Tastea

I've always thought that Tastea had one of the best popcorn chicken flavors in town.

Today I got the chicken & calamari.

Pros:

- Great seasoning
- Love that they included the crispy little pieces in the chicken
- I think the weak sauce is just sweet chili? but it's delicious!

Cons:

- Ordered extra basil and it's supposed to be fried but they weren't
- Spice levels are a bit inconsistent
- Usually when we get mild, it has a bit of heat. This time, it had almost none, making me wish I got medium. However, if I order medium next time, it may be tooooooo spicy if it's inconsistent.

We come so often and I keep forgetting to leave a review!

The service is always fast and friendly.

The inside restaurant is a little small and limited places to sit but we don't ever have a problem finding a spot to sit. I do wish they would wipe down the table more! There's always stuff on the table. (If the drinks weren't so good I would have given 4 stars)

Our go to drink is the watermelon slush with mango bites. We always get the biggest size and it's soooo good! The chicken with rice bowl is always a 10/10 too.

I love getting my drinks from here, the food is great as well! But sometimes when I come for an online order I wait by the pick-up area and we get ignored for a few minutes. Maybe a little acknowledgment that they saw us would be nice. Other than that it's got to be one of my favorite boba places in Mira Mesa.

*this doesn't occur with every employee! Some of the employees here are super nice and helpful!

We were shopping in the area and stumbled across Tastea. We love boba and are always looking for new places to try, so we decided to check it out.
Initially we were both going to try their Chamango drink but we ended up just getting the Yummy Gummy & Avocado Avalanche.
Yummy Gummy: A tropical mix smoothie with orange, passion fruit, and raspberry with peach bits! It definitely tastes like gummies.
Avocado Avalanche: I am always down for an avocado smoothie and this one was perfect! I've never had green colored boba before and to my surprise, it was SO GOOD! It had a great chew and complimented the smoothie well.

Both smoothies were medium sizes (20oz). Their larger size is HUGE at 32oz. Generous cup sizes, for sure!
Will definitely come back!

After a long day of walking about both plazas and comic con prior, we needed some refreshments and popped in here after seeing what was close on yelp.

The space was clean, cool, and had a nice staff. They serve snacks too fried karage chicken, bowls, calamari etc.

We got avocado smoothie and a gummy smoothie.

My lady enjoyed her creamy avocado smoothie with green boba (we were so glad it wasn't the popping juice boba) pleasantly surprised and welcomed it.

I had the yummy gummy with 30% sugar and it was smooth and refreshing. Orange raspberry passionfruit and peach bits at the bottom.

We were both happy with our drinks, though mine did feel more like a slushy than a smoothie but either way enjoyable.

I've been drinking Tastea since I was in high school and they never disappoint! My boyfriend and his family love it here. Tastea has a wide variety of drinks and snacks on their menu so there is something for everyone. My favorite part about Tastea is how customizable they are; you can opt for 0 calorie sweetener, adjust sweetness for every drink, & choose your dairy/non-dairy of choice. Their boba is also consistently qq texture and holds onto its honey flavor! So happy we have one in SD!

I love coming to tastea for a a refreshing drink after dinner with friends. I like getting the peach me sweet tea. I usually ask for less sugar due to the drink being on the sweeter side. Service is usually quick and there is ample parking.

Very spontaneous. Stop over here after going to get my nails done at the salon nearby.
My husband has been wanting boba for a really long time and he loves Thai milk tea so decided decided to stop here.

Got Classic Milk Tea with Creme Brulee.
The tea in itself had a good flavor and it turns out they had actual chunks of creme brulee inside!
I thought it would be creme brulee flavored boba pearls or something like that. But no, it was actual chunks of creme brulee!
Very unique take here. A little hard to have the creme brulee pieces through the straw, but maybe you can get a spoon and have it as dessert at the end of the tea. :)

Would recommend trying for sure.

I got the the strawberry green tea. I got the large one and for the price you pay, I feel like they give you a lot. That 32 oz tea was really good.... I'm mostly a coffee drinker but really enjoyed this one. I also like the sign they had there as well, nice little photo op.

I finally decided to change it up and got their Vietnamese Coffee with creme brûlée. Learning from my previous mistakes, I got it with light sweetness. And wow!! It was amazingly good with definitely a strong bitter, nuttiness to it. YUM! This is the kind of coffee I love. None of the drinks from here have yet to disappoint me! Keep it strong, Tastea!

The weird thing I didn't realize this shop did was that they charged an extra $0.75 for less ice with a top off. I didn't know that was a thing until it was too late. The cashier couldn't cancel that so I just paid for it. The manager(?) was nice and gave me $0.75 back, but I said it was okay. A good side note for the future though!
