Preclinical Research: We develop new optical imaging tools in the fields of intravital microscopy and molecular probes, which are used in specialized animal models of human cancers. Current projects include:
• Investigating the radiation response of pancreatic tumours, their vasculature and microenvironment using in vivo imaging to identify new treatment strategies
• Bioluminescence-guided radiotherapy in a mouse model of pancreatic cancer
• Preclinical evaluation of a novel cell-based IL12 immunotherapy for ALL
Clinical Research: We develop diagnostic, treatment-monitoring and guidance-imaging tools for use in clinics and operating rooms. Current projects include:
• Characterizing the fluorescence limit of detection of Eagle device using breast tissue phantoms
Clinical Trials: We are conducting trials to rigorously test our fluorescence technology in a clinical setting. Current projects include:
• ALA-induced fluorescence imaging of breast cancers using the handheld PRODIGI and Eagle imaging devices
• F.L.I.G.H.T Fluorescence-image guided healing trial for diabetic foot ulcers (currently on hold)
• Survey of the diversity and density of the facial bacteriome of different skin types
