Chapter Text
“Alexander, please!” The soft feminine voice he once adored now seemed needy and annoying to him. He thought more about what his friends would think about him breaking up with Elizabeth more than how she felt about it. How would people react? A poor boy like him had no right to break the rich, loving girl’s heart after she gave him so much.
“Go home, Eliza.” Hamilton spoke in a commanding voice, not as confident as normal or as proud as he would like. He wasn’t proud to do this to the sweet girl, but he had to. No one could tell you why Alex was becoming more and more distant to the girl he used to love with his whole heart. He couldn’t even tell you. Maybe it was because of his friend’s drunken words talking about how he no longer had his freedom, maybe it was Mr. Schuyler’s words that threatened every action, or maybe he just grew tired of overthinking every little thing to please Elizabeth and her family.
“But-“ The sweet girl had tears in her eyes, her dull nails holding onto her soft green dress for dear life to try holding back any begs or sobs.
“Go.” Alexander didn’t have sympathy in his voice, even though he did in his heart. With the commanding words of her former love, she left without another sound. If he really was as observant as he normally was in that moment, he would have seen the hurt and sorrow in her eyes as she walked away. He knew he would be screwed. Angelica wouldn’t let him get away with hurting her sister, and he would be lucky if Mr. Schuyler didn’t shoot him on the spot.
He felt sympathy for himself, but why not for the amazing girl he dated? Why not for the girl he promised to marry and to have beautiful children with? He would have to go home and rip the photos of her off of his walls. He would have to get rid of the sloppy love letters she sent him that always made him smile. What would she do with his letters?
…
A few hours later, Alexander found himself getting scolded by his friends in the same pub they always visited. The three were already there for about an hour (which a very drunk Lafayette informed him about, though it seemed they were there for longer), and John was the only one that could really understand anything. Alex didn’t know why his friends loved alcohol so much, he drank it just as a social thing, he actually didn’t even like it that much, but here they were.
Lafayette was French, so he probably grew up thinking it was okay to get black out drunk every day. Hercules didn’t have the same excuse, but Alexander knew nothing of the social life in Britian. John could handle his alcohol and really only did it with his friends as well, so it was nice knowing he wasn’t alone.
Getting back on track, why was the great Alexander Hamilton being scolded? For (again, Lafayette’s words) breaking up with the hottest and richest women in New York. He was about to correct his drunk friend by saying that Angelica was a bit more beautiful, but he cringed at the thought of saying that about his ex’s sister.
“What is all of this about anyways? It seems so sudden.” John didn’t at all slur his words like the other two, but he seemed really confused. Just two days ago, Alexander had brought Eliza on a very fancy dinner date (which he saved up to actually afford) and John thought he would have seen his best friend getting married.
Lafayette spoke for Alex, and slurred his words unlike John. “He just got tired of the same woman! You know he has to jump around every few days to get some new p-“
Alexander quickly put a hand over the French man’s mouth, knowing exactly what he would say next. “No, It wasn’t that… I’m not really sure, I just felt like I was trapped.”
“Just wait till marriage.” Hercules rolled his eyes, looking at the bartender. No one knew what he was thinking, but they could imagine.
“Maybe I just won’t marry, then.” Alex spoke, and all three of them looked at him as if he just insulted their whole bloodlines. John especially looked disappointed, maybe he wanted to be a best man at Alexander’s wedding.
Without another word, Alexander just up and left, ignoring the pleads of his friends to stay. He ignored Eliza’s pleads, so he could ignore his friends’.
…
He messed up a lot, was all he could think to himself. He hated himself for making his friends disappointed, he was mad at himself for loosing the friendship of the sisters, and he was mad at himself for ruining everything. It would have been easier if he just stayed in his relationship with Eliza, married her eventually. Everyone would’ve been happy. He chose himself over everyone else. Alexander hated how selfish he was, though he had to keep that confident-bastard personality; just pretend that it was for the better to break up with Eliza, to disappoint his friends and to lose almost everyone he loved.
He had to just pretend he wasn’t dying inside for being so selfish and stupid.
…
Alexander finally stopped in front of his home, saving himself from the walk he took that made his heels numb and his mind hurt. He fumbled with his keys, getting frustrated and just kicking the door. It opened, but he knew he didn’t break it. Alex just stared at the door, realizing he was too distracted preparing himself for the breakup that he forgot to lock his door.
“Ugh!” He grumbled to himself, about to walk inside till he heard some quick footsteps.
“Alex! Wait…” It was John, looking as if he was about to die from how quickly he was running after Alexander.
It was surprising to see his friend, not realizing how desperate John was to talk to him.
His best friend cleared his throat, putting a hand on Alex’s shoulder before whispering some words, “Can we talk?...”
Alexander stood there for a moment before giving a slightly annoyed nod, not really sure why he had to confirm with John just to talk. "Sure?" John gently grabbed Alexander's hand, looking up at him with the same gentle eyes he always had. John was always the gentle one, the one you could talk to, or the one that would just be there for you. Right now, Alex could tell that John was a bit tipsy, but no one else would've noticed.
"Alex, can i ask what happened with you and Eliza? You know... to get you two to break up?" John still looked with gentle eyes, need for an answer also behind the sweetness. "I already told you, John. I felt trapped." Alexander pulled his hands away, not looking up at his friend who he adored too much. “I know that- but-..." John didn't seem to know what to say, how to get his question across correctly. "Why? What did she do to make you feel that way?"
Alexander didn't have a clue why John wanted to know all of this; he barely knew for himself. "She just- She was controlling. She wouldn't let me live my life. I needed freedom." Thinking back to the party he and his friends had once Eliza and Alexander got together, the drunk men literally said themselves that he no longer had freedom. Maybe that was why.
John just nodded, grabbing Alexander's hands once again, making sure he couldn't pull away. His hands were warm and as comfortable as you would expect. "Can we go inside?" John smiled innocently, looking at Alex like he was about to tell him the most important thing he's ever said.
"Sure..." Alex pulled John inside, shutting the door behind them, and actually locking it this time, trust me, he looked back at it at least five times.
…
"Alexander, could I tell you something really really personal? Something you might hate me for?" John gave him a hug, again, very warm and comforting like he always was. There was nothing in Alexander's mind that could make him hate his best friend. Literally nothing. If this man would have told him that he was about to go for Eliza now they had broken up, he wouldn't have hated him.
John didn't wait for a response this time, squeezing his best friend tightly before just ripping the band aid off.
"I like you, Alexander... I love you." He whispered. Maybe it was the alcohol talking... no. He wasn't that drunk. Maybe he wasn't thinking right, or maybe he just meant it in a sweet, friendly way. This simple confession (if it even was that) made Alexander completely rethink things. He remember all of the times John hugged and kissed him, which he thought was just friendly at the time, but now they meant something different. He had no clue what to say. He did like John, bold enough to say he loved the man, but was he gay? Would he really get into another relationship right after breaking up with Eliza?
"John-"
"I understand if you don't feel the same way.. I just had to get that off of my chest." The man interrupted before quickly shutting up, giving a small nod to let Alexander speak.
"...John, I do love you, but I’m not sure about- well... a lot." Alex was honest, that was his best bet right now. To be honest. John simply nodded, not letting Alex escape from the hug; even though he wasn't trying to leave. There was a silence for a moment, and it wasn't as uncomfortable as you would expect. “We could try it out though..." Alex muttered. It would be nice to at least try this whole relationship. If it didn't work out, he doubted there would be any hard feelings. If it did work out, even better.
He could see John's eyes light up as the younger man quickly nodded. "Yes! I would love that!" God, he was adorable.
...
Now, here they were, on the couch, watching a movie together while cuddling. This was amazing, Alex would say it was even better than when they did it as friends (yes, he missed a lot of signs.) Now, John wasn't afraid to show his affection. Every few minutes, he would cuddle into Alex, kiss his cheek, even played with his hair. It was amazing to say the least. Maybe it would work out, but how would the other two react?
“Alex, does this mean were dating?” The taller boy, though younger, still showed off a kind of puppy-like grin. He was acting adorable, and he didn’t even realize it! “of course…” Alex smiled down at his new love; someone he has loved for ages but only now confirmed the love was real. He said ‘of course’ as if it was common sense.
There was a small knock on the door, and John jumped up to go answer it. No one could understand why he was so hyper, but he was. The man opened the door to see a distressed Eliza on the other side.
“…John? Where is Alexander? I need to speak with him.” Her sisters were on either side of her, Angelica looking like she was about to beat the shit out of something, and Peggy just looked full of sorrow.
…
“Alex!” John called for him, not realizing how screwed his boyfriend was in this moment now.
He could hear John calling for him. He didn’t imagine who could be at the door to see him; maybe Lafayette and Hercules? Alexander stood up from his comfy couch and, walking over to the front door, he saw three familiar faces he didn’t prepare himself to see.
Angelica quickly pushed past John to get to Alex, ready to tear into him. Peggy and Eliza just apologized to the other man for their sister’s rudeness before sneaking inside as well. John just simply shut the door once they were all inside, staring at the event go down. He just stood there in shock, what more could he do?
Angelica was busy tearing into Alexander, screaming and yelling and almost throwing hands. “My sister has been nothing but good to you, and you break her heart because you were bored of her?!” She screamed, her sisters trying to calm her down.
Eliza couldn’t look Alexander in the eyes, and Peggy was trying her hardest to keep the situation from escalating. “Angie- please just let him tell his side of the story… It may be a bigger situation than just that.” Peggy whispered to her sister.
While the two were talking, Eliza walked over to John, not wishing to be apart of the confrontation. “May I ask what he said about the breakup? I know he wasn’t silent about it.” The girl no longer was crying at the mere thought; it had already happened.
“… He doesn’t really have an excuse, Elizabeth. He just wasn’t ready for the commitment you wanted him to give… I’m guessing.” Laurens shrugged, looking at Eliza with some sympathy. He didn’t know why Alexander did the things he did, nor did he think Alex knew his own reasoning for it.
Eliza simply just nodded, but they both jumped when they heard a loud bang.
…
Angelica had roughly pushed Alexander into a wall, definitely giving him a bruise. Peggy was trying even harder to calm her sister down, but she just wouldn’t listen.
John immediately went to Alexander’s side, pulling him into a tight hug. His boyfriend didn’t even react, probably just more shocked than hurt. The sisters were whisper-yelling to each other, and Angelica was finally calming down.
Eliza and Peggy were slowly pulling Angelica out of the room, but she was trying to stay. Who knew why. She whispered something to her sisters that made them leave without her, but Peggy turned and looked at the boys with sorrow before leaving.
It was just them and Angelica now.
John was the first one to speak up, the middle ground of this fight. “Angelica, could you please just calm down a bit? I don’t think Alexander was trying to hurt you or Eliza this much.” Where he fucked up was when he told the lady to calm down, which is one of the first things on the list of “How to Annoy a Girl.”
Angelica stayed silent; her face was hard to read. She was calm and angry and spiteful all at the same time. She eventually spoke up; “Why do you feel the need to stand up for Alex so much? He can do it himself, can’t he?”
Why was he? Well, because they were dating now? He couldn’t tell her that, she would just get more pissed that he moved on so quickly. “Uh-“
Before John made up an excuse, Alexander just came clean. “He’s my boyfriend. He can do whatever he wants.” …If you were there, you could see the anger in Angelica’s eyes as she heard the word “boyfriend.”
“As if that’s smart. He broke up with my sister because he got bored, what’s stopping him from breaking up with you? And this shows how easily he moves on.” It was a good point that made John really think. He stayed silent for a moment before just looking at the ground and starting to walk away.
“I need a moment to myself…” The younger man whispered before leaving the room.
…
“You just had to tell him that?!” Alexander left his calm, content mood behind, now looking the same way Angelica did at first; with violence.
The girl just smiled at him before walking away, leaving the man to himself. She needed revenge. She was in his house with access to a million things he loved, but what would break his heart? Breaking his favorite quill? Childs play. Finding something valuable and stealing it? Nah..
She had an idea. Something he loved…
Sure, it would be cruel, but revenge was even better than just sitting and watching.
…
Angelica slowly walked along the halls, her shoes making her steps silent. She eventually found what she was looking for. Slowly and silently entering the guest room, she saw John on the bed, his eyes looking out to the bright orange sun peering inside.
He hadn’t noticed her till it was too late. He didn’t realize the door had shut and locked. He didn’t realize that every window was shut, and he didn’t realize Angelica was creeping up till she scared him. It seemed a bit playful at first.
She jumped onto him, wrapping her arms around him. They were never that close, but John couldn’t help but laugh. She just smirked.
“Angelica, could you get off of me?...” He spoke in a friendly tone, not at all violent or forceful; but he was faced with a violence. Or… maybe a lustful action? He couldn’t tell.
Angelica forced herself even closer to him, giving him a very forceful kiss. He couldn’t tell you why she did that; her intentions were hard to say. He couldn’t tell you why he liked it either. After a second, he let himself weaken into the kiss, even returning the passionate touch.
He blacked out for a second, maybe from the pleasure he felt in the kiss, but when he snapped out of it, he was in a position he never thought he would be in.
His pants were down, his erection very noticeable. His shirt was messed up, maybe from a failed attempted at getting it off. The woman that was on him was slowly undressing herself. Her corset was on the floor along with her dress. She was now only in her undergarments, and she looked absolutely beautiful.
He felt more lust fill his body. Only a minute ago, he would have told you that he would never be attracted to women, but here he was; in front of a lady that had completely seduced him. No wonder Alexander used to joke about wanting Angelica more than Eliza.
Then he remembered Alexander. What would he say about this when he found out? His thoughts were cut short as he was pulled into another kiss, this time more passionate than forceful.
…
That’s how they ended up like this, Angelica’s moans completely filling the room as he thrusted into her. He felt completely amazing like this, and the way Angelica was sounding would also confirm that she felt amazing.
John continued thrusting into Angelica, holding her tightly to his chest. Everything about her was perfect, her body, her sounds, herself. She had completely changed his view on things.
John almost forgot about Alexander... till he heard a soft knocking on the guest room door. The two stopped for a moment, the room falling silent as they continued listening out for the other man outside of the room.
How would they explain this if they got caught now?
