Chapter Text
-10 Years later-
Watching as the gray clouds begin to pass through the sky, tear drop like rain began to come down from the sky. Sitting by the window of a local cafe, a writer sighs out loud as he remembers events from his past. It had been 10 years since his first love had slipped away from him. The day after he had found out the news of Izuku’s disappearance, he went to go to the Midoriya’s house hoping to see Mrs.Midoriya. However much to his misfortunes the Midoriyas had moved over the weekend without leaving a trace. From then on, his life in his school seemed to be mundane and lifeless. No longer did he hear the laugh he use to hear every morning, and no more was the stupid yet endearing muttering the other did.
As time passed on he noticed himself becoming more and more distant from others. The friends that him and Izuku use to share no longer talked to him or vice versa. It didn’t matter to Shouto though, he felt like he deserved it after all that happened. He thought he could shake things off and forget about the other, but he found it was hard. Without proper closure, the other plagued his memory. Thus caused the memory of the green haired boy to never leave him, not even for a moment.By the time he graduated, the only friend he seemed to have was Yayorozu. No matter how much he tried to shake her off, she was persistent on being a friend and only that. When they graduated, Momo had asked what he was going to do for the rest of his life. And to answer her he simply said he didn’t know. One of the things he wanted to do for sure however was go abroad like Izuku. Though that idea was shot down when no one would tell him what country the other had went to. Which he understood completely, after all he wouldn’t want to hurt the other again by giving him unwanted flashbacks. So by default, the young Todoroki worked for his father’s book publishing company. Though he hated every minute of it, but he didn’t have any better options while he was in college.
It wasn’t until his third year that he had truly found something he wanted to be, which so happened to be within the line of work he was in already. Not too long ago he was given a book by Yaoyorozu, which she swore would help him take his mind off of things. Taking the book, he decided it wouldn’t hurt to try it out. Skimming through the pages he noticed that it was a graphic novel instead of a chapter book. Never had he dared read something like it, but hey there was a first time for everything. Reading the comic, he began to become sucked into the story and had to admit it wasn’t half bad for a romance. After he was finished he was going to set it aside and never read another comic again, but then he turned to the back of the book. There with words littered all over it was the author’s purpose for writing this book. Most people who read comics would tend to ignore this bit, especially if someone were completely uninterested like Shouto. However since it was a day for first, he chose to listen to the author’s reasoning for writing such a sad yet heartwarming romance.
Scanning the sentences one by one, the mixed-haired male reads in amazement. This person had based this off of true events from their own life. It was a daring choice, he thought. How could someone expose themselves like that? But then it hit him. Maybe the reason they did this was to warn others of their shortcomings, and to prevent them from making their mistakes! It was a far fetched analysis, but somehow that thought led to a big step in his life. Thanking Yaoyorozu for giving him the book,Todoroki had explained his intentions to her. After hearing what he had to say, his best friend agrees and encourages his decision. So here he was in a cafe as the rain began to fall from the sky.Now the question was what specifically should he write about, and how would he do it? Would he make a comic or a novel? He could teach everyone about how to stand up for yourself after all your hardships?Perhaps he would even tell others about how to avoid the mistakes he made in college. Closing his eyes, Shouto ponders on an idea before he sees it. Across from where the cafe was stood a bench under a cherry blossom tree. In an instant he was transported to the moment he and Izuku shared their first kiss on their fifth date. Feeling his heart swell, at the memory he knew that was what he had to write about. It was a topic he could have passion in as well as make the reading experience feel genuine. Turning to look at the paper on the counter, he writes the title before brainstorming how he would tell his story.
The Memory of My First Love
