Yep, his life was going great.
Look, he figured the only thing an omega like him was good for was dying on the street where he belonged. Which was why he could not understand why this strange Scottish beta was suddenly offering to help him turn his life around. People didn't just do that kind of thing. And whatever this man wanted from him, Eggsy was going to figure it out.
Or a new spin on the first Kingsman movie if Merlin was more the lead character than Harry.

Since the arrival of the Kaiju, the Jaeger Program has been humanity's number-one source of protection - and in the UK at least, they've realized that the best Jaeger pilots are an Alpha and Omega pair. Harry Hart can attest to that - Merlin was his Omega partner, until they both retired to teaching roles instead, Harry teaching the young Alpha candidates and Merlin the Omegas.
Today Merlin has an Omega graduate that is ready to be tested in the sparring ring to find an Alpha Drift partner - a rather public bit of combat colloquially known as 'the Heat.'
There are two problems with this: 1) Harry's students can't seem to wrap their heads around the fact that the sparring is not about seeing who can dominate the Omega in the ring, it's about compatibility, and 2) Merlin's Omega student, Eggsy... looks entirely too good standing shirtless in that sparring ring, armed with nothing but a staff and a challenging smile.
