All I did was plug it into the tv, I actually just hung it in my mini blind just to see if it would work, and I get 15 crystal clear channels!! Only three are shopping networks. Local new channel, ION, CW44 and more!! You can't beat it for the price.
I was using a larger RCA antenna that looked like a square picture frame. It is "powered" which means it plugs into an AC powered signal amplifier. I have to keep moving it depending on the channel and even then performance was annoying. I simply plugged this antenna into the same amp and there was a much better picture and almost no need to reorient the antenna.
If you live in a fringe area, you will probably need the signal booster as well. But if you already have a booster that is separate from your antenna, it will likely work just fine.
I received exactly what was promised. The cord is long enough to reach high areas. One side is black, the other white so you can try to match to your environment. It works great and I don't have to pay for TV.
Good riddens to my cable bill. This little gadget plus a $16 a month philo subscription and I've got all the channels I need. It found somewhere around 40 channels and much better picture quality then what I was paying the cable company for. My cable carrier decided it was going to force everyone to get digital boxes at a cost of $11 each box per month. I would have needed 5 for $55 a month MORE then I was already paying, no way!
I didn't know what to expect because I seldom watch local channels anyway.. Price was reasonable and it proved to be as good as the ratings. So now when or if the internet goes out, I will have something to keep in touch with the outside world such as news and weather. Very pleased.
the best indoor antenna I could find. and I tried many others. I receive 39 channels and I will receive more when CBS out of Madison finishes there broadcast tower work. I receive all the other networks out of Madison except channel 3
