Summary
The loss of his parents having undermined his place within Tenakth society, Kotallo has never quite felt at home in his skin. Now abandoned over again as exile guised in supposed honor, he is charged with an unusual task: to serve as guide to Fashav, the man who walks in between worlds, who is both and neither Carja or Tenakth. Their developing feelings for one another must be negotiated among a web of duties and differences, strife and bloodshed, and always in the long shadow that the Sun casts over the West.
