Wada Kouji, born in Kyoto, Japan was a Japanese rock singer, best known for his work in the Digimon series.
Wada sang the Opening Themes for the four seasons of Digimon, as well as the first Evolution Theme for Digimon Frontier, "With the Will". He Also performed the two Ending Themes of Frontier, Innocent: Mujaki na Mama de and An Endless Tale. He starred in various other Digimon songs, such as Bokura no Digital World (the "memorial" theme for the Adventure series), Yuuki o Uketsugu Kodomo-tachi e (a song starring all the singers in Digimon, including AiM, Miyazaki Ayumi, Oota Michihiko, etc.) and several Christmas songs.
In 2003, Wada released his first original album, All of My Mind, which included some songs from Digimon Adventure, Adventure 02 and Tamers and the Opening Theme for Transformers: Car Robots. He also collaborated in Michihiko Oota's self-cover album Mirai e no Message: Oota Michihiko Self-Cover, featuring in two tracks - a cover version of Hontou no Tsuyosa (本当の強さ) (Ken & Wormmon's Theme) and in 3 Primary Colors (the Tamers' theme), along with AiM.
Wada Kouji returned to the Digimon franchise to sing the second opening theme for the fifth series, Digimon Savers. The song is entitled Hirari.
In July 2007, Wada Kouji made his first show in Brazil, doing a solo presentation and singing along others invited Japanese singers on the "Anime Friends". This happened one year after Miyazaki Ayumi visits Brazil in another convention "ExpoAnime Brasil". He also visited the state of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil in October 14 2007, during the Anima Weekend event. In December 15-16th 2007, he made a live presentation in the "Anime Festival XL" event in Santiago, Chile.
In August 2008, he released a mini-album named ever, which contains five original songs, with four of them composed and written by himself.
In December 2008 he was performing in the "Animeku 08" in Argentina.
He died at the age of 42 due to a nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
