Chapter Text
Matthew, a ten year old boy opened his eyes. He looked over his bed and to see his clock noticing it was 6:00 a.m..
"Oh, no! I'm late, I am super duper late. I have to get dressed. I'm doomed," he stopped to keep himself sane. "Okay, Don't be a fool, Matthew, you can still make it." He struggled to reassure himself.
Matthew got ready, packed his stuff up, and walked out the door.
Meanwhile a 6-ft lizard awoke noticing he, as well was late for school.
"You've got to be kidding me, I'm late for school. Well, doesn't mean I can't make it. I shouldn't have to worry about first impression, cause I am not interested," Godzilla assured himself through talking to himself listing his dislikes.
The lizard put clothes on , grabbed and packed his stuff, and went out the door.
Both boys got on to their bikes and pedaled to the new school, Titan High where they had just been enrolled a few weeks ago.
Matthew arrived in front of the school and got off his bike to run inside.
Godzilla pedaled faster than he ever had before, he arrived in front of the school and ran inside.
The two ran through the halls and towards the gym.
Matthew opened the door to the gym, and walked towards the line of invited students waiting for their names to be called.
Godzilla raced to the gym, when he was about to enter through the door, it immediately closed on his face.
He reopened the door frustrated at the stupidity, and secretly hoping no one saw, walked to the line of new, enrolled students, and stood next to Matthew.
"I'd like to welcome all, you new students. I'm Dean Battra, and I will be testing you all for your competence so that you just might qualify to attend this school. First up, Ghidorah," Battra, the dark moth Titan explained in a calm, somewhat friendly tone in his voice a hint of rudeness rested in it.
Ghidorah walked up to the Dean, and stood proud and tall.
Battra further eludicated,"Each student will reveal their one to various powers and abilities to Principle Kong and me. We, alone will determine if your power or ability, is competent enough to be further discovered and strengthened at this particular school. Ghidorah, What is your power?"
"Which one shouId I impress you with first? I have many. One of them being a powerful, electric blast that can wipe out all power in a 20 mile radius. Or perhaps, my gravity beams," Ghidorah gloated extra pridefully.
"Fine, That should be good enough. You might not have demonstrated to us your 'impressive powers' but you enlightened us. So, Welcome to Titan High. Next up. Matthew," Battra nodded as he explained to Ghidorah then called up the next possible "new student".
'Hi, Do I just start, or what?" Matthew asked sheepishly.
"Yes, What is your power, Human?" Battra wondered raising an eyebrow at the realization of a human's presence in a school for Titans.
"Um, I have the ability to understand the Titans, so my parents sent me here to learn what other powers I might have. I kinda think that's pretty obvious given I am personally speaking to you, Sir. With all due respect, of course, Sir," Matthew responded awkwardly.
"Wow, that is a very, rare gift for a species like humans. Well, it looks like, we have our first human in Titan High, welcome, Young man," Battra replied ignoring the last comment.
"Thank you, Sir," Matthew whispered nearly wishing to slap himself.
"Next up, Godzilla," Battra shouted as the room echoed his voice and statement in the room.
"Hey, I'm Godzilla. The only powers, I know of, is my atomic breath and my accelerated healing rate, So far, of course," Godzilla answered.
"Wow, not positive if you having more powers, is good for students, but this school is to encourage Titans to discover what they are truly capable of. The more students we do not know, the more surprises we get. Principle Kong will show those that have already, been welcomed into the school to their dormitories," Battra described furthering his point with his hands.
Matthew, Ghidorah, and Godzilla followed the principle out of the room, before out of earshot, Godzilla heard Battra call the next name as the young lady's voice was sounded in response.
"I am......" the voice blurred as they reached a hall far enough to be out of earshot. Godzilla was unable to hear the rest of it.
The Principle led them to another hall full of rooms on both sides.
"Okay, two Titans will share a room, and will have to learn to get along over the next few days, so that they may aid each other in reaching their full potential," Kong explained with his hands held behind his back.
"Wait, but I thought, You guys, were going to help us reach our full potential?" What possibly could friends do? I'd rather do it by myself," Godzilla questioned.
"Oh! We will, but friends, as you prefer to put it, will help, as well as fail safe, besides naturally kids around your age, would be far more helpful than We as teachers may be. Your friends can help you grow with more relatable issues," Kong replied in explanation.
"Pftt, I don't need friends. I can do anything by myself, amazingly might I add, like I would need a person constantly nagging me, all the time like a fly, useless unless for eating," Ghidorah disagreed bragging about his "obvious" greatness.
"Actually, that proves more, that you are going to, either as a loss cause, or you're going to need a lot more help than the rest," Kong warned.
"What, Noooooo!!" Ghidorah lashed out angrily in a small temper tantrum.
"Ghidorah, you and Rodan get the dirtiest dorm. The two of you, will clean it together and share it, no exceptions," Kong ordered firmly.
"Can't you just give an exception, just for me. I'll give you anything," Ghidorah pleaded confident his charm would remove him from this situation.
"Aaand, that's detention for bribery," Kong shouted in Ghidorah's internal ears almost starting the whole school.
"Aaawww man," Ghidorah whispered ready to scream out his problems.
"Godzilla, you get Matthew, our first human. It's your lucky day, so keep your chin up," Kong informed friendlier than he previously was with Ghidorah.
"It is your lucky day," Ghidorah laughed.
"Wait, Principle, Can't I get my own dorm? or at least, not have one with the human," Godzilla complained hoping to sway the Principal.
"No, you get the dorm, I assigned to you," Kong responded in disagreement.
"But he's a human, and I'm a Titan. I don't see a point in sharing with a pest," Godzilla answered unwilling to obey.
"Enough!!!!!!!" Kong shouted.
"Yes, Sir," Godzilla whispered respectfully still irritated at the order.
Godzilla walked into his dorm as he heard the same feminine voice he heard during tryouts.
"Where do I stay, Principle?" He heard the young lady mumble.
"You get your own room, Mothra. Right here," Kong retorted kindly.
"Thank you, Principle," Mothra murmured.
Godzilla closed the door and leaned against it, "So her name is Mothra." He said admirably.
Matthew put his suitcase on the bottom bunk of the bunk bed, and began to unpack his suitcase.
Godzilla lifted his suitcase as he climbed up onto the top bunk. He opened his suitcase, and began unpacking.
"I'll have you know, I am more than just a human," Matthew mentioned neither looking at one another.
"Okay, Then what else are you?" Godzilla asked curiously raising an eyebrow.
"I don't know, not yet anyway, and I'm not going to let some overgrown lizard get in the way of that," Matthew responded rolling his eyes at the ridiculousness of such a rude question.
"Yeah, well to us, Titans, humans are completely useless, they're like bugs to us, simple and pathetic, and that is exactly what I think, of you," Godzilla informed placing the last of his clothes in a shelf.
"Yeah? Well, you can think of me as whatever and however you wish, but we, humans are a lot smarter than Titans. If I have to, I will have someone else help me with my powers," Matthew warned mimicking Godzilla behind his back.
"Okay, Look, we need to become friends, as quickly as possible. So I,.. We can move on, I believe, we got off on the wrong foot here," Godzilla explained strangly trying to make peace maybe this place was already inffecting him.
"Uh, yeah, you think? What gave you the first clue?" Matthew replied sarcastically quitting the mimicking when Godzilla turned to face him.
"Lets start over, I'm Godzilla," Godzilla greeted as kindly as he could.
"I'm Matthew," Matthew answered holding in the annoying comment Godzilla told him that started this stupid conversation.
Godzilla walked toward him, opened his mouth, and licked Matthew's face.
"Ew, why, the world, did you do that?" Matthew wondered nearly gagging and wiping the slobber off his face.
"That's how, we Titans greet each other either that, or we nuzzle each other's faces and neck. I could do that, instead of the licking, it goes like this," Godzilla described in explanation offering to demonstrate the second option.
"No, that's okay, the licking was enough," Matthew answered shuddering.
Suddenly they heard a loud whistle, in the hallways as the principle spoke, "Students, out of your rooms!!" Principle Kong demanded with Battra beside him.
All the students came out of their rooms and lined up a the room doors.
"You all, must follow Principle Kong, he will show you to the first class of the day. We kindly gave you 25 minutes to start a friendship, because those friends are your partners throughout each class, good luck, students," Dean Battra eludicated.
The students followed Principle Kong into an empty class room that didn't seem like a classroom it looked more like training grounds.
"This is school?" Matthew asked confusedly.
"Yes, Ms. Megaguirus, they're all yours," Kong complained practically dumping the students onto the teacher.
"Welcome, children, to the first class of the day, stand against the wall next to your partners, in this class you will partner up with your dormmates, and will use your powers to take out the following targets. First up is Ghidorah and Rodan," Megaguirus explained.
"We'll ace this, specifically me, I can ace anything," Ghidorah bragged.
"Just get started, you two, and it must be together, or you fail the exam," Megaguirus informed nicely but firmly.
Ghidorah flew up into the sky leaving his friend in the dust, at the starting line. As he shot all the targets, and stood at the finish line, proud of his accomplishment, one of the targets fell on top of his head making him instantly fall to the ground.
"So how did I do?" Ghidorah wondered pridefully.
"Well, let me just checked the scoreboard,.. you failed, you didn't listen to a word, I just told you, so that is an F for Fail. Rodan, you can retake with Mothra, since your partner couldn't learn to be a team player," Megaguirus lashed out angrily then sweetly spoke to Rodan.
"Thank you, Ms. Megaguirus," Rodan replied gratefully.
Ghidorah lowly growled, rolled his eyes, and walked back against the wall.
"Next up, Rodan and Mothra," Ms. Megaguirus mentioned.
"Okay, I am ready, I was born ready!!" Rodan stated in excitement ready for the word go.
"Three, Two, One, GO!!" Megaguirus ordered.
Rodan and Mothra flew through the sky hitting all the targets, and stopped at the finish line.
"How was that?" Mothra mumbled.
"Was that good enough?" Rodan asked.
That was a B-Minus, well done, you two," Megaguirus answered.
Godzilla stood there in shock at what he just saw, she was amazing. He thought, the way she fought was so cool.
Mothra stood back against the wall.
"Hey, I think you did really good," Godzilla warned.
"Thanks," Mothra smiled a light blush heating her cheeks.
"I'm sorry, Was that weird?" Godzilla said.
"Next up Godzilla and Matthew!" Not giving a warning or heads-up, Megaguirus announced.
"Us?" Matthew questioned.
"Yes, good luck," Megaguirus responded bluntly.
"Oh, dear," Matthew murmured nervously.
"We didn't practice, prepare to be embarassed," Godzilla informed worriedly.
The two ran through the targets getting hit by every single one of them, and as they finally emerged through to the finish line in bruises, Matthew fell to the ground onto his stomach, and Godzilla fell onto Matthew's back.
"So, how did we do?" Matthew asked.
Once that class was over all the students exited the class and headed to the next one.
