In the Konosuba universe, a crimson demon is any member of a village known for producing highly capable but highly eccentric archwizards who as a rule wield advanced magic; Megumin and Yun'yun are notable exceptions in that Megumin wields Explosion magic and Yun'yun has common sense, which leads them both to be considered oddballs among the other villagers. They all have red eyes, weird names, and a barcode on their bodies, with the location of the barcode depending on each individual. The crimson demon village has long been a thorn on the Devil King's side and he has sent his armies against them many times, to little success.
