Nate Long on Instagram: "Details here 📚 We often get asked how much it cost to build our library wall and it was surprisingly cheap. We did not use an Ikea hack because we really wanted the proportions of the shelves to blend perfectly with our wall and window. The top shelf and bottom shelf align perfectly with our window for a seamless look. We ended up using 1x10x10 pine boards for the entire bookcase. The whole thing was put together with pocket hole screws and brad nails to fasten the beadboard to the backs of the shelves. We used a cleat fastened to each shelf with 6 pocket hole screws that we drilled into studs along the wall. Once I had a wonderful library. I want to have one again, but it would take decades to recreate the library I loved so much. Better late than never, however! This is perfect with the library ladder. And I love white shelves because they do not show every speck of dust like dark shelves do.
