Debbie Hadley

Experience

Debbie Hadley is a former writer for ThoughtCo who contributed articles on entomology for more than 10 years. During this time, Debbie wrote more than 1,000 articles about spiders, arthropods, insects and other science-related topics. Her writing now focuses on genealogy through her blog, BringOutYerDead.com.

Debbie was a teacher with more than 25 years of professional experience. She also has a background as a marine science field instructor, a park naturalist, and the director of an urban gardening program. She volunteered on 13 Earthwatch projects and traveled the world on these expeditions. Earthwatch is a nonprofit environmental organization uniting scientists and individuals for global betterment. 

Debbie is the owner of the hands-on, traveling science and nature education program, WILD Jersey. Through her business, she brings hands-on learning programs to camps, schools, and other groups. Debbie is a certified Outdoor Educator through the National Outdoor Leadership School. She also holds a designation as a certified Master Gardener and scuba diver.

Education

Hadley holds a B.A. in Political Science from Rutgers University.
