$250 to remove brand removal?? Is this true?

Before I buy XF, I saw that on top of the $140 licensing fee, it's an additional $250 to remove the copyright brand:

" Branding Removal - $250*
This allows you to remove the visible XenForo copyright notice from all pages."

It seems a bit high, since I'm already dropping $140 upfront

Do you guys remove the this brand/copy logo?
Are there other ways to remove the brand after spending $140? via CSS coding for example?

ahh ya so over 500 up fount for unbranded software lmao they probably make more money offering it in there subscription can ya imagine paying that and 6 to 12 months later they change to xenforo 3 and say welp pay again lmao.
Branding Removal is a one time payment for the lifetime of the license.

You got me! How about a first class ticket versus coach?
My point exactly more are going to fly coach because of the price difference Less fly first class.. if the price was more affordable in the long run more would fly first class and the airlines would make more in the long run. I honestly was going to get the removal at 250 now knowing it is over 300 its not worth it the software does everything i need it to do ever so i can just let the support license expire cause there would be no need for it.... Why something like a added fee monthly/yearly option for branding you would think would be more profitable and available option.

So what happens when they change to v3?
What is so hard to understand about a one time payment? Why don't you go back to the pricing page and read through it again...

XenForo has an initial payment, which gives you access to the core software including a 1 year upgrade subscription.

After that year you pay a significantly reduced amount to receive updates. However, nobody forces you to pay that fee.
You can resubscribe for the reduced fee whenever you feel like it.

This includes everything related to XenForo. We upgraded from XF1 and had our license last renewed 2014. We paid 60$ or whatever the fee was and are now at XF2.

Is this really so hard to understand?

Yes for a member just joining in February ya sure know a lot of answers. Assuming i posted in a forms asking q offended ya somehow lol thank you.

And on a more serious note, I can't see the point of removing the branding. In my case, even if branding removal was free I wouldn't do it. As others have said, almost everything one buys has the brand on them, so why should software be any different?

You are right but everything you buy besides software ya can if ya wanted to but on almost all software now a days is a lease so your limited on how you can modify it..

You can remove the branding free all you want but view the source you'll know the software anyway.

The difference is that you don't need to pay anything to remove the tag from your sweater or the badge on your car... since it belongs to you. But I understand XF's pricing policy, it's free advertising on all forums that use XenForo and you might as well not do without it... unless you pay. This all seems pretty fair to me...

I actually bought this brand removal along with XenForo a decade ago when XenForo was still in Beta. I just wanted to put some cash into the startup at that time and so far I am very happy with the purchase. It has zero renewal costs making it a no brainer for me if you think about it.

So you paid $250 for it in 2010 and its worth $350 now. Not a bad investment!
