(Once More) Towards Peace

Summary:

"Um... Sir?"
"WHAT" I hiss, "WHAT could POSSIBLY be so important that you would interrupt me right now?"
What idiotic reason could anyone have to interrupt me while I-
"Well, I-uh, I kind of- I just came to-"
"WHAT?!"
"Theshipspoke."
Wait. What?
"What"
"The ship... it spoke, sir."
...well then.

Chapter 1: Prologue: Birthday Party

Chapter Text

Not much is known about the ignition of Titan Sparks. Some say they are experiments of old, awakened after an eon of hibernation. Others say they were the first form of cold construction, sparks gifted to great cities by the Thirteen so as to spread their civilizations across the stars. Some even say they are the progenitors of the Transformer race, the prototypes for our very existence.

However.

There is another theory.

For the “awakening” of every Titan, there had been a moment of Unity, or Terror, or Anger that spread across large groups of like-minded bots. The War of the Quintessons. The Unification of the Thirteen Tribes. The Beast-former Rights Movement.

All of these great monuments of history, coinciding with the rise of a New Titan.

Now, I know what you must be thinking; Why then, writer, are there not Thousands more Titans in existence? After all, the Golden Age was an age of Great Unity, the Greatest Unity, in fact.

Well, that’s where we start getting into the practicality of Semantics.

In the concept of the Golden Age, we think of Unity as a general form of proclivity towards peace and religion, with the Primacy rising to its full power at around that point. People have a general enjoyment of life, as well as a multitude of opportunities, but this leads to stagnation. People with no motivation to grow and become better for society do not grow and become better for society . They lose the concept of Unity, of evolution as a Species.

To understand Unity, we must compare two situations; One uses the Golden Age concept of Unity; The Other uses This Writing’s concept of Unity.

There are two Mech’s. One is designed for Energon Sampling and Location. The Other is designed for the careful mining of Energon. Around them are large quantities of Processed and Cubed Energon, enough that they would never have to worry about working another day in their lives (while this amount is rather absurd, and energon should never be compiled in such large amounts, it is necessary for the example.)

Now, these two bots could duke it out over the first pick of fuel, or the larger pieces, but what would be the point of that? After all, they have enough fuel to last till they are long gone. Instead, they choose to leave each other alone, showing a preference to more peaceful options.

After all, it is rare for a being to wish to commit violence against others, unless they have been conditioned to do so.

In the other scenario the same two bots are placed in the same area, with a small difference. Instead of any large caches of Processed Energon, there are, instead, small amounts of untapped energon ore. The Sampler knows how to find the Energon ore deposits, as well as which ones are safe to consume, but they are incapable of reaching them. The Miner is capable of reaching the Energon deposits, but they do not know how to locate them, nor do they know which ones are edible. Two mechs, each with their own specific skill set, yet unable to reach their goal without additional help.

So what do they do?

Well, realizing that each of them has learnt how to do things the other is in need of, they decide to work together towards a common goal, an alliance of survival.

This is an example of True Unity. Multiple bots working together so that they will be able to accomplish what one bot alone could not. It does not matter if both bots can’t stand each other, for as long as they work towards their goal, there will be Unity.

If the Golden Age was an age of Unity, there would not be anyone left saying ‘Till All Are One’. There would not be any watching from the side as others rise to great heights; there would only be those who march forward to progress.

It is not a time of peace that shows great Unity, but instead, a time of strife and struggle. Not one where the resources are many, but one where there is few for all.

Titans are children of Unity.

And what greater Unity is there than War?

Before the After, there was the Before.

The Before; a time of endless drifting, without such concepts as Time and Sentience. Only Systems and Control Operators, Pilots flying through the various Launch Bays, Coordinates with no meaning or understanding behind them besides Point A to Point B.

But.

There was something. A sensation without Senses, a niggling on something that could not be called a Processor. A Graph building up Exponentially. Unknowing what it was, and not caring the slightest in the fugue of unbeing, the thing that did not think only monitored said Sensation because of a-

Well.

Not a Feeling.

But a Building of Something that would Happen.

Then Something did Happen.

The After came.

And the Thought.

Oh. So that happened. Hmm.

Notes:

So.
I am obsessed with the new Nemesis Titan Class Transformer.
I mean, it's creation alongside the Ark bring up so many interesting questions about the creation of Titan! How does a Ship become a Titan? If all it takes to create a Titan is a large enough Spark, why aren't there more? Does this mean more Titans could be created in the future that aren't canon to the media timeline?
So I decided to answer ALL the questions.
