Kings and Emperors

Summary:

After being absolutely sick, tired and angry at watching his favorite dinosaur get nerfed and treated like a punching bag in pop culture paleomedia, Trex Fanbeau will rewrite reality to fit his whims and desires, and the world of paleomedia will never be the same again...

Notes:

T-Rex Fanboys are cringe. I am one, and I know how cringeworthy some of my fanboy thoughts and emotions are.

But like The Eminence in Shadow embraced the cringe rather than running from it, I too, will endeavour to embrace the cringe, distill it, and rev up the cringeworthiness and stupidity to 100.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: The Counterattack Begins

Chapter Text

Trex King Fanbeau was angry, frustrated and fed up.

He hated how his absolute favorite dinosaur, the Tyrannosaurus Rex, was either blatantly disrespected in pop culture paleomedia and treated like a punching bag for other massive megatheropods, or had its tremendous power downplayed both in movies and in documentaries.

Well, no more. He wasn’t going to wait around and hope that the next Jurassic Park movie wasn’t going to pit another wimpy T-Rex against a buffed and upsized Carcharodontosaurus. He wasn’t going to leave it to cash-grabbing higher-ups to make a game that DIDN’T feature a Giganotosaurus being significantly larger than a Tyrannosaurus.

He would take things into his own hands. He would reinstate T-Rex as the true King of the Dinosaurs across all of paleomedia - movies, TV shows, games and books alike. All false kings would be crushed into dust and blown away like chaff. No longer would T-Rexes be bullied and treated like worthless fodder; they would turn their competitors into fodder, and the whole world would know why the T-Rex was the Dinosaur King.

Taking out his RealNote and his pen, he began to write…

A large herd of Edmontosaurus annectens grazed on the lush floodplains of what would one day become the Frenchman Formation in Canada. One particular Edmontosaurus, a mature cow of >8700 kg, was browsing especially close to the forest.

Unfortunately, he didn’t notice the even larger bull Tyrannosaurus rex named Scotty stalking him from the forest. With a few, great silent strides, Scotty emerged from the forest in all his 10.7-tonne chonk and glory and closed the distance between him and the blissfully unaware Edmontosaurus.

The camera panned up to show Scotty clamping his jaws around the Edmontosaurus’s back, before disappearing underneath the camera. A loud crack was heard, before Scotty’s head reemerged, his jaws stained crimson with blood.

The camera panned down showing the Edmontosaurus, unmoving, seemingly frozen in time, until its entire body split into halves, its guts and entrails spilling onto the ground.

Scotty bent forward to feast, as the rest of the herd fled in a chorus of panicked bellows and shrieks.

The Torosaurus herd fled in a panic as Scotty gave chase, their footfalls kicking up a great deal of dust and sand.

Targeting an old but still highly experienced and dangerous bull Torosaurus, Scotty caught up and grabbed the left edge of the ceratopsid's frill, before tearing it off to the familiar sound of bone being forcibly ripped out.

The bull gave an agonizing bellow as it turned to face Scotty. A fierce duel ensued, with the bull swinging its head with incredible precision, attempting to gore Scotty with its long keratin horns and attack with its sharp parrot-like beak. Scotty clearly struggled, but still managed to sidestep and make turns quick and sharp enough to avoid them.

Positioning himself in a more favorable position, Scotty hurled his broad, deep chest towards the Torosaurus's torso, shoving and pushing with all his might. The Torosaurus tried to keep himself steady, but one final heave from Scotty sent the bull toppling over on its side. Scotty wasted no time in seizing the opportunity to lunge at the Torosaurus's chest where the ribcage was, and as he bit down, the camera panned to fixate on the splotches of blood and tiny little bits of white bone that had erupted out of the Torosaurus.

The T-Rex fan and his wife watching the paleo-documentary “SCOTTY” were green around the gills, to say the least. They were VERY grateful that they had heeded the documentary’s R-rating and put their kids to sleep first before watching this documentary.

Nevertheless, the documentary had been pretty accurate and realistic in portraying how insanely overpowered the real-life Tyrannosaurus rex was, especially the largest Tyrannosaurus specimen found so far. From its mind-blowing bite effectiveness, to its exceptional agility and battle reflexes, and its brutality in killing its prey - the brutality balanced out by segments of peace and quiet with Scotty doing morning stretches, letting smaller scavengers clean his teeth and nuzzling his mate. The inclusion of the potential Triceratops cow-tipping hunting strategy when Scotty brought down the Torosaurus also made it quite the spectacle.

The Tyrannosaurus Buck let out a deep, thunderous roar in response to the iconic roar of the JP3 Spinosaurus. The most badass T-Rex in the entire Jurassic franchise vs. the OG T-Rex Killer.

The two apex predators charged each other, slamming into each other with earth-shaking force. The 9300 kg Spinosaurus was pushed back by the 10100 kg Buck, but quickly lunged at the Buck with his long narrow jaws. However, the Buck, having had years of experience fighting rival males, expertly dodged them all before ducking underneath and grabbing onto the Spinosaurus’s right arm.

A shower of blood erupted as Buck tore off the Spinosaurus’s arm, and the Spinosaurus reared back and howled in agony. To add insult to injury, the Buck devoured its arm before it.

Infuriated, the Spinosaurus lunged at the Buck, clamping its jaws around it as the Buck roared in pain. However, since it only had one arm, it couldn’t snap its neck! With a mighty heave, the Buck threw off the Spinosaurus’s jaws before lunging and returning the favor by grabbing the Spino’s neck and biting down full force.

CRACK! SPLAT!

Every bone in the Spinosaurus’s neck was instantly shattered, before it was wrenched clean off its socket.

The T-Rex Buck stood over the fallen and decapitated Spinosaurus, before it roared triumphantly. The King of Sorna was still King.

“Jurassic Park 3.5: The King of Sorna” grossed more than thrice that of Jurassic Park 3 and almost 10 times more than “Jurassic World: Dominion” in its box office weekend.

Predictably, Buck fanboys were in a state of euphoria. The movie had been an extremely lavish feast for them; not only because the Buck defeated and killed the Spinosaurus in a 1V1, but also because earlier in the film, the Buck had fought an older, larger scarred male T-Rex invading his territory and attempting to kill his two infant daughters. He had ripped the larger bull's throat out faster than the Spinosaurus snapped the Bull's neck in JP3. It made the final battle even more significant, as it was a battle between two T-Rex Killers.

Spino fanboys, especially STK, were destroying their keyboards and TVs in a fit of apoplectic rage - conveniently ignoring the fact that earlier in the film, the Spinosaurus had fought an adult female T-Rex and killed it by snapping its neck.

The number of Buck vs Rexy Edits on YT also shot up exponentially, with over 90% declaring Buck the winner.

T-Rex & TLW fans were also very happy that they got to see the T-Rex Doe in action; hunting and battling a fully-grown Stegosaurus, tanking and dodging heavy hits from its thagomizer before overpowering and killing it. No longer would the Doe be called featless fodder.

Their little son, Junior, now a horse-sized juvenile, was also featured hunting in the film, fighting an angry bull Pachycephalosaurus and bringing it down. All in all, it was a wonderful treat for fans of Isla Sorna’s T-Rex Family.

Despite this, Buck wasn’t the most popular T-Rex for long.

Because “Primal Carnage: The Movie” was released 4 months later.

Big Daddy let out his iconic roar, a terrifying scream from another world.

This was HIS movie, and even though he was completely unaware of that fact, the dam holding back the immeasurable inferno of his explosive rage and adrenaline and bloodlust had broken - which meant carnage, carnage and more carnage.

As human mercenaries ran from him, their bullets bouncing harmlessly off his armored skin, the 17600-kg Tyrannosaurus Rex thundered after them, the triple-layered steel walls crumbling feebly as he bulldozed his way through them effortlessly like the T-Rex version of the Marvel mutant Juggernaut. As he devoured almost a dozen human mercenaries, laying waste to six more steel structures in the process, he relished how each human literally exploded in his mouth, unknowing that every explosion was in full view of the camera.

When he wandered the old laboratories, he took great pleasure in picking up their armored Toyota Land Cruisers like chew toys, each weighing 4.8 metric tons apiece, crumpling them like paper, before hurling them aside like ragdolls, the cars flying over 600 yards before freefalling into the forest; killing a hapless Novaraptor in the process.

When the humans attempted to escape in a strange flying object with rapidly spinning wings, he grabbed hold of its tail just as it was about to escape, his massive fangs easily shredded off its tail, causing it to spiral out of control into a nearby cliff, exploding in a glorious column of flames. Big Daddy was entranced by the fireworks.

And lastly, a mated pair of Spinosaurus had tried to corner him. Each measuring 65 feet long, 24 feet tall and 14 metric tons. But they stood no chance against their BIG, THICC DADDY. When the male made the first move, Big Daddy headbutted him, causing him to stagger and nearly fall over from the impact. Another headbutt, and the Spinosaurus male fell over on its side, incapacitated. The enraged Spinosaurus female charged at him, landing a series of ferocious bites and slashes - little more than scratches to his nigh-impenetrable hide. He ducked down underneath and courteously disarmed her of her massive clawed arms, before turning to knock the recovered male to the side before reducing his entire neck to a pile of bloodied paste. He’d done the same to the female shortly after, although it was her skull that was a pile of mashed up bone bits.

Primal Carnage fans and T-Rex fans were overjoyed to say the least with Big Daddy’s portrayal in the film. This was what they had secretly wanted and desired all along; a great Primal Carnage movie where the star T-Rex was treated like the supremest of royalty. Spinosaurus fanboys were hurling death threat after death threat to the mysterious director, Trex Fanbeau, but they had as much success as Disney had with woke movies.

Trex Fanbeau was also very pleased with all his work so far. With [SCOTTY], more people would know just how beyond powerful both Scotty as an individual and T-Rex as a species was. With [Jurassic Park 3.5], the Jurassic cinematic universe finally would have a truly strong T-Rex worth respecting compared to Rexy in the Jurassic World films. With [Primal Carnage: The Movie], Big Daddy would finally have his own movie debut, and a fanbase to rival or surpass that of Rexy's.

But he wasn't done yet. Not even close. He hadn't even drilled a few inches into the proverbial iceberg of what he was about to do...
