Naruto bowed his head as Iruka scolded him. Turning to Sakura, Iruka asked, "You think what he did was terrible, right, Miss Haruno? He defaces the Hokage faces!"
The pink-haired Jonin, wearing her vest, looked at Naruto and playfully ruffled his hair, defusing the tension as her green eyes met Narutos: "You could've been sneakier, Naru-kun. You are a shinobi, after all. And honestly, you could have drawn even more poop on the 4th Hokage right there." Iruka was left speechless, stammering in disbelief a ´wtf´, while Naruto's face brightened with a wide grin. Meanwhile, Fugaku Uchiha, seated in the Hokage’s chair with the hat to match, was doubled over in laughter—a rare sight for a Uchiha as he wheezed in mirth. The Anbu members in the room could only stare blankly at the bizarre scene unfolding before them.

The first sign was how silent Naruto became.
The way he walked was inaudible, he stopped screaming and seemed to listen more. Read more, ask more looking as if he was desperate to survive. Even his daily proclamation to be Hokage someday seemed to be swallowed down.
It didn't ring alarm bells to them even when he stopped asking Kakashi to teach him a new jutsu or Sakura for help with academics. It didn't help that Naruto always seemed distant and more tired sometimes or hostile when he stopped Sakura one day from hitting him and asked her to stop hitting him as it hurt. Then when he volunteers to do more D-rank missions with his shadow clones his team shrugs it off at first.
But when Naruto seems to get more distant and tired even it's time for her friends to pick up the pieces of the puzzle and how what's wrong with their resident sunshine in orange. -
