SAGE III-ISS Level 1B
Entry Title: SAGE III/ISS solar level 1B data product, version 6.0 (monthly, NetCDF-4)
Entry ID: g3btmnc_6
Aerosols Radiation Budget
Description
The Stratospheric Aerosol and Gas Experiment on the International Space Station (SAGE III/ISS) uses a technique known as occultation to survey atmospheric gases and aerosols. From its low earth orbit platform, the SAGE III/ISS spectrometer observes light from the sun and moon as they rise and set through Earth's atmospheric limb. This spectrometer data is used to calculate profiles of ozone, water vapor, and nitrogen oxide concentration, as well as aerosol extinction coefficients and particle size distributions with high vertical resolution in the stratosphere and upper troposphere.
