, we need a donor immediately"
• " I'm here, he has the same blood type as me" he said worriedly as he walked towards the nurse.
• "Please follow me, we need to do tests to confirm first"
He immediately followed him as Heeju reached them, Dohyun, Wonyoung and Euihyun remained in the waiting room in addition to Heeju,
• "Wonyoung , Dohyun? What happened?" she asked when she saw everyone pale
• "Mom..." Wonyoung spoke hesitantly as she approached her mother "A nurse just came out and said that Taeju lost a lot of blood" She was really worried and felt that everything that happened was because of her.
• "And why are you so scared?!" She said with fake anger "He'll be fine! Don't look like a ghost like that. Damn! That means none of you trust Taeju!" She sighed as she looked at the boy standing there nervously "Is it him?" She asked to make sure
• "Yes, it's him"
• "Boy!" She called him as she walked around him while his stomach reminded him of its pain, he assumed it was because everyone around him was an alpha, was Taeju's entire family alphas? men and women?! He wondered to himself as he squeezed his stomach with his hand, this was not the time for his stomach to hurt, "I'm Taeju's aunt-- hey what's wrong? Does your stomach hurt?"
• "What? No no I'm fine" He said in confusion, this aunt must be scary and observant, at first glance he thought it was Taeju's mother because she had the same hair color as him
• "You must be in pain." she said, ignoring his lie. "Dohyun! Stay here while we take the boy for examination,".
• “But Taeju is having an operation now--” Euihyun was interrupted by the aunt’s wave.
• “Taeju will be fine but we won’t be fine if he wakes up and finds out that you were in pain the whole time, come on don’t be stubborn like him.” She said as she walked in front of him already while the other woman was behind him.
• “But--”
• “If you don’t obey her, she will force you to.” Wonyoung said as she walked beside him and urged him to obey her mother’s words “Trust me she’s not as gentle as Uncle Jooin.”
This was proven by a red hand print on Wonyoung’s mouth from her mother and then they continued walking.
