“He might’ve followed us then,” Liam says, eyes shifting to look over Theo’s shoulder as if checking for Bo.
Theo cocks an eyebrow. “Do you have some kind of issue with the guy?”
His ears perk up at the noticeable uptick in Liam’s heartbeat. “No,” he lies.
A high-school party + two guys who might just genuinely be incapable of open communication.

Summary
Theo used to think he was immovable.
Rooted so deep with no force strong enough to rock the sturdy balance that is immobility. Fixed in his spot while everyone moved on and past him, ever so willing to leave him in the dirt he called home. Long stuck like the parts of him that are left in the water that runs through the sewers, dripping down the walls and tainting the air. He stayed there, unwilling to fall and unable to be cleaned. He found himself stuck in the dirt and muck that everyone despises, but never more than he ever could. And yet, that murky water runs through him with his pain and his suffering and every other muddy misunderstanding thing until it’s just him, tainted and dirty and stuck right where everyone eventually left him.
He was still the unyielding object who had yet to meet a true unstoppable force.
(or the one where i put my own trauma on theo and then made it like 10x worse)

Summary
Theo gets poisoned, Liam helps.

“Theo,” he whispers. Theo didn’t know he’d closed his eyes, but now it’s too hard to open them. “Theo,” Liam half pleads, half growls.His eyes flutter open, tinging yellow, claws digging at the dirt ground.
“I think it’s poisoned,” Theo says, voice cracked and raspy. Liam looks like he’s panicking–he sounds and he smells like he’s panicking. The rapid heartbeat, wide darting eyes, and frantic buzzing anxiety in the air gives it away. Theo breathes deep. “Liam, calm down.”
“I’m trying,” And he is. There’s an obvious effort going in to keeping fear and especially anger at bay. He can tell he’s focusing, on calming down, processing one thing at a time.
But he needs help–Theo can do that. He can help. Theo scoots himself to sit straighter on the tree. “The hunters will give up soon, you won’t have to worry about me much longer.”
That snaps Liam out of his focus. Bad, bad thing. “What? Won’t have to– Theo.”
“What?”
“You really think I’m worried about the hunters right now? I don’t care about the fucking hunters–” Liam’s heart skipped. He cares. “I care about what’s happening to you.”
