The geographical position of Njivice on the island of Krk, combined with its excellent connections to the mainland, makes it an appealing tourist destination. Situated on Krk, one of the largest Croatian islands, Njivice offers both visitors and its residents, who number around 1,200, a delightful place to stay and live. Krk is located in the northernmost part of the Adriatic and is the closest island to the mainland. The 1,430-meter long Krk Bridge, which has been operational since July 19, 1980, facilitates easy access to the island. Over 85 million vehicles, or approximately 170 million people, have crossed the bridge in its 40-year history. Ferry lines provide year-round connections between Krk and neighboring islands such as Rab, Lošinj, and Cres. Additionally, the island can be reached by air, with an airport situated on its northern side.

Njivice, located on the northwestern coast of Krk, is a charming coastal town known for its tranquil atmosphere and beautiful beaches. Once a small fishing village, Njivice has transformed into a popular tourist spot while retaining its traditional charm. The town and its surrounding area cover about 20 square kilometers. Many residents are involved in tourism and hospitality, which are the primary economic activities.

How to get to the Krk town from the airport?

Rijeka Airport on the island of Krk is located close to the town of Omisalj, on the north of the island. It is best to transfer to Omisalj first, and then make your way to your intended final destination on by bus from here – see the Arriva website for bus timetables. There are numerous buses per day to Njivice, as well as to other towns on the island.
