Chapter Text
Neteyam's P.O.V
Being Olo'eyktan's first born son, everyone in my clan had high expectations, training to one day take my father's place. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared... But I was. The elders and younger Na'vi praised me on how mature and responsible I've become for someone my age. My parents were also praised by the elders, I feared to put a foot wrong.
In my spare time, I can be found flying on my Ikran, feeling the wind through my braids. I love hanging with my friends and archery, my hair being braided, making my own clothing and exploring the forest. Some of the females within our clan would flirt with me. And even some of the males were attracted to me. My father would ask me if any of the females had caught my interest, in hopes that I would choose a mate. Mother noticed I was showing little interest, I wasn't ready to give myself to just anyone, especially to make Tsheylu. "A bond for life." My parents had noticed my male friends would tease me and sometime flirt, it was hard to cover up my dusted cheeks.
We have many beautiful women in our clan, each one special in her own way. And yes, some of my close female friends were very attractive but I never saw them being my potential mate. My father would smile with anticipation whenever I was around the girls. However I had mixed feelings towards their intentions in wanting to be my future Tsahik. I wanted my mate to love me for who I am, not for being the Olo'eyktan's first born son...
The banter between my friends and I was always in good fun, teasing, flirting and sometimes we can get a bit rough with each other when playing. One of us would always come away with more bite marks or bruises than the other, I mean. "I can be just as feisty back!" Our adrenaline would race, causing us to get excited which was hard to ignore. Chasing each other through the glowing forest. (Most times it's me who's being chased) Seeing my friend's reaction always amuses me, I love seeing my friends smile, knowing I was the cause of their smiles.
Growing up as the Olo'eyktan's first born son, it was hard to find friends who were genuine and interested in me and not for my status. Over the years, my circle of friends grew, they were everything to me. Six Na'vi friends who are in my inner circle have always had my best interest with love, loyalty and respect. Supporting each other through our hard times and good, my friends loved me for who I am and that meant everything to me.
Nahele and Kaua are two of my closets friends, they both are closer to me than the others. Kaua and Nahele both share a deep spiritual connection with the forest. The elders believed they were a gift from Eywa. My parents knew how strong their loyalty was towards me. Standing by my sides like protectors. It made my father happy knowing I had someone watching my back. They both had grown to be highly respected considering they were 2 years older than me. Our clan believed they were gifts from Eywa...
.........
As nightfall draws near, the forest of Pandora came to life, the bioluminescence dots that decorated my face and body shimmered. Being lost in a sea of glowing plants around me, nocturnal creatures of all sizes came out to hunt and play. I couldn't help poking a Fan Lizard, suddenly watching the lizard taking off in flight, it's wings glowed pink making my eyes light up. I started to poke more lizards through the thick grass... I softly hummed a song my mother used to sing to me, my tail swishing about... "Neteyam?" *HISS* Grabbing my knife, I turned letting out a startled hiss, my eyes glowed. "Whoa Neteyam, easy!" Nahele quickly said, my hand loosened around my knife... "Sorry we startled you." Nahele added, but I felt terrible for almost attacking my friends. "Look at us, Neteyam." I heard Kaua speak, I turned to see them looking at me with soft gazes. Nahele slowly walked around me, scanning me with his eyes. My attention was drawn back to Kaua. "You shouldn't be out here alone." Kaua spoke as he moved a braid behind my ear, my heart fluttered. As I was about to speak, Nahele tugged my tail, I spun around quickly, playfully hissing at him and Nahele hissed back. I gasped as Kaua put me in a headlock and Nahele grabbed my tail again. I laughed, trying to free myself. "Nahele. Let go of my tail!" I ordered but they both tackled me to the ground hissing and laughing. "OW NOT MY HAIR!" Kaua cried out suddenly pinning me down by my wrists and snarling at me, his eyes glowed.
Playfully bumping into Kaua as we walked through the glowing forest, Kaua's tail swished, hitting the back of my thighs like a whip. Taking in the beautiful glowing scenery around us, our ears twitched from the tiniest sounds. Looking at each other, we couldn't help admire the white dots that shimmered on our faces and bodies. I've always loved the marks that decorated me from head to toe, enhancing the curves of my body... "Your glowing, Tey." Nahele whispered, I blushed and my tail swished. Kaua chuckled and grabbed my hand. "Follow us, forest prince." Kaua said pulling me along. "Where are we going?" I asked. "Nahele and I found this cave when we were hunting." Kaua explained. "We wanted to show you but... Duties and all." Nahele said, leading the way. I couldn't help but sigh, they were right. Nahele and Kaua both understood my responsibilities from my father. It was another reason I respect them. Always by my side everywhere I go to assist if I ordered them to. "Your gonna love it, Neteyam." Kaua smiled, holding onto my arm dragging me through our glowing lush home...
Hearing water gushing from a nearby waterfall, I stood behind Nahele and Kaua as they came to a stop. Seeing hanging thick vines and glowing pink flowers. I blinked as Kaua was the first to reach out as he gracefully separated the vines like a curtain. I was mesmerized by the glowing waterfall, the water shimmered like stars, the flowers around us bloomed, my gasp spoke for me. "Beautiful, right?" Kaua asked, I nodded, trailing ahead. Nahele's hand ran along the vines then he picked one of the pink flowers, smelling it before gently placing the flower into my hands. "It matches your eyes." Nahele said to me, my heart fluttered. "R, really?" I croaked out, making them both giggle. Our blue skin and the bioluminescence dots shimmered on our bodies like stars. Nahele slowly reached up to tuck a loose braid behind my ear. Kaua slowly turned my face back to meet his eyes, his hair hung in dreadlocks with a strand of blue and purple beads. Nahele's hair was in braids tied into a high ponytail with loose braids hanging decorated with tiny cuffs. Nahele's hair always looked beautiful to me, I couldn't help but stare.
End of Neteyam's P.O.V
"Fancy a swim, Forest baby?" Nahele asked with a smirk, his hands came to rest on Neteyam's shoulders. A blush spread across his face from the nickname Nahele had called him. Kaua pushed passed us both with a laugh. "LAST ONE TO THE WATERFALL IS A ROTTEN FRUIT!" Kaua called out as he made a dashed towards the water. Nahele and Neteyam looked to each other... "ME FIRST!" Neteyam shouted, trying to make a run for it, Nahele suddenly yanked Neteyam's tail making the boy skid across the ground. "NO ME!" Nahele squealed before getting tackled to the ground. "Let Go Skxawng!" Nahele hissed at Neteyam sitting on his friend and pinning him down. "Make Me!" Neteyam giggled, his eyes twinkled, Nahele stared up with wide eyes before overtaking Neteyam and rolling over. Neteyam grunted as he was forced onto his back, now being held down. They both gazed at each other, forgetting Kaua and the race to the waterfall... Nahele tilted his head, his eyes stayed connected to Neteyam 's face. Neteyam blushed as their tails entwined around each others. "N, Nahele?"... Neteyam whispered...
*CLEARS THROAT* Both Neteyam and Nahele turned to the shadow that loomed over the two Na'vi.
