Chapter Text
Suzan began her day as she did any other, with a dose of pheromone suppressants considered unsafe by doctors and a shirt buttoned up high enough to hide her protective collar. She put a hat on to hide her antler buds which were itching like the dickens. She had just gotten signed on as an office member of the design team for a rather decent clothing company. A secretary position admittedly, but she still didn’t want to accidentally reveal that she is trans yet seeing as she barely even knew the team, and she definitely didn’t want them to know she is an omega. Ever. The company didn’t ban omegas from being hired, fortunately, they even allowed you to refuse disclosure of your status, a lot of companies still didn’t offer that as an option.
She threw her blazer on after buckling up her slacks. It wasn’t some expensive attire, she wasn’t one to spend more than needed for workwear so she often just grabbed whatever looked nice from the local thrift shop. She took a deep breath looking in the mirror as she readied herself for the day before taking her pills. One tan, one blue, and she was out the door as the blue dissolved under her tongue. As she hopped on the bus she received a message from her boss, Syke who requested that she stop by her office when she arrived. She sighed and hoped for the best, mentally preparing herself for the worst as she waited to reach her stop.
Upon entering the workplace she noticed that everyone seemed more excited and cheerful than usual. Some tails were even wagging up a storm. As she entered Syke’s office she couldn’t help but notice the confident look on her face, which frankly suited her perfectly. Her ears were perked up atop her short blonde hair.
“Good evening ma’am,” Suzan said feeling slightly anxious.
“I’m glad you’re here,” Syke said, smiling widely enough that her fangs were very visible, “I’ve got some good news, everyone else has already been notified.”
“What might that be, ma’am?” she asked, grabbing the back of the chair in front of her, but not sitting down.
“We’re getting a bonus due to the fact that our design team won the most recent company wide competition so to celebrate it I’m taking the whole team, yourself included, to a nice place for dinner tonight,” she responded, her eyes getting wider with excitement.
“But, ma’am, I’m just your secretary, you don’t need to invite me to it,” Suzan responded, hoping to avoid a company hang out.
“I’m not taking no for an answer on this,” Syke said, her smiling gaze feeling like it could see right through her.
“Understood ma’am,” Suzan said with a feigned smile.
“Good,” Syke said, “I’ll be sure to give you a ride so you don’t have to wait for the bus to get to it.”
“Thank you ma’am but you don-” Suzan started.
“Nope, I’m giving you a ride and that’s final, Miss Landry,” Syke interrupted, leaning back in her chair.
“Yes ma’am,” Suzan said with a slight sigh before leaving to start work.
Three hours passed into the shift. Three turned to four and four turned to six. She saw Sykes entering and exiting the building frequently but didn’t ask what was going on. When she clocked out for break as she took one of her blue pills before she took the elevator downstairs and bumped heads with Sykes quite literally as she walked onto the elevator as Suzan was about to get off, and they both fell onto the floor, with Syke accidentally pinning her down.
“Hi, sorry about that,” Syke said standing up and offering a hand, “I’ve been all over the place today.”
“So I’ve noticed, ma’am,” Suzan responded, taking Syke’s hand, shocked with how much ease she seemed to lift her off the ground with one hand, her muscles showing well under her dress shirt.
“Are you on break at the moment?” Sykes asked with a toothy grin.
“Yes ma’am, I am,” she replied, adjusting her clothes slightly now that she was on two feet.
“How about I take you out to eat then?” she asked, “my treat.”
“Oh, that’s very kind, ma’am, but you don’t have to do that,” Suzan said, feeling slightly anxious, “I’ve already got my lunch in my bag, besides you’re taking us to dinner tonight right?”
“I suppose so,” she responded, slightly sadly it seemed, “just be sure to bring your smile to the party, okay?”
“Yes, Ms. Stanton, will do,” Suzan said as she left the elevator. Not noticing the sad look on Syke’s face as she left
She didn’t see much of Syke when she returned to work. Slowly the clock turned as she worked on various tasks to ensure efficiency, not just for Syke but for the team. Well as efficient as she could make it. As she worked she didn’t really notice the clock until after Syke showed up beside her as she was clocking out.
“You ready for that ride?” she asked smirking.
“Yes Ma’am, just one moment,” Suzan said as she was finalizing some drafts to send to other departments requesting information in regards to the demands for one design that was rather vague.
“As much as I appreciate your dedication to you job you can do that in the morning,” Syke said, spinning Suzan’s chair around to face her. A blush formed on Suzan’s face as she picked up on her boss’ mint scented pheromones as she was inches from her face.
“Yes ma’am, I’m sorry,” she said before saving the the draft and grabbing her bag. She readjusted her hat as they stepped onto the elevator, “Did everyone already leave?”
“Yeah, they left about ten minutes ago,” she responded, “I stayed around just to make sure you were coming.”
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t trying to make you wait, or us late,” Suzan said sadly.
“You don’t need to apologize for everything,” Syke said, “as endearing as it is it’s also a little annoying.”
“Sorr- um… yes ma’am, understood,” she responded.
“Also, enough with the ma’am and the missus,” she continued, “Just call me Syke. Literally everyone else in the office does, we’re all on a first name basis with everyone else except you.”
“So-er yes… understood, Syke,” Suzan said, looking away from her boss.
“It’s going to take a while to break you out of that habit, isn’t it?” she asked, grabbing her employee’s chin and making her look up at her, “Listen to me, you’re doing a great job, I’m glad you’re here with us, but I’d like for you to be here with us, not just a worker bee drone. If I wanted that I would have hired one of those omegas.”
“Do you… not like omegas?” Suzan asked, trying to refrain from making a face of annoyance or anger.
“I don’t dislike them,” Syke said, frowning, “It’s just that they’re socialized for complete obedience, which is good in a worker but I still want everyone to have… more depth to them I suppose.”
“Well I’m glad you don’t hate them,” she said trying to refrain from putting emotion in her voice as they stepped off the elevator, “Far too many people do.”
The drive to the restaurant wasn't very long, in fact multiple of their coworkers had walked to the place. Suzan stared at Syke for a little bit as she pulled in to park. Syke’s smile was unreasonably big, her fangs were glistening in the under the street lights as they passed, going into the parking lot. As they went in the rest of the team was already waiting for them. Suzan was going to order a softdrink but Syke seemed rather insistent that she order something hard, at least for the toast, and Suzan caved in. She was always a lightweight when it came to drinking, just a wine spritzer was enough to get her silly when she was still in school. Syke began with some rather longwinded speech, nothing that really applied to Suzan but she certainly pretended to be listening. After their cheers Suzan began to drink a long island iced tea and stayed rather quiet as Syke and the rest of the team was chatting. She stopped paying attention to the time after she drank a second one, and by the time the third one came around Syke began watching her closely. As Suzan began drifting off slightly in her seat Syke decided it would be an appropriate time to go home. Suzan could barely understand when Syke asked her where she lived and Syke couldn’t understand a single thing Suzan was telling her, so she decided to just take Suzan to her home, and she would just drop her off in the morning.
It was on the middle of the drive home that Suzan’s hat fell off, revealing that she was growing antlers, which was a bit of a surprise to Syke, not that she minded, it wasn’t like it was the first time she had a crush on a trans woman before. What was more of a shock to her was that as she carried the small beta into her home she was hit with incredibly strong omega pheromones. She placed Suzan on the couch before stepping back a moment. Suzan barely opened her eyes but the sight of her boss felt like a dream. She whined comfortably as Syke leaned over her confused before she kissed her boss softly as she pulled her ontop of herself and hugged her tightly.
“Suzan, you need to wake up,” Syke said softly, as she tried to resist the pull of the drunken omega.
Suzan clung tighter to her as she nuzzled her neck. “Suzan please, you’re drunk,” she said, purring unintentionally as Suzan whined.
Suzan softly kissed her neck before falling completely asleep, face nestled against her neck. Syke didn’t pull herself away from Suzan at this point, just breathing in the lavender scented pheromones as she relaxed against her. She might wake up with a crick in her neck and a startled deer beneath her, but that’d be something for sober Syke to worry about, until then she would rest cuddling the crush she brought home.
