Day 18: Hill County Asylum

Summary:

Little bonus story for McFly July. This plot bunny has lived in my head for a bit and I got the perfect prompt for it.

Notes:

Sorry when I saw the prompt Hill County Asylum this is what I wanted to do until the redirection of my McFly July changed. Yes this is completely inspired by a King of the Hill episode.

I am still working on Got the Time, but I got a little busy in life.

Work Text:

Marty was just relaxing at his house with Jennifer, and Doc and Clara were over too. They were all joking and having a good time. When Marty’s cell phone rang.

“Excuse me,” Marty gets up to talk on the phone. The others continued their conversation until they heard Marty yell, “WHAT!?”

They stopped, wondering why he yelled and curious about what the phone call is about. Marty gave a sigh and said, “Yeah I’ll be there in forty.”

As he walks back into the room, Jennifer askes, “What was that about?”

“You know,” Marty started. “My vote was on you Doc for a friend I have to collect from the asylum.”

Two hours earlier

“We got to get out of here,” Lee announced, as him, Paul, and Bobby were stuck doing arts and crafts. Three still can’t believe they accidentally got stuck in Hill County Asylum. “Like seriously why didn’t they contact our families to see if we belong here?”

“Can I have some more clay!” Bobby yelled out. Paul and Lee glared at him. “What? I’m trying to make a bowl for my girlfriend’s jewelry.”

“You probably won’t see your girlfriend for a while if we don’t get out of here!” Paul hissed at Bobby. “I agree we need to get out but how are we going to do that?”

“Why don’t we just call Marty?” Bobby asked.

“No!” Lee banged his hand on the table, “We can’t let him know we were in here. He will never let us live it down that we were dumb enough to get locked up in here.”

“Then again,” Paul snarked. “How the hell are we getting out of here.”

“Well I see that the laundry people take a break around in an hour,” Bobby started. “What if we sneaked in their baskets to get out?”

“Okay that might work, let’s do it,” Lee agreed.

~~~~~~~~
The three walked down the hallway and snuck into the basket. Then they rang the fire alarm and slipped down the shoot outside. Fall on to each other only to see the nurses and guards waiting for them.
“How did they find out!” Lee shouted.
“You boys aren’t quiet,” one nurse said.
They tried to make a break for it, but they were subdued and injected with a tranquilizer.
“Okay first one to wake up calls Marty,” Lee slurred as they fell unconscious.
~~~~~~~

“Okay I talked with your doctors,” Marty said standing in front of them. “Paul, you were in for the mandatory 72 hours and you are not a threat to yourself or others, you are free to go.”

“Sweet,” Paul gave a thumbs up.

“Lee and Bobby, you were never admitted so you can go whenever,” Marty said. “But one question, how did no one notice you three missing?”

“Well after the first day I called Lee,” Paul explained.

“So I came in to get Paul out and then they thought I was just as crazy as Paul,” Lee explained. “So I called Bobby earlier this morning.”

“Then I got stuck here and Lee didn’t want us to call you,” Bobby finished.

“And why didn’t you want to call me?” Marty asked with an eyebrow raised.

“We knew you wouldn’t let us live it down,” Lee mumbled.

“You bet your ass I won’t!” Marty said, starting to walk to his truck with the guys following him. “Going to be nice telling everyone I’m the only sane member of The Pinheads.”
