The short ribs are amazing!! #1 large came with 2 sides so I got kimchi and noodles. It's a little over $20 with the cc (4%) fee for a plate.
The short ribs were delicious and the portion was perfect. The kimchi was also great! The noodles were interesting, they were quite peppery.
Unassuming place, 100% worth trying. In comparison to Boston Korean bbq short ribs I'd say the taste is definitely better here!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 6, 2022
Definitely not worth the price and hype. The #1 combo comes with white rice, 2 sides and short ribs. The portion is tiny 6 pieces for $19. One of the pieces was half fat so was a bit disappointed. For the flavor, they were a bit too sweet.
The service is cold and unfriendly. But can't expect much more from a tiny take out spot.
Outdoor seating only.
They prefer cash, 4% charge for CC

Fast, hole-in-a-wall Korean joint! The food is always amazing. If you don't know what to get, pick one of the Combos (I believe it's #16 or #17) and you get to taste a little bit of everything and you get your choice of two banchans! I decided to get the Tofu Soup out of curiosity and my goodness, it's so goddamn good! I've had all types of Korean stews in ktown in nyc and the Tofu soup here just kicked all the other stews I've had.
Such a shame that this place is closed on a Sunday! We wanted to leave Hawaii with this as our last meal :(Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - May 14, 2022
Rude service, but food is so good.
They are Korean owned and super authentic, but with that...you get a poor attitude. The woman behind the counter didn't greet us at all and she didn't make any eye contact. At one point, I saw her rudely yell at another customer that requested sauce. The woman specifically told the customer, "this is not spicy sauce! It is for katsu not for Kalbi!" They have signs that sauces are extra charge but she didn't even offer the customer to pay for it.
Luckily they are fast and I didn't have to watch her rudely yell at others for long.
The food was really good. Meats were marinated well and the mac salad was seasoned. But, the winner was the kimchi! Both the cabbage and cucumber kimchi was *chef's kiss*! Best kimchi I've ever had.
The lines were really long and I can tell why they get so much business because their food is good...just be aware of a bad attitude.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - May 6, 2023
This amazing spot is closed!!
When I visited Waikiki for about almost two weeks straight, this was the go-to. Tons of food for a great price.. And it tasted great! Tons of sodium however, which made me parched.
Sad to see it go, but they said they'll reopen sometime soon at a nearby location. Excited to see where they end up!Helpful 6Thanks 4Love this 1Oh no 4 - Apr 21, 2022
It was my first day in Waikiki and this seemed like a good lunch spot. It was empty when I arrived and I checked out the menu and it seemed pretty good.
I ordered the bbq chicken which came with rice and you had the chance to pick 4 sides. I choose brócoli and 3 other types of salads. I waited about 10minutes for my food to be ready which was reasonable.
I took the food back to my hotel room and enjoyed it there. It was amazing. I really loved the flavor of the chicken and the sides where great too.
If I'm ever in Waikiki again I will definitely come back to eat here.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - May 17, 2022
Really good food for a great price!
Me's BBQ is one of the best spots I visited in Oahu. I love their expansive menu and great food. Everything comes in generous portions and is fresh. Their new popcorn chicken is a must try!
Lines can sometimes get long due to how popular this spot is with tourists and locals alike, but it's worth it!
Seating outside is pretty limited, so be prepared to get everything to go.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Angelica J.Studio City, Los Angeles, CA366975Feb 20, 2023
There is always a line at this place! I tried #36, Kalbi bbq and chicken katsu. The kalbi is well seasoned. Wasn't really a fan of the chicken katsu, it tasted as if it has been sitting out for a while. I also got the macaroni salad and broccoli as my sides. Macaroni salad was meh, no taste. The Hawaiian restaurants in LA is much better. Overall, if there is no line, go for it. But I wouldn't wait for it. If I am craving only kalbi bbq, then for sure I'll be back for a #1.
The cashier lady has a RBF, don't expect a friendly service, but don't take it personal as well because they do get busy and the Place is so small that they just want to get everyone in and out with their food.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Neni E.San Francisco, CA1914855May 5, 2024Updated review
OK, so I am planning a trip to Hawaii in September and it's going to be my first real, real vacation since the start of the pandemic. Last time I was in Oahu was back in January 2019 and I've always come here practically every year before that. This was my go toplace for lunch or dinner while staying in Waikiki., so I wanted to see if it was still open. To my surprise, it is closed, at least this location. I hope they reopen nearby soon or at least by the time I'm on vacation in September!

One of the very few, and I mean very few places to eat in Waikiki that have jacked-up their prices the last several years I've been vacationing in Oahu. Their chicken katsu plate will last me for lunch, dinner, and even for breakfast! Love their kal bi which you can get for under $11!! Their BBQ beef, chicken, and chicken katsu go for under $10 for full plates!! It's my all-time favorite place to get food from when I'm in Waikiki! I'm hungry now!! =)

This was the first restaurant I visited during my trip (straight off the bus in Waikiki) and it provided a great meal after being on an airplane for way too long. They have a pretty good sized menu, so it's great for when you're just wanting hawaiian food, or their specialty which is Korean food. I ordered their Chicken Katsu meal and chose the spicy potatoes, kimchi, bean sprouts, and broccoli as my sides. I really liked the potatoes! The katsu was pretty standard- a nice crunch and plenty to have leftovers.
The inside of the place is pretty small, there's no seating inside but there's two tables outside you can share with other people. It's still nice to sit outside because the weather was so nice. Depending on the time of day, the line might extend to the outside. I'd recommend paying in cash because there is a fee for using card.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1
