Nothing quite like an entire city being more or less destroyed in the pursuit of one criminal.
Nina... well, I think she'll grow on me. Dragon action is always awesome fun. Thumbs up for the first ep.
The first 2 episodes were really cool and just as well produced as the first season. But in every other aspect this is nothing like the first season. Completely different themes, premise and main cast and dynamics.
Also I was really surprised by the great ending song. Did not expect someone as big as Daoko doing an anime song.
I find this quite enjoyable to watch. Basically Favaro was replaced with the similarly light-hearted Nina, at least for now, I mean, Favaro is on the cover. Well I don't have a problem with him missing. Episode 5 was still quite fun to watch, even if it had a note of slice of life mainly focusing on the girls: Nina, Mugaro, Rita.
I dig the ending. I can't say this about many Animes.
Writing is still as inconsistent as ever and the pacing is sloppy at times but still, so much fun.
I'd also give it best animation 2017 for the dragon motion and fire effects alone!
Then again, it just looks gorgeous all round.

The whole show is unbelievably beautiful, the shots the we see of the entire city or the outskirts of the city are some of the best looking shots of 2017. The animation during the fights are great and the character designs are also not that shabby, the show hasn't lost any of its beautifulness since the first season but instead has gained better quality.
The writing is indeed questionable but it's so much fun that it doesn't bother me at all. I said the same about the first season that the show feels like a movie, this doesn't feel like a series but instead we are seeing parts of a movie, that's why I think that this show will most likely be best watched in one or two sittings instead by watching it weekly, even though personally I won't be able to wait so I will watch it weekly.
I miss Favaro, he was an amazing lead character that was the main part that people thought about if you mentioned the show. Nina isn't bad though, heck she is actually an extremely entertaining character but she can't really replace Favaro for me, I won't be surprised though if he comes back in the next couple of episodes, I actually will be surprised if he doesn't. Also not having Amira there is actually hurting me...
Edit: I just noticed that this show is 24 episodes, let's change 1-2 sittings to 3-4 sittings and there might take some time until Favaro arrives.
Can you link us to the posts of these many people that specifically state that a person didn't like the 1st season because of Favaro?
His character rating is sitting at 5.76 right now. Are you seriously trying to claim he's "an amazing lead character" with that score?
He's highly divisive. While I agree he's the "main part that people thought about if you mentioned the show", he was quite clearly not received all that favorably and just barely squeaked by with an above average rating.
^ ye u right, he was really a hate him or love him character, I was in the love him side but there were a huge split about him. I personally miss him but I bet that there are a lot of people that are happy that Nina is the focus now.
Guys, i wouldn't look at character ratings that much.
That's calculated with anidb's gross average formula, which screws over stuff with fewer votes (i.e. characters).
Favaro's rating for S1 is an average 6.85/10. But yeah, sure enough, 5 people did vote 1 so there is some hate there.
Even someone with mostly 9s and 10s like Amira has 1.5 points fewer listed than the average.
Actually, for me, the one i didn't like in S1, and gave a 4 to was Amira. Because she had barely any character at all.
The reveal later on justified half of her shortcomings but I'm still very grateful we have someone like Nina as the main character instead.
Haha, Nina is so girly, fun and sort of annoying at the same time. I like her a lot!
And as someone who easily blushes I can only sympathise with her - and quite jealous I don't turn into a red dragon.
Not sure what to say about the plot yet, it still feels like a work in progress, but I'm enjoying the show so far, at least.
Who, 7, the last episode was pretty bad.
Mostly because the "twist" was obvious from a mile away, yet they decided to pad out the episode with all these awkward, soundless face close-ups and leave it for the end, basically wasting an episode for a 4 minute plot.
But it's all those facial expressions scenes that drove me nuts.
Man, Nina was so terrible in the last few episodes. She was so dumb, and no like in character dumb but, acting like a moron that didn't understand the situation around her.
All her scenes were so awkward and weirdly set-up, she appears out of nowhere in places, gets pushed around by regular humans, as if she didn't have strength anymore...
It's like whoever was writing her left and no one knew what to do with this OP character.
Ep 9 went back to normal and it was awesome but the damage has been done.
looks like we're gonna BAHA BAHA BAHA SOUL it up for 24 episodes this time
though even if it were just 12, it would STILL be the superior shingeki showing this season
MAPPA got dis in da bag
does anyone still even care about Eotens
awww that sucks, was hoping 13 eper. I was wondering why it was draggin on so slowly, I was prety sure it wouldn't end.
