Has 2-3 highlights (one funny filler ep) but the rest was already nothing special back then when it got aired here in 2002.

Open ending
Great opening tune.

Art of the characters is something it takes getting used to (large noses).

This was the first title with sex I saw in manga form 8 years ago. It took me by surprise! Wow, sex in cartoons!

Well, now that this is no longer something special, I also find it totally generic and boring as a series.

By the way, the mangaka was tranfered to America and made an Americanized version of it in comic, as well as prodused several DC superhero amerimanga.

...and they sucked. Superman in anime looks ??? (facepalm)

Above all, a boring anime, also, the story is like something a guy in school would right in a sci-fi assay, not to mention the shallow chars and dialogs. The first episode felt like I was watching the intro to a shitty video game.
Overall, I don't recommend this to anyone, really.

Actually he made a Batman story, manga-style (Child of Dreams) then he moved to Marvel and was the artist of Uncanny X-Men for some time. He also made a manga adaption of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

Silent Mobius? More like Silent Bank Manager, considering how threadbare the animation is for it's time. Compare it to other shows from 1998 and you'll understand what I mean.

I don't remember too much about the show, but I saw this back in 2002 and the ending theme ("Silently") is still one of my favourite songs that I've ever heard in an anime:

It's a piece of nostalgia for me.

Yeah I'm just here to talk about how good "Silently" is. The OP isn't far behind. The best thing about this series was the music, followed by its decent backstory episodes and the chemistry between the characters. Unfortunately no amount of fleshing out or backstories can erase how archetypal the personalities are, especially for the boyfriends. Despite this, it was a pretty decent show for about 15 episodes and had the potential to nullify its weakness in character personalities by using plot to put them in motion. Too bad the main plot turned out to be "power of love" and "power of friendship" and accomplished nothing in its attempt at short term melodrama. Still, I wouldn't say it's a boring/bland anime with nothing to offer. For much of its runtime it's got heart/charm.

I wanted to write a real in-depth review of this, but it just wasn't worth it.

The artwork is fine. Background and cityscapes are good. Not great, but certainly good. Especially for a TV show of this period.
This animation is decent. Maybe a little bit stiff compared to some other late 90s shows. But there is a lot of detailed artwork going on and it's hard to make it move as fluid as something with a simpler design. Overall, shadowing, highlights, texture, visual FX, backgrounds, linework, animation is "good". Maybe I'll even go a bit further and say that it's "really good".
I also have to take into consideration that I'm watching the dvd that came out in 2005. There is no bluray release of this, and it hasn't been remastered.

The show starts out really strong. There is some elements that caught my attention. For example the incantation that Katsumi uses is the actual Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram from the Golden Dawn system. And there are some other sigils and symbols used throughout that looks promising.
However, if you're not into early 20th century solomonic magic it won't make much sense to you. Because they never explain it. They never go further into the story than just surface level. And the fucking story drags on. And on. And on. If this had been 12 episodes I think it could have been a great quick watch for some nostalgia and fun. But it's 14 episodes too long.

Normally, I like when a show build up each character with full background stories. I like when they allow the side characters to actually have some personality. 'Kono Oto Tomare' did this brilliantly, while still building the main story. In this show however, every time they shine a light on a side-character the main story stops. Just stops dead. And then we get an episode or two with some development, and then it's time for another filler, or another side story, or a new character, or something else. And it never goes anywhere.

So should you watch it?
Yes. If you have nothing else to watch, it's still a fairly good 90s anime. If you like this kinda stuff, you won't be disappointed. It has all the elements we old farts like. The music is great, the design is cool, it's kinda sci-fi/cyberpunk/horror with lots of action. it has superpowers, demons, babes, cyborgs, sportscars and talking sword. It's a cool show.
If your choice is between this or another fucking seasonal isekai, you should absolutely watch this. BUT, there are better late 90s shows out there. Heck, I even recommend watching the Silent Mobius movie before watching this. It is sooo much better.
