When I first moved to the area there were many fog shrouded mornings. Now there are less. Bom Dia Cafe is shrouded in concrete, steel, and glass. I never would have known about it except Maggie found it. There is a sign inside stating "Cafe". It's located a floor below the ground. Lots of drink choices.
I tried a smoothie with strawberries and blueberries. Icy cold with very strong berry flavor. Kinda like Jamba Juice. Texture was dense with berry pulp. Great tasting drink.
Apple pastry was sweet and full of apple flavor. I inquired about the origins of the pastries and was told they come from a commercial bakery.
I also tried a mango smoothie which was bursting with mango flavor and full of fruit.
Staff was friendly and efficient.Helpful 44Thanks 0Love this 45Oh no 0 - Oct 12, 2021
Found this gem hiding within a large shiny glass office building across the street from Embassy Suites. They offer a variety of coffee's, lattes's, espresso's, loose leaf tea, hot chocolate, smoothies, Acai bowls, various pastries, sandwiches, salads and pasta's.

I've been here a half dozen times now. Think I'm addicted to their pumpkin latte and breakfast croissant! Daniela is very personable and just makes you want to hang out and chat, that is if she's not too busy helping other customers. My daughter has tried the banana plus smoothie and the original Acai bowl. Her only complaint, she wished the smoothie came in a larger size.
They are located within a plethora of business buildings. So if you work in the area I highly recommend stopping by. If you need to drive, visitor parking is available at a reasonable fee. Make sure to visit before 2:00 PM, closing time Monday through Friday.

This was my favorite place at one point, until I got roped off. I ordered extra toppings and they didn't give it to me. I even called them to let them know and I was told it was there. I was literally looking at it and I know for a fact they were lying. Instead of apologizing, they said they guarantee that it's there. I know it was never in there. So because of this, I'll never be going back.

The coffee is good, and there are excellent food options, especially the amazing empanadas. I enjoy coming here during my lunch breaks.

Bom Dia Cafe is one of the most convenient cafe's I've ever been to at a workplace. I no longer have the need/urge to order lunch on UberEats/GrubHub/etc or to get into my car to pick up food at the mall. There is a wide variety of options from fresh sandwiches, burritos, salads, pastries, smoothies and more. This cafe is helping me save money while buying quality food items & products.
My favorite lunch sandwich to grab here is the steak cheddar sandwich. It is so tasty and filling. And it's only $7! Can't beat that!
I was excited to find out that they have an Acai bowl on their menu but unfortunately it's a bit too sweet for me. That can be improved. Others have said they like it but it's too sweet for me. Perhaps they can also choose a better Acai source because the texture and taste of it is just a bit off for me. I am a fan of Pitaya bowls so I will give that a shot next time instead!
I appreciate the name branded products they sell such as the Perfect Bar. I hope they bring more flavors in the near future because for the time being they don't have the flavors I like such as Blueberry Cashew.
I haven't tried their coffee yet but those around me have said great things about it so the word of mouth about their coffee in this work building is positive which I think is worth sharing.
But to conclude it all, this is a convenient place with friendly staff members and comfortable outside seating to enjoy your meal/snack/coffee.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 21, 2015
So glad I found this little coffee bar. it's a cozy little coffee shop with great selection of treats - from fruits to pastries. They also carry sandwiches and salads. The prices are very reasonable considering you are paying for convenience. The barista makes the most perfect flavorful coffees. Definitely worth a trip if you are in the area. I am hooked on the Mexican Mocha.
Parking is not free since this is a privately owned building. However, you have about 15 minutes to run in and get your grub. I don't think there's validation unless you are in the building for business. Good to have a friend who works in this financial area.Helpful 25Thanks 0Love this 24Oh no 0 - Aug 11, 2015

Worst ROTD ever
Prime example why five star reviews shouldn't be taken seriously on Yelp. I first noticed this "café" on my Yelp app and thought the pictures looked interesting enough to check out. The reviews sounded too good to be true. Baked goods, a warm smile, sandwiches and salads... Then I saw that Bom Dia Cafe also won the prestigious Review of the Day (ROTD) award. So I decided to pay good ol' Bom Dia a visit.
A real review of Bom Dia Café -
Bom Dia Café is coffee bar, not a café as suggested by its name. It's located in the parking garage of one of UTCs blue professional office towers. To access this coffee bar you first must enter the office building through the back glass doors and then down the stairs to the P1 parking lot. The coffee bar is at the bottom of the stairs. What you actually find at the bottom of the stairs holds little resemblance to the enticing reviews and pictures on Yelp. First it wasn't partially clean or well kept. Perhaps at one point this was owned by someone with pride in their business but not anymore. There was a small drink refrigerator, mind you that the selection sucked, but oddly enough had some bottles of Kombucha. The Baked goods consisted of a very small case with very old looking muffins (3). Again, nothing like the pictures. Another small fridge on the other side of the wall with some food items similar to grab and go food at a 7-11. The Barista had no hospitality or made any attempt to connect. Which is very different than the other coffee places in this areas where if you give them half a chance they 'll chat you up for a five minutes.
A few side notes...
I felt like I was in a hotels.com commercial where the guests walk into a really bad hotel room because they believed the pictures online..
Something is afoul here. Not so much with the fake reviews but that the ROTD simply cannot be trusted.
Two stars
I considered just giving this place one star but I took a few things into consideration. First, I really like the outside eating area on the first floor. Also, the view is pretty cool of the new office building just completed next door.

My favorite place in town!
Very warm smile, delicious coffee and I looove all the salads (fresh, fresh, fresh).
Highly reccomend the buffalo salad and acai bowls!
Daniela is so professional and takes great care of me, she knows me by the name and knows my favorite drinks.

Bom Dia provided the coffee each day for 25 executives in town for a two-day business meeting at our office. These gentlemen are coffee lovers and everyone only had positive things to say about the coffee. I appreciated that Daniela had the coffee ready on time and I didn't have to wait at all. She was particularly helpful.
If you are in either of the Irvine buildings at 9255 Towne Centre Drive or 4660 La Jolla Village Drive, I highly recommend Bom Dia as your coffee supplier for meetings and events. Quality coffee makes a huge difference.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 8266419Jan 11, 2014First to Review
