New York style pizza in Northeast Ohio! If you want a good New York style pie? Or slice? This is your place.
Look, I'm not from the East Coast and I'm definitely not from New York City lol. I am Ohio born and bred. And I understand all the styles that Ohio has to offer.
There are not a lot of places around doing New York style pie. So I admit I don't have a huge sample size to compare. For what it's worth, I have been in New York and I have tried many different places.
Lucci's Place is my favorite pizza around. Forget the chain restaurants. Do I love Luigi's and Akron? Of course I do. But we all know it is what it is.
Brimfield bread oven? It's on a different level: that's for a different review for them. And I do still have love for Gionino's when I want a solid pizza gut bomb.
But when I crave good NY style? This is my spot. It's never bad. It's consistent. It is a cheese pizza doing the most and slaying all the tastebuds.
Kent is blessed to have Lucci's.
The crust breaks upon folding. The flop is there, which never bothers me. but if you're at Dave Portnoy fanboy, maybe ask for them to do it well done? I just know how I like my pizza and I don't let trends and popularity dictate what those standards should be.
Lucci's for the DUBWWWWWW!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brody R.OH, United States01027 Jan 2025
First of all i would like to thank the owner, very respectful and very nice guy. Where do i even start with the Pizza. I got a 18 inch cheese pizza and let me tell you THE BEST pizza i've had and ive had more than i can count. From the crust to the sauce to the cheese everything was a 10/10 if ur in the area or not it is so worth the drive! I would be coming back to this place atleast once a week. Highly recommend.

Ordered two pizzas and some cheesy bread from Lucci's recently. We were visiting my daughter and we weren't sure what to have for dinner. I was thinking of the pizza shops in the area and it turns out, there were quite a few. So I turned to yelp to find the highest rated pizza shops in the area. Lucci's topped the list.
I called and requested a large pepperoni, a large supreme, and some cheesy bread. They told me it would be 45 minutes for delivery. It only took about 25 minutes for the delivery.
The pizzas looked amazing and smelled great. The crust was crispy and flavorful and the pizza was thin, like New York style. The flavors were excellent. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. The sauce was excellent. I love this pizza and I wish I had it near my home. The cheesy bread was wonderful. It was covered with cheese and had a good garlic flavor.
Awesome pizza! We'll order from here again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Art R.San Francisco, United States02012 Nov 2024
Outstanding pizza. Very tasty. It takes 35 minutes, so calling in is a good idea, but well worth the wait. Staff friendly. There is no dine in BUT there is a bar caddy corner that serves no food- only drink and they welcome Luccis customers to come in with Luccis pizza. The bar is very nice too.

So we had friends visiting and we all grew up together in NY so ordering pizza here in Ohio can be a questionable decision. Don't get me wrong, local pizza is fine and ofttimes delicious but it's like another food group compared to the pies we grew up on. Nonetheless, pizza was what we wanted and we decided to take a chance and try a new place, Lucci's. SCORE! This is the closest to NY Pizza we have found. First the fold, present and accounted for. Second the flop, you know you have to keep the tip from hitting the floor, check! Third, the right spice combo and cheese, yup! Just needed the drip running down my arm to transport me home. Well done!

I give the pizza 5/10. Margarita is my favorite and fresh basil and Roma tomatoes make the pizza. When you cook the basil the entire duration, you lose that amazing flavor. If there is too much grease on a pizza, it can be overpowering and drown out the wonderful flavors (garlic, tomatoes, etc).
If looking for pizza that you fold to eat, this is it! I've had NY pizza (Manhattan and LI) and it is reminiscent of NY pizza.
My family had the cheesy bread and pepperoni pizza and had no complaints.
Super friendly staff, huge portions. I love supporting family businesses so was happy to support them. It just wasn't my favorite.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Vincent B.Stow, United States61522124 Sept 2022Updated review
I have had some great New York style pizza from NY in the past and this ranks right near the top! I loved the thin crust not to flimsy not too well done just right to pick up a slice and not fall apart!
My wife and I ordered a large pizza with sausage, pepperoni, green peppers and onions. It was fantastic. Don't have much else more to say about this pizza. If you are craving some good NY Style Pizza give this place a shot I it will not disappoint.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 15 Jan 2020Previous reviewI moved back home to N.E. Ohio from Los Angeles after 32 years and for the last year I have been searching for some great pizza. Over the past year I have tried pizza in the Stow, Akron, Hudson and Munroe Falls area even in Cleveland. We tried this pizza for the first time Saturday night and it was absolutely AMAZING!!! The crust was perfect the way N.Y. Style Pizza should be and all the toppings were generous and flavorful and on top of that all the people working inside this small kitchen area had such wonderful attitudes you could tell they love what they do and it shows with every bit of their pizza! I lived in L.A. for 32 years and I can honestly say this is the best pizza I have ever had up to this point!
I have found my go to pizza joint!!!

Food was so freaking good & delicious. Service was cool, i had to wait just a few minutes till the pizza got done cooking but everyone had a good persona. Just made you feel welcomed. Great ambiance, small and quaint but extremely friendly and the smell of great pizza! We ordered the 16"z
