The Taxpayer Receipt is based on the State of Utah's Fiscal Year Budget and is only intended to provide a fair and reasonable estimate of how your tax dollars may be spent.
Individual income and sales taxes, after adjusting for earmarks, make-up about 87% of the State of Utah's FY General and Education Fund budget ($11.6 billion). These taxes make up about 44.7% of Utah's FY budget from all sources ($25.98 billion).
The allocation of your taxes to various expenditure categories is based on the mix of sales and income taxes you paid and therefore may differ from the statewide allocation.
