In celebration of all the NYC marathon lottery winners, here are some of my tips for first time marathon runners… FIRST OFF… Congratulations on officially signing up for one - that’s the first step! Only about 0.17% of the entire world population has completed a marathon - which just shows how much of an amazing goal it is! 1. Choose a marathon plan that fits your running schedule and fitness. I would choose one that has at least 1-2 x 20 mile long run (just to help with boosting confidence and digging deep during the actual race). 2. Stretch and strengthen plan will saveee your legs 🦵🏼 Implementing yoga once a week or a stretching routine before bed will aid in recovery.
