Guelph Neighbourhood Visits
Off-Campus Living is committed to working with students and neighbourhood residents to foster positive neighbourhood relations. As a part of our response to neighbourhood concerns about student behaviour off campus, Off-Campus Living initiates neighbourhood visits to student homes to speak about student activities and how these activities impact the neighbourhood.

Restorative Practices
Over the past year, Off-Campus Living has introduced an approach to working with some off-campus issues that involves restorative practices. Restorative practices involve responding to issues that have caused harm in a community by focusing on identifying the harm caused by the offender and repairing the harm through a collaborative process. This collaborative process involves the offended, the offender, and the community. This approach brings the individuals together to engage in repairing the harm and restoring the relationship. This approach could, for example, involve students, neighbourhood residents, and community members coming together to participate in a facilitated discussion to share how they have been affected by the harm and then working together to establish a process for restoration that is often unique to the individuals involved.

Additional Neighbourhood Information and Resources
- Community Standards Protocol. The University of Guelph introduced the Community Standards Protocol in the fall of 2010 as a tool for responding to problematic student behaviour off-campus in a collaborative effort involving the University, Guelph Police Services, By-Law Enforcement, neighbours, and students.
