I learned about this butcher shop when they offered a deal through groupon. Since purchasing and using the groupon I have visited this shop a few time. This butcher shop is small, clean but some cuts of meat here can be pretty expensive!
They offer various cuts of beef, pork and poultry as well as some seafood options.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. However, ironically the crab cakes that they sell is what has me returning. They are made perfectly and are filled with lots of crab meat instead of fillers. They also sell hot meals but I haven't tried them yet but they seem popular.
So far everything I have tried here as been delicious so I definitely will keep returning.

Vinny's Meat Market is a bit of a trek if you're no where near Bay Ridge but it's worth going to if you live nearby.

I came here for their crab cake and mozzarella cheese and both where spectacular. Their crab cake ($8 each) is the size of a burger and it's full of lump meat with minimal fillers (see my video in the photo section). The patty was seasoned perfectly. It was not overly salted where you can't even taste the meat itself.

As for their fresh mozzarella cheese, it's really FRESH! I was making a pizza at home and decided to used their cheese and it knocked my pizza out of the the ball park. Not only was the cheese fresh, but it felt and tasted really velvety. I also brought some of their sliced cheddar cheese and slice mozzarella cheese and they were both equally good. I'm not sure what brand they used but it definitely did not taste like the supermarket kind!!!

Note: They open really odd hours so make sure you check their hours or call them before visiting.

I love Vinny's! It is connected to Embers Steakhouse. It is a small butcher shop w/ dry aged meats, sausages, chicken and much more. It is my newfound meat discovery and I love it. The store also sells Embers prepared meals- Roast organic chicken, haricot verts and a potato cake for $9 was delcious. I am also fond of their marinara sauce- tasting like a Brooklyn mama made it, for $3 it is a lovely sauce. I want to buy some meat, but fear it won't taste as good as a restaurant prep would do it justice- in the mean tiime there are other tempting goodies in this little shop on scenic 3rd Ave.

AKA Vinny's Butcher Shop, in case you are looking for it from Groupon.

They are the butcher shop for Ember's steakhouse next door, and I'm pretty sure the staff work in both. The clerk told us that if you ever don't see someone manning the counter or if no one is responding to your bell, to just go into Ember's next door and tell them you need service at Vinny's.

I rarely buy filet mignon anyway and I came here on a LivingSocial/Groupon, so I'm not sure how to compare it price-wise, but my experience was pretty smooth after I realized they aren't actually closed down (though they may look like it from outside).

Quick redemption of the voucher, nice worker, and really delicious steak. I haven't tried anything else here yet, but I have a couple more vouchers left so I'll be back to try the cheese and probably more steak.

So I wanted a break from cooking and decided to try Vinnies prepared meals. There is a big selection for$9.99: filet of sole, steamed lobster, chicken piccata, chicken marsala to name a few. All specials come with a baked potato and a vegetable. They are always out of the lobster special. I've always loved Chicken Piccata and decided to try it.
The market is small but cozy: when you walk in you are greeted with bread baskets, savories like cheese and crackers and a display case that features nice chops, fish and assorted meats.
I took my meal home and warmed it up. The meal consisted of 2 pieces of chicken with capers, a baked potato and roasted cauliflower.
I must say it was quite delicious: I'm not a cauliflower lover but a dash of lemon on it proved quite tasty. The baked potato literally melts in your mouth. The real star of chicken piccata is not only the chicken but the sauce!( lemon and butter). I added a side of arugula with dressing.
All in all it was delicious and I highly recommend it.
Vinnies caters to nearby restaurant, Embers.
So if you find yourself in Bay Ridge and want a nice meal to take home, try these nice meals at Vinnies.

side note: Vinnies advertises on Groupon regularly. Sadly, they do not accept the Groupon vouchers for these meals. However at $9.99 these meals are a nice value.

I feel I need to qualify the above rating. I would not shop here without a Groupon. Way too expensive. However, with the Groupon, there are some items in this tiny place that make it worthwhile. Thin cut chicken cutlets, ground sirloin and a few cold cuts that are all under $5lb.
Very nice guy is always there to serve.

Pre-Ordered a 8lbs Bone-In Prime Rib Roast from them over the phone 2 weeks prior. Pickup day was confirmed for Sunday the day before X-mas. I was told it would cost me between $80-90 for it and was happy with that quote. I get a call a week before about the order and the guy thinks I wanted 8oz??? I correct him and say no 8lb Bone-In Prime Rib Roast for pickup for next Sunday. All was confirmed again but from this conversation I did not have high confidence.
My gut was right and when I showed up Sunday my order was not there. The guys working at Ambers started arguing with the Chef or who ever was in the kitchen. They came out with a slab of Prime Rib and said this would be the cut I would get. It was not 8lbs but the Chef would put another cut with it to make it 8lbs? I said no it has to be one piece. Then we argued about leaving the bone in. I finally got them to weigh it and wrap up this 7lbs fatty piece with the bone-in. The guy hands be a bag and says that will be $140. I tell them there must be some mistake as I was quoted at $80-90. They call up who ever makes the call and say sorry that is the price. I hand them back the bag and tell them thanks for screwing me over the day before Christmas and walkout to a meaningless sorry.
Thank god for BJ's and their butcher onsite. He cut me a beautiful 8lb Frenched Bone-In Prime Rib Roast that cost $70.
What a horrible experience with Vinny's(Ambers)...all beware as if I didn't have BJ's to save me, my Christmas Roast would have been ruined.

I have not eaten here yet and made reservations for my father's 80th birthday with some family members. I had planned on leaving a deposit and decided to stop by the restaurant to check things out, didn't realize they were closed on Monday (as well as the butcher shop they are affiliated with). I couldn't see too much into the restaurant but decided to peak into the butcher shop, I was alarmed to see roaches in the display window!!! How can I ask my family to dine here knowing that the meat they might order will come from that roach infested display?!? Truly disappointed and I haven't even been.

Very clean place. Staff is always helpful and polite. The Bell & Evans organic chicken is very good. I actually found the price to be better here than the supermarket and you won't wait on a long line in this place. They also have steak and pork among other things. If you want to cook an outstanding meal, this is the place to shop. The meat is fresh and high quality ...way better than going to Met Foods or Food Town. I'm going to miss this place when I move.

Bad service. Walked inside and rang the service bell 5 times in the course of 10 minutes and no one answers even though there are people in the back. Will definitely not be back since there are better butchers out there with better service.
